"Get out,"

My boss demanded before I could even come in the room completely, which shouldn't have surprised me figuring he's never let me in ever since that day, but I couldn't help but be personally offended.

I walked from a building to another to get these files in my tired arms and he won't even let me place these on his desk?

I tried not to scoff as it would only lead me kicked out of the office in less than a second.

Heck, we practically haven't seen each other this whole week I've been working for him.

He's always cooped up in his office as if avoiding me.

The only moments I get to take a single glance at the man is when he goes out for meetings or through a simple ad or poster I see everywhere in the city.

Not only has he been neglecting me, but he's been treating me like trash, excessively giving me tasks that are completely impractical.

Such as that time where he told me to print some copies on the first floor rather than print them up here, and may I include the printer didn't even include ink,

I accidentally dropped one file but as I was picking it up, the file opened and I saw a pink slip, curiosity took over me as I took it out and observed it but what I read brought me to silence.

So you mean to tell me each and every file on that pile I was just carrying, are employees who are getting laid off?

"You'll receive one for yourself if you don't move," My boss said from behind, startling me, as I was blocking his way, he was now coming out of his office with eyes still glued on his phone.

"Mr. Jeon, where are you going?"

I asked as I moved out of his way while he continued to walk toward the elevator, still ignoring my question.

"Pass those files to everyone you see on the second floor of the marketing department,"

He simply said without any guilt before going into the elevator, saying nothing else.

"He fired half of the employees in a department again,"

'Again', so it seems, this is something that has happened before or more.

"Why, and Which department was it this time?"

I heard people gossiped as I was now heading back to my desk after handing all those files to every single one in the second floor of the department who all had such an anxious face, did they already know what was to come?

"Oh, the marketing department, sales have gone down last week so maybe that's why,"

"Hey, quiet down will you, his new personal assistanT is right there,"

"It's fine, she probably won't even make it in time to snitch on the man before he fires her next, it's nearly been a week since she's been hired so she'll be fired by the end of this week, like every single one of his personal assistances,"

That was the last thing I heard before the elevator door closed.

...am I going to get fired?

-

It's been four years, a lot could happen but in the span of four years, how could a little source of warmth and light become something so cold and dark.

He stepped off of the elevator and was now heading toward his office, from the looks of it, some might say he's grown mature, but that isn't the case.

Though that face mostly presented maturity and honorability, you could still sense the coldness out of it, it's chilling.

I took one last glance at his face before it would disappear from my view but what I saw took me by surprise.

It seems there's something bothering him, the usual look he had as I had described before, showed a foreign look,

Before I could even ask him if anything was wrong, he had already closed the door.

He's a douche, but why do I still feel a bit of sympathy for him now, still having the temptation to come up to him to ask what was wrong.

I heard the ringing form the phone going off and so I answered it.

"This is Mr. Jeon's personal assistant speaking, how may I help you today?"

"Oh, can you please pass a message to Jungkook that I will be visiting him soon,"

"Do you have an appointment?"

"Uh, duh?" She said in a way that sorta pissed me off.

"Well of course then, may I know who this is from?"

I heard a scoff through the line, sounded sassy, I could already tell I didn't like this one.

"Oh sweetie, can't you tell from my voice? I am Kyung-Mi!"

"..."

Nope, never heard of the name before.

"The vice president of the partnered company?" She replied still expecting me to know.

.

"I'm afraid I'm not aware of the name 'Kyung-Min', but I will surely pass the message... sweetie,"

I got pretty tired of the tone she used, so why won't I respond back with the same tone?

"Yah! I heard the tone you used there, don't speak to me like that you mere assistant,"

I gave a small chuckle, trying to contain my laugh.

"It was nice speaking to you, Have a nice-"

"I could get you fired if I asked my kookie to, you little-" I cringed at the nickname.

I put the phone down before she could say anything else and to hide my dying state.

Oh, "kookie", who have you been associating yourself with these days?

My sympathy for Jungkook grew as I only wondered what more he had to handle throughout these years.

I fixed myself up as I stood up and walked toward his office door to inform him of well, just what happened.

I knocked but no response,

knocked again but no response.

