《The Demon's Little Wolf》COLD SHOULDER

It has been three days now since my last encounter with Alexander and the time I spent with my grandmother in the cave. When I returned back from the cave that day, I went straight to bed with the thought of speaking to Alexander and clear things out but the next morning things did not turn out the way I wanted.
During breakfast, he was not present as he had to go take care of something that came up at his kingdom and he would return only later that night. Nobody seemed to mind it as it was for the good of his people but my father and rest of the family decided to use it against him and tell the other leaders that he was irresponsible but in the end, they just ignored them as they knew of the long enmity I guess.
Just before lunch that day, a fight broke out in between me and my perfect family. I ended up spending the rest of the day in town, eating and reading book. For dinner, I decided to skip and just hang out at the cave.
The next day, I had to go to breakfast as all the leaders were present there, including Alexander as they had to discuss the living arrangements and training. After breakfast, I managed to talk to him in private but the conversation was cut short as he did not bother answering me. I did not bother to go talk to him during lunch because he made as if I did not exist. I spent the rest of the day catching up with Evelyne. Dinner came by fast that day and I literally wanted to kill my 'mate'.
I saw him talking to my sister Rayna in the garden. Of course I will not get angry for him just talking to her. Rayna was trailing her long fake nails on his arms and he did not react. Unlike how he pushes me away from him, he did not bother pushing her away or even at least put some distance between them.
I did not really bother listening to what they were saying as all my focus was on how close they were to each other. What made it worse was that Alexander saw me there but just ignored me as he continued to listen to what my sister was telling him.
I mean he was not actually doing anything but the way they were standing close to each other, the way Rayna was touching him, the way he seemed interested in whatever she was telling him and the way he just ignored me, made me feel like giving all control to Cresent and let her do what she wishes. And I knew what she wanted to do......... To kill.
The next day went by in the same way. He just continued ignored me and the arrival of the other supernatural made us more busy than we already were. I saw him at times in the hallway but we did not get to talk.
Fast forward to present, I am returning to the castle for lunch with the leaders after spending the entire morning in town. Since I have not really been present at all occasions, they have gotten use to seeing me rarely. At first they would throw some questions on why I was not here but now they have understood that they will see me only during important times
I parked the car and made my way to my room. The hallway to my room was brimming with the other supernatural as the guest rooms were where I was living. As I passed by them, most of them greeted me with words as I told them not to be too formal and bow.

I made it to my room and just washed my face and tied my hair in a bun before heading down to eat. The guards opened the door to the room and went inside. I immediately frowned at the new seating arrangement. My father sat at the head as always, followed by my grandmother and mother to his right and Ryan, Ivory and Rayna to his left. What made me angry was the fact that Alexander was sitting right next to my sister and it may have been a bit too close. The fact that Rayna was wearing a revealing dress did not help my temper
There was a seat next to my mother which was actually right opposite of Alexander. I rolled my eyes and walked around the table but went right past that seat and made my way to Evelyne and pulled a chair next to her. I ignored all the stares that I got from the others and made myself comfortable.
Why are people staring at me? Because I am sitting like ten seats away from my family and as host, the family should be at the head of the table but I did not care. All these days, I am pretty sure they must have realised that I don't have such a great relation with my family.
"Someone is on their periods" Evelyne teased. I scowled in response and she just laughed it off. Lunch went by quickly with just a few things about the ongoing training and all. Rayna just tried to grab Alexander's attention the whole time even if it meant lowering her already revealing dress even further down to show her cleavage. I managed to keep my anger in check and thankfully nobody was hurt, well except for my food that was brutally attacked by my weapons known as spoon and fork.
As soon as I saw my parents walk out as well as the other leaders, I followed suit and I caught the retreating figure of Alexander at the end of the hallway. I knew I would regret trying to talk to him again and I would also end up being hurt but if it helped our relationship, it would be worth it.
The hallways in this part were practically empty as not many people lived were currently staying in this area. I used my werewolf speed and was soon behind him. As soon as I grabbed his hands, I felt the sparks but ignoring them, I pulled him to the closest room.
When we entered the room, he got his hands out of my grip, held my wrists in a firm hold and pinned me to the wall. I rolled my eyes at his behavior. Could he not feel the sparks when I touched him? Or maybe he did not like it when I touched him. I mentally scoffed and with a swift movement of my hand, the door was shut and locked but Alexander was too busy looking at me to realise.
"You know you can let go of my hands right?" He moved away from me and kept some distance between us as if he would be affected by standing this close to me.
He did not mind being this close with Rayna!
Not now Cresent. He groaned and reached for the door. He groaned again as he could not open the doors. I leaned against the wall and smirked, looking at him. He looked at me with his usual cold expression.
"I did not lock it." I raised my hands in surrender. "Your hands had my hands in a grip. Remember"

