《Once More • J.Jk FanFic. ✔️》Chapter 11: Baffling Encounter

He stopped walking until he was only a foot away from me, completely towering over me, which wasn't the case compared to four years ago so clearly he grew.
His body seemed more built, his shoulders got a lot more broad making his hips and waist much slimmer than it already was. This man was ripped. His body didn't look like this four years ago.
His strong chest defined as I saw how it was shaped since his shirt's first few buttons was left unbuttoned. I could see the outline of his pecs.
But his lips still looked so kissable, the nose looked like it still welcomed me to boop it anytime, and then those eyes...
They were still those beautiful pairs of brown eyes that were perfect whenever it showed a sense of glee but unfortunately, those eyes I see in front of me didn't.
There, those eyes were undecipherable, but the expression he paired it with made it seem like he was irritated.
Perhaps he grew a grudge against me as I left him without an explanation and to only come back four years later.
But he has nothing to worry about, I didn't come back to be with him once more.
Why would I come running back to him when he told me clearly that day that he didn't want... a family with me.
That day when we fought, I asked him... he said no...
Little did he know that I was already carrying his child back then, he made it clear with that answer that he didn't want Jungwoo and so I granted his wish and left him.
From there I hoped to never cross paths with the man once more, much less he meet my son.
"Eomma!" Jungwoo exclaimed as he ran toward me, he jumped to me so that I could bring him up to my arms to carry him.
Then yet, here we are, in this situation, where the man I've been avoiding all these years for this situation is happening.
"Is he your son?" He suddenly asked with his deep raspy voice.
But what confused me the most was when the second I responded to the man with a shaky "yes", The already dark look he had, managed to become... darker...
They say the eyes are the windows to the soul and so I could understand from the look he's giving us as he diverted his gaze from me to Jungwoo is that...

everyone knows that look when someone hates you.
That piercing gaze that could kill obviously showing us that he hates what he's seeing.
The small "appa" Jungwoo let out as his smile from looking at the man dropped, me totally ignoring the fact that he just called his father "appa" as he has said it way too many times, I figured it's just out of habit at this point.
The innocent call to the man had no effect. The man still planted his piercing gaze at us.
The silence between us was just killing me, I dread to escape from this, I could no longer withstand the look he's giving us, I just felt like breaking down, along with Jungwoo.
The intense eye contact between each other broke as the man now kept a nonchalant gaze when lifting his head to look down at us before turning around, walking toward the exit.
"Miss Kim, I will be heading home early today,"
"So you can get going." He paused before turning around.
"It was nice meeting you again,"
He told me before turning back around and making his way out of the office.
-
I took my boss's suggestion and so was now making our way home as Jungwoo and I was walking toward the bus stop.
The sun was already setting despite the fact that we left early but my mind was too caught up at what had just happened this morning that I kept taking the wrong turns just to get to the bus stop.
I guess I just can't comprehend that,
Out of all the men that could have been my boss, it has to be him?
"Have you ever heard of the man Jeon Jungkook?" the girl asked the group of high school students in front of us.
"Oh, who doesn't, he is literally everywhere,"
Just when that other girl ended her statement, a particular ad came up in the billboard screen on the building in front of us.
Showcasing the man that's been the talk of the town, Jeon Jungkook.
It said before replaying another ad that yet again, showcased him.
Well, there is no point in denying it now, , Jungkook is now back in my life...
And the thing is, these ads are always playing but I never seemed to have taken the time to watch these to see what I was putting myself into...

I said hello to the night sky I found myself accustomed to. The strong-cold midnight breeze had nearly budged us as we were now walking home, with Jungwoo sleeping soundly in my arms.
The question "Should I quit?" roamed my head.
I wouldn't say I hate the man but I just dislike the fact that I will be working for him, he obviously changed as I did. But he seems, colder than before. But I don't blame him, it's been four years a lot has happened to both of us.
But that doesn't change the fact that I should quit..
-
"Should I quit?" I asked myself.
"Quit what?" Lhee asked from behind as he got out through the main door which surprised me.
I decided to stargaze on the stairway of the front porch right after I had put Jungwoo to bed as I suddenly felt like it would help clear my mind.
I had only remembered from Lhee's sudden voice popping out of nowhere that he just came back from well wherever he went to visit his "family business".
"So you're back," I asked him as I tried to avoid his question from before.
"Yeah, sorry about that Noona. The sudden call from my relatives just got me worried as they've never really contacted me before so I decided to go but it turned out to be nothing," He mentioned as he went down the stairway sitting right beside me.
"Oh, I get it, it's fine, but where did you go? I mean you were gone for a while."
"Oh, just back across the country to Busan, there were just family issues my relatives have with another family about or something, they just wanted to use me again and go back to there business or whatever that's why it took a while but overall... nothing much,"
"hm," I let out as I didn't know what else to say as it seems he didn't want to speak about it as I just let the topic drop and so it was now silent.
I didn't mind the silence but it seems the guy next to me was uncomfortable about it.
"So why did you come out here Lhee?"
"Oh, um... I just saw how you looked distressed from my room so I-I decided to check on you. I was about to leave but you suddenly asked me a question and then I thought you might want to talk about some things because of the distressed look you had so..."
"Oh, that question wasn't for you, I was just talking to myself, I know weird right?"
"No, no, no. It's totally not weird, but are you sure you don't want to talk about things?"
"..."
"Oh, I get it, it's fine if you don't want to talk, I'll just head back-"
"Should I quit?" I cut him off as he was about to stand up to head back.
"Quit what," He asked as he sat back down and faced me.
"My job,"
"Well, what's wrong?"
I paused before replying.
"Well, I just have this good reason to quit and there isn't a good reason for me to keep it, but yet, there's this feeling in me... telling me to stay,"
He only gave me a warm smile as a reply and gave me a small pat on the head.
"You know Noona, you're quite a boring person," He paused as he saw me reply with a little pout.
I heard him let out a slight chuckle before continuing.
"But I think that's because you're the type of person to always follow what is always logical and to always ignore that feeling. Sometimes choosing those things are what adds a bit of spark in your life? Or something more than you expected and that's a great feeling to have," He paused before looking at the night sky.
"So let loose,"
I took in what he said, it didn't take long for me to understand that he's right.
Maybe I shouldn't pass this opportunity,
"I should just let loose,"
"I won't pass this opportunity,"
"I just wonder, how much of an impact this decision would have in my life..."
Who knew...
that time marked a turning point in my life?
