《Chasing the New Girl - (Complete)》Chapter 39

Jolie went up to the board and as she was writing out her answer the teacher watched. His eyes got bigger and his mouth dropped open with amazement as she wrote the correct answer. He stood there in shock scratching his head and looking over it twice to make sure he read it right.
"That's right," he said with his eyebrows raised and an impressed smile. "Jolie! That's actually right! Wow," the teacher said in awe and the whole class clapped.
Jolie's face flushed red with embarrassment. She hated having so much attention on her but she was proud that she got the answer right when it had taken a class of MIT math geniuses 20 minutes to figure it out. She went and took her seat next to Austin and he looked over at her with a smile.
"My girlfriend is so smart," he said, putting his hand on top of hers.
The teacher was still stunned and stood there rubbing his chin in disbelief before he turned to her and said, "Jolie. I know we don't know you very well with you being new here. Seriously. What are your plans after high school?"
"I'm going to Harvard Law school and I plan to be a lawyer like my Dad."
"That's a shame. You could definitely go to MIT and pursue mathematics if you wanted to. You've got a gift."
"You know, Math is one of those things I've always just been able to do and it was never a struggle. I don't enjoy it enough to make a career out of it though. Maybe I could do it on the side as a hobby. Being a lawyer and solving cases is exciting and what I've always wanted to do."
The teacher nodded before walking over and handing out the prize money to each of them and she got the $50 for solving the toughest equation.
"Let's give a round of applause to our winner Jolie Watson!" the teacher said and the classroom clapped as he handed her the money she earned.
"Who knew a Mathematical genius could be so hot?" Austin leaned over and whispered so only she could hear and Jolie smacked his arm and smiled.
An announcement came over the intercom and they said, "Attention students. The votes have been tallied and the nominees for Homecoming King are Chaz Hernandez, Blaze McDaniels, Ryan Gentry and Austin Fox. The nominees for Homecoming Queen are Mandy Reynolds, Jolie Watson, Amber Wright, and Bailey Stark. All nominees need to meet on the field during the halftime of tonight's game for pictures and a short ceremony. The King and Queen will be crowned at the Homecoming dance tomorrow."

"What?!" Jolie said. "I was nominated? Seriously?"
"Yeah. Why do you seem so surprised?" Austin asked.
"I never get nominated for anything like that. And Bailey was nominated too. It's so crazy!" she said with a smile.
After class Austin rushed out to go to the doctor's appointment and Jolie went to the cafeteria to have lunch with Blaze and Bailey. Bailey had started bringing her lunch so Jolie stood in the hot lunch line and waited by herself. She picked up some fresh fruit and a grilled chicken breast salad with a bottle of water before she turned to find her friends. She finally spotted them at a table in the far back corner and they were there alone making out again.
"Ugh" Jolie groaned, rolling her eyes, not wanting to sit there with them anymore. She looked over at her usual table that she always sat at with Austin and it was full of the football players but a few girlfriends were sitting there too. She made her way over there and sat down next to one of the girls named Emma that she didn't know very well yet.
"Hi" she said.
Emma smiled back and said "Hi". Jolie started to take a bite of her salad and that's when Chaz sat down across from her.
"Hey Jolie! Where's Austin?" he asked.
"He had a doctor's appointment over his lunch break."
Chaz raised his eyebrows. "Hope he's not sick. We've got the big game tonight."
Jolie shook her head. "No he's not sick at all. He'll be ready for the game. He's really excited about it actually."
They talked for a few more minutes and Emma talked along with them which was nice so it didn't feel like she was just talking to Chaz. Finally he looked over at her and asked, "I'm sure you're probably getting tired of being asked this, but have you and Austin, you know, done it yet?"
Jolie rolled her eyes and glared at him and said, "Not that it's any of your business but no we haven't. You probably would have known if we had because the website would have gone crazy I'm sure."
Chaz nodded. "Yeah but it's weird. Something's going on with the website. There haven't been any posts from the host in a few days and they usually post a few times a day. Whoever it is running it must have something going on."
"Really? I haven't even looked at it in a long time. I try to pretend it doesn't even exist. Hopefully the site completely shuts down," Jolie laughed.