"Then tell whoever you told to lock the door to open it" I could feel him getting angry and I was enjoying this too much right now. I know I sound mean but I was going mad for three days because of him. Just a few minutes would not do any harm.
"I will." I crossed my arms in front of me. I wanted to laugh at his expression. He seemed perplexed at why I agreed like this while also being angry and desperate to get away. "Only....... after we have a little chat that I wanted to have since so long"
"What do you want to know? Why I am telling you not to tell anyone we are mates?" I nodded. "How many time do I need to tell you it is for the good!" He nearly shouted.
"And how many times should I tell you that it is just a lame excuse you are using to avoid telling me the truth." I said through gritted teeth. The tension in the room kept growing as time passed by. The way I was talking to him, was being seemed disrespectful as he was a king. He looked at me and his blue eyes seemed to have darken a lot. His jaws were clenched and his fists were clenched so hard that his knuckles had turned white.
"I told you I will not tell anything else. If you think that keeping me locked in this room will help you get your pathetic answers then you are clearly wrong because if I want to, I can just break this door and get out." He motioned to the door.
I rolled my eyes. "I would like to see you try" I saw his eyes starting to change colour a bit as his demon was starting to get control but it seemed like Alexander controlled him. He charged for the door but when he was about to hit it, I put a magic spell on it which sent him flying back a few steps.
He scoffed. He was not affected by the spell at all as he walked closer to me and said "You seriously got a witch to spell the door so that you could have your talk with me and get your stupid answers to your questions?" His words just seemed to have a strange reaction on me as I cold no longer control my anger.
"You think my questions are stupid!? Are you freaking serious right now? You are my mate and these questions are related to my fucking life! As for the 'stupid answers'. They are not stupid. They literally have everything to do with my life!" I shouted and he was really not please as he pinned me to the wall once again with all his strength. He held my wrists above my head and stared right in my eyes
He leaned close to me and I could feel his hot breath fanning on my face. For the first I actually saw a part of the tattoos he had. It seemed to start on his chest and went all the way down his hand but I could not be sure due to his long sleeve shirt. No doubt he must look hot with those tattoos. If it was not for the situation we were currently in, I would actually kind of like it....... Snap out of it! "Don't talk to me like that." He hissed in my ears.
I scoffed "Why? Because you are the almighty king of demons?" He tightened his grip on my wrists a bit but it did not actually hurt.
Did he actually care?
"Just because you are my mate does not mean you can talk to me like that."
"Oh really? Now I am your mate?" I huffed in disbelief. "Then why were you with my sister at the garden the other night? Huh? You don't seem to mind when she touches you or speaks to you. Even today you sat next to her. Hell, you don't even talk to me properly!"
"Stop it now"
"Why? Can't hear anything against your lover? I did not take you for the type to leave his mate waiting while you go around with other girls and in my case, with my own sister!" I broke my hands free of his grips and pushed him away. "Ever since that night when we met, I tried to talk to you. To get to know why you don't want people to know that we are mates. But no! You just have to act like an asshole and ignore me while going around with my sister!" I hit him in the chest accusingly as all my emotions were all over the place.
He held both my hands in his as he exclaimed "You don't know anything!"
"Then tell me! Please! You will never know that by the time you tell me, it could be too late" I retorted while trying to get my hands out of his grip
"There is nothing for you to know!" He let go of my hands and moved a few steps back, sighing
"Stop acting like this! If you don't want me, why don't you just reject me already? Then you can go around with anyone you want, not having to bother about a stupid girl asking stupid questions." I cried out loud
He took menacing steps closer to where I was but I did not move. I would not get intimidated by him. "Never say that again and you are not stupid" At that time, all of his previous actions seemed to have been forgotten by me. It was just my mate who stood in front of me. Not the king of demons, not the guy who was fighting with me just now. He was just a possessive mate
"Why?" I whispered. I stared at him in the eyes. "Why are you acting like this? You are acting like you care but then later you don't." I looked down in defeat. "Just reject me already and get it over with." I pleaded
"I will not reject you" He said as he held my chin in his hand and made me face him.
"Why? That's what they all do. You doing it will not be any bother" I scoffed as I moved his hands away. He can't just go acting like he cares at one and the other time he is just cold. He raised his eyebrow at me in confusion.
"I don't know who you are talking about but I will not reject you. In fact should it not be you to reject me?" It was now my time to be confused.
"And why would I do that?" I put some distance between us because my neck was hurting as I had to crane it to be able to look at him.
"Your family and my family are enemies." He deadpanned "Your father does not like me neither does your brother or mother. Our families were at war long ago."
"Seriously? Is that your reason? For starters you and my family are enemies. Not me. Secondly, I don't care what my family thinks. Not only about you but about anyone else. Also, the war was long ago between our grandparents. We were not even born at that time." I used the same tone as he did. "Now if you want a real reason of why I would reject you then let me give you one. You. Are. A. Fucking. Asshole" I emphasized on each word
"This is the last time I am warning you. Don't. Talk. To. Me. Like. That."
"Or what?" I rolled my eyes as I moved closer to him. I tip toed and placed my hands on his shoulder for support as I whispered in a low voice in his ears. "As for the rejection, I will not do it. Not until I get my answers"
He was about to speak but he stayed still. He was here in front of me but it looked like his mind was somewhere else. There was light glaze over his eyes, similar to the one wolves have when they communicate through mind links. When the glaze went away, his eyes held only one emotion....... anger
"What happened?" I asked cautiously
"There is a fight between a werewolf and a demon."
