《The Demon's Little Wolf》DRAGONS AND GRIFFINS

"Bang!" The car screeched to a stop as a heavy object fell right in front of us as we passed by the open gates of the castle.
"Fucking hell" Alexander muttered under his breath. "Are you fine?" He looked at me for like the first time since we left Amelia's place. We went to their to find answers and we did but we also got several other questions as a bonus. A bonus that was not needed.
Both of us had thousands of questions running through our mind but none of us asked. During the whole ride we just stayed quiet and waited when the painful journey back to the castle would be over.
"Hmm. Just a bit shaky." I said as I looked out of the window. "What just happened though?"
"Let's find out." He got out of the car and I followed suit. I was looking around the area when I felt a shadow over me. It was gone as soon as it came. I squinted my eyes as I looked at the sun shining bright in the clear, blue sky. My jaws dropped to the floor when I saw two majestic dragons circling us.
"What the fuck are dragons doing here?" I said and pointed at them.
Both dragons were circling over us. They growled as they flapped their magnificent wings in the air. Both of them were beautiful. Their big, muscled reptile bodies were adorned with beautiful scales all over them. While one of them had red scales, the other one had blue scales. When they were next to each other they seemed like fire and ice, each contrasting the other.
While I was busy observing them, I did not realise Derek who was approaching us. He had healed well over the past few days. Ever since the fight, I did not actually come face to face with him at all.
"Sorry for the inconvenience King Denver. We were just attacked by the vampires again so the dragons just got a bit over protective." Damn I must have hurt his ego pretty bad the other day.
"Inconvenience? They nearly killed us." I said under my breath as I reached for my bag from the car and walked past Derek. I heard a growl from him which I decided to respectfully ignored. As I entered the castle, the screeching voice of my sister reached my ears.

"Well, look who is here."
"Not now Rayna." I cut her off sharply with a glare.
"Whatever. There is a meeting in an hour. Get ready and come. Not that it is really needed to." I watched her retreating figure and pinched the bridge of my nose, irritated. Can I not get a break?
After a quick shower and throwing on the first dress from my closet, I found myself sitting in the meeting room. The conference room was half empty as the all leaders, except King Tarsal had not returned yet from their scouting trips. We all sat around the table as we waited for my family to come, except my grandmother who was already here. I don't know how but the dragons are now on our side along with the griffins.
I let my gaze wander and they immediately fell on Alexander who was talking to his second in command. I felt like my eyes were glued on him and I could not muster an once of strength to move my gaze away from him. As I kept drooling over his perfect face, I felt someone drilling holes at the side of my head and it was none other than the girl that came along with Alexander. I felt my face heat up as she had a small smirk on her face. I immediately averted my gaze from her and hoped that this meeting would be over soon.
The opening of the door caught everyone's attention and my parents stepped in the room. They took their seats and the leader of the dragon, Elijah started talking. "We are thankful for you on agreeing to be allies with us on such short notice even if we did not come the first time you asked. We had become allies with the vampires but they backstabbed us by stealing the staff of the Warrior Dragon from its shrine and used it on us. We hope to work well together and win this war against the vampires." He turned in my direction and spoke. "Sorry for the inconvenience outside. The dragons were just protecting the castle." I gave him a small nod and a small smile as he turned to face Alexander who also nodded in response.

"We will surely work well together King Elijah. We also look forward to working with the griffins, King Leon." My father said. "As we all know, we were attacked yesterday by the vampires again but due to the intervention of the dragons and griffins we were able to defeat them. To avoid such things from repeating themselves, we have to act fast and smartly. As we heard Alpha Axel and Leader Elena's team did not find anything about Amelia. Did you find anything King Denver?"
"Yes we did." He said as he emphasized on the 'we', making the feeling of happiness bubble in my chest. "We actually found where she was staying and we talked to her. Unfortunately she said that she could not help us in the war but she did provide us with information that could help us."
"Which are?" Ryan cut him off in between and Alexander's face contorted to one of annoyance.
"There is a stake that she used to kill the vampire king at that time and we need to find it."
"How will we find it?" My brother interrupted him once again with a smirk on his face, clearly enjoying this.
"She gave us a riddle to solve to be able to find it but I doubt that you will be able process it so leave to us. We will find it." Alexander retorted which shut Ryan up. His face slightly turned red as Alexander just called him stupid indirectly in front of all these people.
"King Elijah, about that staff you were saying, is it still with the vampires or did you manage to get it back?" Grandmother questioned.
"It is still with them."
"If I am not wrong it the the strongest magical artefact for the dragons, right?" I asked and he nodded. "If they have it, it makes them even more powerful than they already are. Is there a way to destroy it?"
"There is but a large amount of magic and energy will be needed to break the staff. The magic should hit the glass sphere the tip of the staff. Once that is destroyed, the staff will stop working. Only one with great power or an object more powerful than this can break it."
"We don't have time to find more objects. If someone powerful is needed then Leader Elena is powerful, being the leader of all covens." King Tarsal intervened
"I am powerful but I don't know if it will suffice to break the sphere. There is a reason why it is so powerful"
"What if you and your best witches converge your magic together?" My mother suggested.
"It might work but for it we will need a lot of focus as we will need to use all our powers. Being on a battle field, it will be hard to focus."
As much as I wanted to help them destroy the staff using my powers, I bit my tongue and sat back in my chair. I was feeling somewhat guilty for not helping but I did not want to tell them about it now. I was not ready. As I looked around, I found Alexander looking at me. I wonder what he must be thinking about me right now- I have magic and yet I don't want to use it to help. He probably thinks of me as someone selfish.
"Do you know who are the other allies of the vampires?" King Tarsal asked and thankfully they changed the topic.
"They never actually called all of us together but I think they have the giants and the fallen angels with them. There might be more but we don't know." King Leon said. Great, first they have the staff and now they have more allies.
"That is it for today then. We will wait for the other teams to return. Until then, Leader Elena, it would be appreciated if you could find a way to destroy that staff. King Denver and Analise, try to find the stake as soon as possible. It would be appreciated if the dragons and griffins could join and help in the training." My father said.
Finally. I was getting bored.
Same. Let's get out of here once and for all.
I got up and went straight to my room for some peaceful time by myself.