"Yeah I doubt they'll shut it down. It's more popular than ever. Did you know the pot of money to the guy that wins is now over $15,000. If the owner doubles it like they said they would that's $30,000!" Chaz said and Jolie choked on her salad and coughed.
"$30,000! What? Are you serious?"
Chaz nodded. "I know. Isn't that crazy?"
She was shocked. "Yeah that's really crazy."
After lunch Jolie went to Spanish class and sat down at the front like she always did. Her Spanish teacher walked in today wearing a long Mexican skirt with a bunch of colorful ruffles on it and a big sombrero on her head.
"Hola!" she said as she entered, striking some kind of Mexican dance pose, making the class laugh.
When Blaze entered behind her he walked in and said, "I'm so sorry for being late," and he sat next to Jolie.
"You're actually apologizing for being late now? That's new," Jolie laughed. Blaze smiled as he pulled his notebook out of his backpack.
"Yeah. I'm trying to do better. I know I'll never be top of the class but just maybe I don't have to be a complete screw up either, even if that's all my parents expect of me."
"What do you mean? Are your parents pretty hard on you?"
"Uh, yeah. That's putting it mildly. That's why I avoid my house as much as possible. My Mom's always nagging at me and tells me I'm a loser that won't amount to anything. My Dad's always drunk and comes home looking for a fight. I can't wait to move out."
"I'm sorry Blaze. I know how it is to have a screwed up family. It's hard. I noticed you haven't acted drunk or high here lately. You seem to be doing a lot better," Jolie said looking over at him.
"Yeah I haven't had a drink, smoked pot, or taken a pill in a week. It's been really hard but I know Bailey likes it that way. I don't want her to decide I'm a loser and break up with me. You know? I want to be better."
"I'm really proud of you Blaze. Seriously," Jolie said smiling as the Spanish teacher finally called for their attention and started teaching.
The rest of Spanish class was pretty boring for her because she already knew all the Spanish the teacher was going over. It would be kind of like putting a high-schooler in an elementary class learning addition and subtraction. She was so bored that she zoned out and stared out the window. When class was almost over Jolie's phone was on silent but she saw it light up with a text message from Austin.
'I just got the results from my test back. It's not good."
Jolie stared down at that text in shock and read it again. Her heart sank. The teacher had them filling in their workbooks which she had already gotten done so she snuck the phone under her desk and texted back.
'Why? What did they say?'
A few seconds later she got a text back.
'I'm pregnant.'
She laughed out loud but covered it up by pretending to cough. The teacher looked back down at her writing so she looked back at her phone.
She texted back:
A few seconds later he texted back:'
Jolie was so relieved.
'Good. You scared the crap out of me you know. I'm going to have to pay you back for that one.'
He replied with an emoji with it's tongue sticking out and she smiled.
At the end of day when classes were over Jolie walked out to the parking lot to see Austin standing beside his Jeep wearing his football jersey with his letter jacket over it and some faded old jeans. He looked so hot like that. She smiled at him and he walked forward to meet her, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her body against his, pressing his lips to hers.
"I've been waiting to do that all day," he said, looking down into her eyes.
He leaned down and kissed her again, spreading her lips apart with his tongue and covering her mouth with his. His hands moved under her shirt to the bare skin of her waist and he pulled her body towards his so that she was right up against him. It made her whole body tingle and her heart was beating so fast. Her tongue pressed back against his and her hands pressed against his chest, feeling his strong muscles beneath her fingertips.
"Get a room!" someone yelled out, pulling her out of the trance he had her under.

Elise had about to change into the dress that was lying on the corner of her bed when she heard a knock lightly calling from her door. His crimson eyes trailing a little over her room and spotted the black dress over her bed and shifted his eyes over to the woman in front of him. He stepped forward and spoke. «Where did you acquire that dress?»«Mr. Harland gave it to me.» Elise replied and strained her neck to see Ian’s brows knitted in its elegance.«Do you know why a man would love to give a woman a dress?» He gave the riddle that she always had to think twice before replying. But this time, she found no answer and instead shook her head. «I don’t know.»His grin grew bewitching as though something had stirred deep inside the scarlet eyes that he had. He slowly slid his hand over the collar of her dress, sending a cold shiver that startled her for a moment due to its freezing temperature. After unbuttoning the first two buttons on her collar, he tilted his head down, whispering to her ears. «Because they want to be the one to undress the cloth.»He paused and kissed her neck, turning the pale skin to red before retracting his move to fix his eyes on her and leisurely replied. «Unfortunately, you can’t wear the dress over there with this.» He chuckled and passed a box over to her hand. «And the fortunate news is I prepared a dress for you.»

I find the Noah/MC relationship in the Love Island game extremely unsatisfying, so I have created my own story where Noah and MC can be together, no snakes or slimy feelings involved. I also wanted a LI to appreciate MC for something besides her style and loyalty, so I've incorporated a lot of that as well.