I only grew concerned and decided to turn the knob, opening the door.

The elegant room was almost not visible as the room was dark from the thick blinds that blocked any source of light coming from outside.

The only source of light that brought the room somewhat visible was the light that was beaming out of the man's computer where he typed away.

his brows curved down, making his face look angrier than it already was, only chilling me even more.

"What do you need Ms. Kim," He said roughly, still not making eye contact with me as he typed furiously.

"Oh, well kook- Mr. Jeon, It seems you will be having a visitor soon, I believe her name is Kyung-Min,"

He gave no response, his look only became darker when I mentioned Kyung-Min, eh I totally understand.

"Would you like to postpone that visit?"

"Yes, may you also inform the security that she's now blacklisted,"

...How could he be so blunt about it, this man seriously needs some help.

"Of course Mr. Jeon,"

"Okay, you may leave now," Does he think I'm leaving him at this state?

He suddenly got confused as he saw me coming toward his window and pulling the blinds up.

"Ms. Kim?"

He then saw me pulling the other blinds up.

"What are you doing?"

Then I pulled the last one up, making the whole room lit, and making the mess around him visible.

I saw that look he was giving, pure confusion, coldness, and resentment. But I'm going to fix that up.

"Looks too dark in here, it says people work better in natural light,"

I heard him scoff.

"Ms. Kim-,"

"You look cranky too, have you gotten any sleep lately sir,"

His face grew disoriented.

"You have the audacity to call me cranky-"

"I suggest you don't keep your coffee next to your laptop sir, it might fall,"

I said as I picked his coffee mug up, placing it on the other desk.

He only kept quiet and observed me as if I was plotting something against him.

But after a few five minutes were over, I saw him go right back to whatever he was doing on his computer before.

"Sir, what do I do with these files," I asked him as I held the files in my hand.

"Oh, um, just place them here, I will go through them," He answered back as I followed him and brought the files to his desk but I found myself looking at him, focused on his tie.

His crooked tie was really getting to me so I unconsciously leaned down and brought my arms across the desk and tied it for him.

I felt him tense up and bring his gaze from the computer to me, the gaze was something...

I tried not to make any eye contact but the second we did we instantly locked it, you can't blame me for staring at these captivating beautiful brown orbs. I felt compassion...

I suddenly broke the serious eye contact when I felt him lift up his hand to caress my cheek but paused as I broke the eye contact.

"Hm, Jungkook, it seems you still don't know how to tie them do you?"

I commented before I finished tying it and lifted my body up from his figure and over the desk.

As I was about to walk away, I felt his grip wrap around my wrist and pulling me over the desk as I was now bending over the desk.

Our faces centimeters apart

and our eyes interlocking,

I felt my heart stop, what's happening?

"Mr. Jeon-"

"," The now standing man asked while looking down at me, calling me by name which brought goosebumps to appear on my skin.

"Exactly, what are you doing?"

"I don't know what you mean sir,"

"I asked, " He said, coming out a bit rougher.

"I was just helping you out as a fellow co-worker, who wouldn't help their boss out when it seems they're in need of help?" I let out genuinely, what else did he want me to say?

...

The expression he had before dropped, it grew cold, and dark once more. which only got me confused, what happened?

I felt his grip on my wrist loosen.

"Oh," He said, voice now rough but down.

I felt his grip on my wrist completely disappear as it dropped to his side as he now sat back down on his chair.

It grew silent.

None of us saying a word to each other.

Our eye contact broke and so did the silence when he looked right back and began typing.

I only stood there hoping for an explanation but he only continued.

"I don't need your help, ," He said, calling me formally, why did that suddenly hurt me?

"So I think I should warn you to not enter my office anymore unless asked to,"

He paused before looking right back at me.

""

He said... ever so coldly, shocking me...

"Y-you... never did?"

There was a moment of silence but he soon answered me, "Yes," he told me bluntly while looking me in the eyes, telling me enough that it was genuine.

And at that, I left, I walked out of the office heartbroken.

I felt the wet liquid trickle down my face as soon as I closed the door.

So, does that mean...

He never did love me that way did he, he probably didn't care that I left him...

this man...

He's a douche that's what he is,