What Was Lost Outside Time
What happens to a mind, subjected to an infinite span of time? What remains, when it is taken out again? This is the story of an individual reborn after such time has passed that nothing remains of what it was; an individual who must learn once again what it is to be, beginning with awareness of the idea of awareness, and growing from there; from awareness of self, to awareness of others, to awareness of society, and on. This is the story of a mind; growing, learning, adapting, and becoming more. -- Currently the first three chapters are - well, kind of experimental. I both like and hate these; they were a pain to write, and I'm told by at least one person that they're painful to get through, but I think something like them is necessary to set one of the basic ideas about the way the story is written. It gets slightly more normal after that, the first arc of the story is rather "battle school", and I think I may need to go back and edit it - the characterization didn't end up working out as well as I had originally hoped, unfortunately, and ended up rather weak to my eye. I may go back and add a sub-plot or two, depending on how well I can handle the intended perspective shift of the second arc. -- Currently on hiatus, in case that wasn't obvious. I'm debating between rewriting large portions of what I've already written, and just finishing out the story, but either way, I don't actually have a clear idea of what I want to do right now. If I'm still feeling the same way in a few months I'll put a chapter up explaining where the story was going, maybe, so the people who have enjoyed it can know where the story was intended to go, and close this out.

The Pugilist
Vincent Roy Salazar has never been your common folk. He climbed any mountain he found in front of him. From a bright young student to an accomplished professor, his life can be described as a continuous race to the top of his chosen fields. Patriarch of a loving family, proud father of three already grown siblings, Roy realizes that his life is the perfect picture of what the average man strives for, and for that he is truly grateful. But happiness is a difficult-to-reach goal, and as he lies in a pool of his own blood, his fist cracked, a young lady crying while cradling his head, he remembers what really gave sense to his youth. Pure Unadulterated Violence The Pugilist wants to be a different take on isekai shenanigans. What would happen if instead of a moronic idiot, a depressed high schooler, or a wannabe hero the one to get his do-over is a fully grown man that has already seen what life has to offer in full? Someone who conformed himself to society, but has always craved something different? In a journey of self-discovery, academy building, god-slaying, and absolutely no harem we follow someone driven by logic, experience, and a smokey goal: to fuck shit up, have fun while doing so, and maybe resume his career as a professor for those strange, magic-wielding, unstable youths that seems to never get enough of his presence. Guys, a few notes, first of all, this is my first time writing long-form fiction. I have a background in psychology, and my main income comes from writing dreary financial articles on SEO blogs. But after a bad break-up, and finding myself falling asleep only while thinking of deus ex machina for stories on this site (and for APGTE) I decided to try my hand at this web series thingy. I'm confident in my grammar, but that's it. Everything else will be a first time, and as such any constructive criticism is encouraged and gratefully accepted. Now, on the story. Romance will be introduced once my little heart is mended, if you are scared of LGBT you may be turned off by the fact that I plan to have no taboo of any kind in my universe, but I won't ever write detailed sex scenes for any characters so don't worry too much. The litRPG part is very light and will take place later in the novel, but it's a key component nonetheless, for world-building and storyline reasons. I already have everything big planned out, so I won't drop it outta nowhere, and I hope you won't find too many flaws in how things pan out. I plan to make The Pugilist an interactive story, with secondary characters created by my audience and introduced after tweaks and careful planning. The main reason I'm writing this is that I want to build a community for myself in this time of isolation. I discovered that exercising, playing the piano or video games means jack-shit when you are utterly miserable, so I hope to give some value to my readers in exchange for praise, fame, money, and companionship. I give full props to anyone who has read this whole mess of a synopsis: I hope to not disappoint too much, now let's write some more steaming garbage that will be in dire need of editing later on.

A Long Refrain
September, in the Continuate: For most students living in the Third Division, the month's arrival usually means the start of a new school year. But not so for one particular freshman, whose first month at college seems to never end—literally. Set during the 20th year of the nation's Rectification Era, A Long Refrain follows Melody Quick’s attempts to escape from the month-long time loop she's found herself trapped in. Her journey, which starts in the capital city of Somnhaven, will take her across the vast expanse of land once known as Circadia, whose forgotten histories, ancient secrets and eccentric inhabitants could hold the key to discovering the true nature of the loop and the role she herself plays within it. However, the more she learns, the more cruel truths she must face: Will she really be able to handle the awful reality behind the loop, and all that it entails? And will those very same answers she's found be enough to not only break her free from the loop, but to also protect the people she holds dear? (A-and from what, exactly ...?)
