《Once More • J.Jk FanFic. ✔️》Chapter 26: My Son

I didn't realize Jungkook was here until I heard the sound of Mr. Jeon's voice causing me to switch my gaze from Mrs. Jeon toward the sound and saw Jungkook staring at his father quite stunned.
"I didn't know you had such a wonderful wife!" Mr. Jeon beamed as I smiled at that as I brought my gaze to the one beside him as he had quite a disoriented look. "...wait what?"
"Appa, it's nice meeting you again!" I called out to the old man only to confuse Jungkook.
"'Meet him again?' You already knew him?"
"Yeah! He's the man I had coffee with yesterday," I exclaimed as I took a sip of my tea as he traveled his gaze back to the man beside him still stunned as he observed him.
I released a small cough gaining the attention of the older one as it worked and saw Mr. Jeon travel his gaze to me.
"I'm sure you two have some catching up to do, I'll keep Mrs. Jeon company," I said as I eyed Mr. Jeon as a signal to which he got as I saw him suddenly wrap his arms around the other one's shoulder as they left the room to go somewhere, only leaving me, Jungwoo, and Mrs. Jeon in the dining room.
"It makes so much more sense now," I heard Mrs. Jeon's delicate voice mentioned as I brought my gaze to her. "What does Eomma?"
"The fact that, the first time we met, I saw that son looks so much like mine!" She exclaimed as she took my hand into hers.
"I am just glad that my son is with you," She warmly said as I grew confused. "Oh? And why is that?"
"Well, my son seems like the happiest he's been all his life," She let out along with a tear as I brought myself to wipe it off for her.
"I just wanted to say thank you,"
"You're welcome Eomma," I said as I took a sip of my tea but then paused as I saw her uneased look.
"Eomma?" I inquired as I saw her bring her gaze to the little boy in my arms. "You were weren't married to Jungkook when I met you and Jungwoo, weren't you?" She inquired as I was taken aback...
"You can tell me the truth, I can even keep it a secret from my husband," She winked at me as that was what all it took before I'd surrendered and told her.
""
.
.
.
"So, how have you been?" I heard Appa suddenly ask as I still kept my gaze down, trying my best not to make eye contact with him, as I stared down at my folded hands as I sat down on the porch couch.
I guess I was shocked, shocked by the fact that I don't see the same cold father I used to see...
"It's been four years, can you at least say hi?" He continued as I began to lose my patience.
"Jungkook... come on.. speak to me-"
"Well, I'm sorry I wasn't speaking to you, I just can't pinpoint on how... why... you're like this, suddenly being the father I always wanted! Why weren't you like this when I was younger huh?! When I actually needed you!" I snapped as I stood up causing the older one to fall silent as he only listened to me.
"You want me to say a 'hi'? How can I? Whenever I said' hi' to you... every time... you answered back with a 'bye'," I scoffed as I felt something build up on my throat, knowing very well I was going to burst out crying any moment.

"Now? And just until now, you ask me 'how am I doing'? Since when the fuck did you actually gave a shit about my life Huh?!" I burst but this time coming a bit choppy as the lump on my throat was tough as I felt some tears begin to stream down my face as the heat on my nose was obvious, knowing it was bright red at this point.
"" I finally inquired the questions that were roaming in my head as I sat back down and dropped my head down as I cried silently...
"Why just now?" I heard him begin as I felt a sudden warm presence beside me, along with a hand laid on my back as I suddenly felt my once uncontrollable breathing calm down.
"Well, I suppose a man like me took a very long time to realize what truly meant to me, your happiness," He began as I suddenly felt my tears stop only leaving me to choke on my breath as I listened to him.
"What happened to me? I suppose I'm a late bloomer, only up to this point, I realized what a horrible... father... I was... It took me long to realize that, and since then, I have tried... tried my best to make myself a better father with the time I have left for you..."
"Now, as for your last question, I think that one is pretty clear enough son," He said as he took his hands from my back and kept them on top of my fist that rested on top of my thigh.
"Who am I?" He restated as I felt a wave of relief hit me... "" What Suyoung said came up to my mind as I felt myself smile at that...
He's a changed man, that's all that matters...
"I'm your father," I heard him as I felt a warm smile directed toward me as the old man's grip on my hand tightened.
As a wave of relief hit me as I let my father hug me from the side as I can't help but smile...
"Yes, yes you are,"
.
.
.
Now, isn't this a beautiful sight.
I stared right back at my husband who was joyfully speaking to his father once more, as I just can't help but smile at that... I looked to the person who sat across from him at the dinner table and saw Mrs. Jeon trying to help Jungwoo cut his dinner.
It didn't take long after I saw her gaze on Jungwoo as she chuckled.
"My, I'm glad Jungwoo was able to inherit our good looks," She mentioned as she, Mr. Jeon, and I chuckled at that but I can't help but stop my expression as I caught Jungkook's sudden change of look as he stared at Jungwoo, observing him.
"Jungkook?" I called out to him as it seems it was able to bring him back to his senses as my voice must've caused his sudden flinch back to reality.
"Hm? Sorry, I was just thinking about something," He smiled off as everyone else shook off his unusual behavior, it took me a while to shake it off and later on did but I still can't help but still feel suspicious...
"So Suyoung, how was your labor? How tough was it? What did Jungkook do?" She suddenly asked as I saw the way Jungkook had suddenly dropped his utensils at that and so did I, as I tried to think of something to say, I looked at Jungkook but it seems he was thinking of something else...

