《The Star Goddess (Watty's 2018)》Chapter Eighteen

After our very short tickle war, Jackson and I jumped up and ran to class. We stopped outside of Mrs. O'Donnell's room before knocking and entering. All eyes were on us as the woman standing in front shot us a death glare.
Hey, Jackson. If looks could kill, huh?
Yep. I'm so dead. Help me, Stells!
"Hello, Mrs. O'Donnell. I'm Stella Dea. I'm new. Jackson was helping me around the school because I'm a total klutz and I kept getting lost," I turned on my sweet charm that works wonders with adults and her face softened.
"Of course, dearie. Welcome to Mooncrest. Jackson, you know where your seat is. Darling, why don't you take a seat next to..." Mrs. O'Donnell's voice trailed off.
"There's an empty seat back here, teach!" I heard a voice speak out.
"Oh, wonderful! Go take a seat next to Mr. Wulfric. Mr. Wulfric, raise your hand please," she finished and sent me back.
I groaned internally, realizing the "Mr. Wulfric" is Elliot. I plopped my ass down in the seat and tried my best to ignore him. Ana whined at me for ignoring my mate but whatever. I can feel the mate bond, but not very true strongly. I don't think my wolf has matured enough for that yet.
I was trying to focus on what the teacher was saying when I heard a voice in my head.
Stella.... please.... please give me a chance. I'm begging you.
I turned to look at Elliot and my heart melted. His face was contorted with the emotional pain I was causing him and his wolf. I was starting to feel the emptiness of not being with my mate and it was kinda kicking my ass.
Fine. Just don't push your luck.
Stella! Thank you so much! I won't let you down, baby!

I turned around and glared at Elliot.
I am NOT your baby. The only reason I am giving you a chance is for Ana.
My skin started tinting red so I jumped up and ran out of the classroom. I sprinted down the hall and turned to an exit. I burst through the door panting, trying to get my emotions under control. My skin felt really hot but there weren't any flames. It was probably just irritation and not anger.
I heard the door slam behind me and I turned to see Elliot. I backed away from him slowly, not sure how he was going to react. He looked over my reddened frame with surprise and mild shock.
"Elliot, go away," I muttered through clenched teeth. My powers were trying to break free even though I was calming down.
"No! I'm not going to leave you alone to face... whatever this is by yourself!" He took a step forward.
"Elliot, for your sake, go away. I can't control it," pain was becoming evident in my voice from trying to contain my powers.
"No."
Elliot said that last thing before rushing forward and embracing me. I felt my powers release and the flames rush out.
"Elliot!" I screamed out thinking I had killed him. My eyes squeezed shut so I wouldn't have to witness the horror of a charred mate. The flames were still pouring out of me and swishing all around me.
"I'm here. It's ok," Elliot strengthens his hold on me, whispering in my ear. "What is this?"
I brushed away the flaming hair from my neck to show him my mark. The mark of a goddess.
"I'm an Alpha along with being a goddess. I am the Moon Goddess's daughter and the Star Goddess. My powers are.... uncontrollable," I muttered. "How are you alive?" I suddenly realized he wasn't charred fur.

"Maybe because I'm your mate?" He asked only pulling away enough to look me in the eye.
However, my eye caught something else. I stood on my tiptoes to see his neck. Clear as day was the same mark I bore on my neck. I reached my hand out and brushed the mark on his neck and I felt sparks fly through my fingers and my mark as well. I moved my eyes to look into his stormy grey eyes. He was staring at me with such intensity that I got lost in his gaze. Elliot started moving his face forward and I felt myself leaning into him. His lips hovered in front of mine and his eyes searched mine asking for permission.
I pressed my lips onto his and I felt the sparks ignite throughout my whole entire body. We slightly deepened the kiss before he pulled away.

Artemis
"Let them go, Dante." I whip my head to see a small boy standing the clearing with blonde hair and a green cloak hanging from shoulders. He isn't very tall however he holds his stance well. He doesn't seem to be more than Cassandra's age. Maybe 12 at most. I abruptly turn my head back hearing the man holding a sword to my throat chuckling with a sinister grin. "Oh, poor boy, what are you go to do about it?" The yellow teeth gleam as he begins stalking towards the boy who does not look the least bit fazed. I look around at the other men who are following the leader. I pull Cassandra tighter to my back as I take small steps back. I keep my eye trained on the men but also fear for the naive boy. "Do you really want to test me Dante?" He asks raising a single eyebrow. For a minute the men stop their movements. I see their hesitation for fear... Fear of what? I take the moment to stick Cassandra behind a nearby tree. She crouches down while I pull my sword out from its place. "How do you know my name?" The scoundrel raises his sword challenging towards the boy before taking a final step towards him. Then the unexpected happens. The young boy chuckles so darkly. It sounded almost... demonic. All the men instinctively raise their swords. "Oh Dante, I didn't know your name... but you know someone dear to me." "Spit it out boy!" The once grinning man is now looking around frantically. I continue my eyes scanning the small boy. He looks directly me and gives me a small nod before saying one word that caused all hell to breaks loose. "Artemis." Artemis is not an ordinary girl.
