《The Star Goddess (Watty's 2018)》Chapter Two

I don't know what I was so worried about. As soon as my potential parents walked in, I knew I liked them.

Their names were Cole Carmen and Tara Carmen. Cole had black hair and deep hazel coloured eyes. He had a warm, soft aura about him, like as if he had the personality of a soft, fluffy cloud. Tara was like a bright ray of sunshine. She seemed like a happy person all around. Like one of those people that is always happy no matter what is done or said to them. She was kinda hyper, but was so sweet.

Even though they were both in their late 30's, they did not seem like they were about to turn 40. They were so plentiful with energy and they had the most amazing smiles. The kind that make you smile without realizing it. I loved them instantly and hoped they would feel the same about me.

Ms. Jean had shown them into the living room while they waited. I stood outside looking in, trying to gather my courage. I was so nervous even though I really had no reason to be. Ms. Jean saw me looking in and waved over towards me. Mr. and Mrs. Carmen looked over their shoulders at me and smiled brightly.

I ducked my head down and rushed into the room, sitting on the couch opposite of them.

"Mr. and Mrs. Carmen, this is Stella Dea. Stella, this is Cole and Tara Carmen. I'll leave you three alone to get to know each other," Ms. Jean stars briefly and left the room.

"H-hi," I mumbled nervously.

"Hey, honey. How are you?" Tara said sweetly.

"I'm good. Thanks. You?" I managed a reply.

"We're great. We are so excited to meet you and get to know you," Cole answered this time.

Both were really nice and we delved into a deep conversation learning all about each other. We started with basic things and then moved onto slightly more personal topics. Before we all knew it, we had been talking for over two hours. Cole and Tara were so easy to talk to and for that I was grateful. We were all so into our discussion that we didn't even hear Ms. Jean come back in.

"So it looks like you are all getting along quite well. Is it a match, do you think?" She asked the three of us.

"Yes!" All three of us exclaimed in unison.

"Wonderful. I'll get the paperwork started!" Ms. Jean perked up.

She was always happy when an orphan or foster child found a home.

"Stella, you'll be able to go home with them at the end of this week, but they can still come visit with you and take you out for lunch and things. You officially move in on Friday," Ms. Jean informed me.

"Stella, would you like to come see where we live?" Cole asked. I nodded my head eagerly.

"May I, Miss?" I asked Ms. Jean. She nodded her head in response.

"Hey, sweetheart, why don't you take Stella and show her around our place while I finish up the paperwork?" Tara asked Cole.

"Sure thing, love," Cole stood up and hugged his wife while swooping in for a sweet little kiss.

They looked at each other with such love and adoration that it made my heart swell. I'm gonna love these people in no time, I thought to myself with a strange little smile on my face.

"Bye, hun. I love you" Tara whispered to her husband.

"Bye, love. I love you," Cole whispered back.

I noticed he didn't say "too" when he told her he loved her. He wasn't just saying it back. He was saying it and meaning it. Goals for relationships. Cole turned to me and spoke.

"Well, we should get going, sweet pea, if we wanna get back before nightfall," he said.

I nodded and stood up, smiling a little at the pet name. I already felt like these people were my family. In a week, they would be.