Should I say the truth right here, right now? Clear enough so that Jungkook could finally know the truth...
"Oh come on love! Look, you made them lose their appetite, let's talk about another subject, I'm sure they had enough of the image of the night, let's talk about Jungwoo's visits here, I call every Sunday!" Mr. Jeon exclaimed as he and his wife began speaking to each other of the matter but I was too focused on Jungkook's expression to comprehend what everyone else was saying as I only started to grow concerned for him.
.
.
.
"See you next week!" Mrs. Jeon exclaimed as she handed me the keys to her car. "See you next week! Yet again thank you for letting us borrow your car to get home!" I exclaimed towards the couple before turning right back in front of me only to see Jungkook situating a sleeping Jungwoo onto his convertible car seat. But as I was, I felt her hand softly grab mine, casuing me to turn myself back to her.
"Mrs. Jeon?" I called out to her as I saw a certain look she was giving me.
"Tell him," She told me as all I can do now I grow confused. But I gave her a reassuring nod but still was quite confused.
"Bye!" I said to them as I gave them one last wave before getting inside the car.
As soon as we got to the road I looked through the mirror and saw Jungwoo sleeping so soundly at the back as I chuckle at how adorable he looked. I placed my hand on Jungkook's thigh, rubbing it a bit to gain his attention.
"What is it, princess?" He asked a bit quiet to which I assumed was only because he was sleepy.
I pointed towards the little one at the back as soon as we stopped a red light. He looked right back and stared at Jungwoo for quite a long time as I saw his smile warmer but I still can't help but feel a hint of... sadness?
The second I was going to ask him what was wrong, the light has already turned green and brought the serious Jungkook back as he focused on driving instead, I stayed quiet for the rest of the ride, not wanting to disturb him as I leaned against my seat as I watched him with great concern...
.
.
.
"Good night Jungwoo," I let out to his already sleeping form on his bed. I gave another peck on the forehead. "I love you,"
"I love you too Eomma," I heard him groggily answer back as I saw a bit of his eye become visible as I saw him looking at me.
"Tell Appa I love him too," I heard him lastly said before drifting off to sleep once more as I chuckled at that.
"He already knows," I said lastly before getting up and leaving his bedroom. As I went down the hall to my bedroom, I can't help but feel a tense atmosphere as I trudged down the hallway, closer to our bedroom.
"Jungkook?" I called out as soon as I entered the room only to see his figure standing outside the balcony, looking up at the night sky.
I found myself quietly making my way toward him as every time I got closer, I heard him... crying? It didn't take me long after I suddenly crashed my arms around his waist causing him to flinch at first but then calmed down as I saw his once uncontrollable breathing become stable.
"Suyoung?"
"Love," I called out to him ever so softly.
"You can tell me what's been in your mind ever since you came back from that talk with your father, I thought it went well,"
"It did, but I guess I've j-just been thinking about some things... about Jungwoo... involving his father..." He mentioned to which I suddenly grew interested.
"Well, what's wrong?" I let out as I decided to play along.
"I-I was just wondering who Jungwoo's father is... who this man is,"
"Oh? Is that all? It seems like something else has been bothering you too," I mention as it seems he still had a few things left in his mind as I still sensed how tensed he seemed to the touch.
"...I d-don't know... maybe it's that... I can't help but feel... upset about the fact that... Jungwoo isn't my son, you know that connection you have with your parents? I never felt it until now and now thinking about it, I want Jungwoo to experience the same thing..." He said as I can't help but warmly smile at what he'd just said.
He found himself growing confused as I turned him around, taking his shoulder into my grip then holding his hand with my other as I extended it out as I got us into a dance position.
"Suyoung?" He called out as soon I began to move our bodies as if we were just dancing to some slow, calming, classical music.
"So, this connection you speak of... you don't feel it with Jungwoo?" I inquired which got him to suddenly think as I saw him flustered.
"I just thought it should be with his biological father-"
"I asked you Jungkook," I cut him off as I saw him suddenly grow relieved at that as I saw the look in his eyes soften.
"I do..." He said as I began to feel him finally move along with the dance.
"Then I don't see why Jungwoo has to meet his... father back then when he already has you," I let out to which I suddenly I finally saw a warm smile planted on his face.
"My love," I called out one more time as he answered with a soft "hm,"
"You're enough," I answered as I felt him suddenly turn my body over his arm as I twirled which only caused him to pull me back in as it caused me to crash into his warm embrace as at this point, we were hugging each other as we swung our bodies, taking steps from side to side.
"Jungkook," I called out to him one more time. "Do you love us?"
I felt his grip on me softened as he only began to caress my head and planted a kiss on my forehead.
"Of course," He simply said as I heard the sincereness which was enough to bring a sense of relief to me...
"We love you too," I answered back as I felt another warm smiled directed at me as something suddenly came up my mind.
"Tell him," What Mrs. Jeon told me earlier had just suddenly come up my mind as I found myself popping my head up at the man who stared back at me confused.
"What's wrong?"
