《The Demon's Little Wolf》SQUARE ONE

The sun rays were kissing my face as I stared at the trees passing by through the car window and the wind caressed my hair, sending waves of relief and calm through my body.
It has been an hour since we left the castle in search for Amelia and unexpectedly things were going pretty well because none of us were bothering to speak.
Alexander was sitting next to me looking like a god dressed in his black cargo pants and black shirt. The muscles in his arm flexed as he used his one hand to control the steering wheel while the other one rested on the lever. The sun was shining on his face, making his already perfect features more perfect.
"You know it is not good to stare at someone right? Did they not teach you that as a princess?" He said without sparing me a glance
"Wow. For a moment I thought you had forgotten that you had a mouth and that you could use it to talk." I scoffed. "And I was looking outside the window. So don't flatter yourself"
He hummed in response and went back to his silent and reserved self while I sat on my seat with a sulking face. As time passed by, I got uncomfortable sitting in the same position. I placed both my legs on the seat as I leaned against the window. Alexander was staring at me with a raised brow. "What? I was uncomfortable. Now focus on the road because I am not interested in dying like this."
He rolled his eyes as he continued driving. Since I could not take it any longer, I tried to start a conversation with him. "Are you always this quiet or is it with me only?"
No reply...........
"Okay.......I'll take that as only with me." I trailed off thinking of something else. "Ummm....what do you think of our family enmity? If you don't answer I will continue to talk until you will want to jump out off the car and trust me, I can do that." I said sheepishly but he stayed quiet. "Ok then-"

"Fine." He groaned, cutting me off before finally talking. "I think it is useless that it has been going on for so many years since it started between our grandparents."
"At least we agree on one thing" I admitted
"You do?" He asked me with a hint of surprise.
"Hmmm. I never really cared about this enmity. In fact, I just found out about it and judging by how many years have passed, it is probably one of the most stupid things done by my family."
"You...... you don't have a great relationship with you family?" He asked, probably feeling awkward to just ask me this out of nowhere.
"Not the best but not that bad." I lied as the many memories of them treating me badly came to mind. "So... how does being king feels like?" I changed the subject.
"Good"
"Ok........what is your favorite color?"
"Black."
"Of course it is" I said sarcastically
"Yours?" I thought I did not hear properly but he was actually wanting to continue the conversation with me. The Alexander was trying to continue this conversation.
Again, nothing is impossible I guess.
"Mine is blue" like your eyes Cresent added dreamily. "Did you always want to be king?"
"I wanted to be a powerful leader." I nodded as I let his words sink.
"Do you want to become a leader someday?"
"I've never actually thought about it." I admitted. I was too busy with school and trying to get back with my stupid family to think about myself. I was so stupid. "Do you have any favorite movies?"
He looked unsure before he said his answer "I like watching marvel movies."
My eyes lit up like bulbs on hearing this. "I love marvel movies too. My favorite is probably avenger end game. That is too cool. Except for the sad ending. Which is your favorite?"

"I love them all but Captain America and the winter soldier has a special place." I let out a small chuckled at his answer and I saw the corner of his lips tug up a bit. I guess this is not as bad as I anticipated.
"Do you have any hobby?" He asked the next question
"I love reading. What about you?"
"I know this sounds weird but I like to cook" I saw his ears turn red as he was probably embarrassed by what he said but honestly I found it so cute. I could already imagine him standing behind the kitchen counter, mixing something in a bowl with an apron tied around him. I imagined some of the mixture spread on his face as he had a small smile on his face.
How sexy would he look cooking, shirtless.
I shook my head at Cresent's comment as images of him shirtless popped up in my mind
"It's not weird at all. If it makes you happy then you should do it." I smiled at him. "How is it at your kingdom?" I asked, my curiosity getting the best of me
"Definitely not like described by the rumors. Are you all werewolves this talkative or is it just you?"
"I am a special and also limited edition. So there is only one like me." I grinned at him "What do you think of my family?" I asked curiously.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean what do you think of my family. Since you know, my father and you seem to be at each others neck all the time"
He sighed "He is a pain in the ass" I chuckled at his words. He probably has become more comfortable to talk freely to me now? "He looks like he does not want to end our enmity at all. As for your mother, she...... she just seems like someone rich rather than a queen who cares for her people. Coming to your brother, honestly he is not fit to become king. I saw him train and he is really bad at it. Even worse than your worst warrior."
"Tell me about it" I muttered sarcastically and I think I heard him chuckle...... I just heard him chuckle and I would be lying if I said that did not do anything in me. But, in my defense, I blame the mate bond.
"Your sister...........well she is just spoiled princess. Nothing more nothing less. As for the other girl...... Iry?"
"Ivory" I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah her. She just seems like another version of your mother but some what worse. I think your grandmother is the best among all of your family."
"She sure is everyone's favorite" I muttered under my breath.
"Everyone's?"
"Hmm. My wolf has taken a liking to her as well. She even likes her more than me." I pouted at the end.
You know I love you
"What about your family? You never mentioned anything about them" I instantly regretted the words that left my mouths Alexander tightened his grip on the steering wheel and his jaws were clenched. I think I just hit a sensitive spot. "Umm.... you don't need to tell if you don't want to"
The next hours passed by slowly and the thick tension in the car created a feeling of suffocation. I tried to talk to him again but he would just grunt in response or not even answer. So I just stopped trying. Each step forward we take, we come back three steps and eventually reach square one again and again
