《Him & I (Queen Shadow #1)》Chapter 10 (EDITED)

I was sitting on the edge of my chair that was positioned Infront of my make up table, strapping up the heels that Uncle Bill had given me to wear tonight. It's been two days since Uncle asked me for my assistance with their plan and my emotions are a complete mess. How is one supposed to react to this sort of situation?

Once I was done, I sat up straight and caught my reflection in the corner of my eye. The girl staring back at me looked nothing like me. I suppose that was the whole point, the hairdresser had put a blonde coloured wig on me covering my shiny blackish brown hair, I have black coloured contacts in, and my face was covered in makeup to make me look like a whole new person.

Uncle Jeremy said that it was just so once I was done with the "mission" no one would recognize me and target me. When those words left his mouth, I felt a rush of terror run threw me and hours later it has died down a little and replaced with nerves instead.

I have a bad feeling about all this, like something horrible will go wrong and can't seem to shake that feeling. The Unknown is a terrible, terrible thing it haunts people, in the back of their mind everyone thinks about the unknown but sometimes the unknown is better left simply unknown.

I carefully got up out of the chair and soothed out the creases in the long red satin dress it was very fancy and elegant I had to say it was a stunning dress simple yet stunning.

Letting out a big sigh I grabbed my clutch and walked down the hall to my Uncles office where I saw all these men in suits standing around. Both my Uncles were standing behind the big oak desk giving orders to the men.

"Bella, good you're here" Bill said making all their heads snap towards me. I could tell they couldn't recognize me, if they didn't already know it was me.

"Great so you already know what you have to do here is the women you have to distract, she is one of the most vile woman you will ever meet but say the right things earn her respect and she will talk your ear off. All you need to do is distract her long enough so she doesn't leave before 10 o'clock that will give us enough time to do our part of the mission" Bill explained to I nodded my head and opened up the manilla folder that I was handed. The folder held a picture of a women she had long silver hair that was let down it looked like she had just come off the red carpet event a couple of months ago it was held for a charity event but only the "elite" were allowed to attend. It also gave her age, height and basic statistics.

I gave them back the file after accessing for a few more minutes.

"Ok once we give the signal then you can get out of their" Jeremy said to me taking the file off the desk and skimming threw it himself. His face showed signs of disgust and anger for every page he flicked threw it grew worse.

"Well if we're all good let's go do this, Bella you will be in the car with Lincoln" Bill said guiding me out the door and to the garage with Lincoln following close behind us. Once we entered the garage Bill turned around and gave Lincoln the keys and whispered something to him which I could not catch but saw Lincoln nod his head in return.

"See you soon Bella, be careful" Bill said walking out of the garage. I got into the range rover silently not bothering to even spare a glance in Lincoln direction I know it will just make a fight happen between us both and that right now is the last thing I need.

I was unintentionally taping my foot nervously while Lincoln was driving us to our destination.

"Can you please stop it kid, it's getting on my nerves big time" he said to me immediately my foot went still, and I muttered out a quiet yeah and the car ride continued in silence from then on.

After ten minutes of driving Lincoln pulled out back of the most well-known club in Italy owned by none other than the woman I have to distract, her name is Cassandra Mayfield don't think it's her real name from what Jeremy has told me about her she has been on the run from quite a few people for a long time.

"Ok were here you can take the car and drop it around the front at the valet so it looks like your just another rich girl spending all of daddy's money and then once the mission is done you come and pick me up from here got it" he said to me sternly his face was rid of emotion. I knew from that minute that he meant business, and nothing was going to snap him out of it and something about that scared the living day lights out of me.

"Yes, now get out" I told him he grumbled something then hopped out of the car and into the alley, I climbed over the consul taking the end of the dress with me making sure it didn't get caught on anything and started driving back around to the front of the club.

They had made me a fake id so there was going to be no trouble getting in looking like a whole new person. I hop out of the car and handed the keys to the valet who was waiting, I offered him a smile and made my way inside walking through the huge glass doors. The inside of the club was dimly lit and had black walls with navy blue cushioned seats spread around in certain areas surrounding the middle of the room which held the dance floor bodies were scattered everywhere it was very hard to navigate your way through the crowds seeing that no one made an effort to move out of the way.

Pushing my way up to the bar area, I pulled out one of the bar stools to take a seat. I didn't want to appear suspicious, but I am only sixteen years old and never in my life been into a club I didn't know how to act. Especially in a sophisticated club like this.

"Hello miss, can I get you anything tonight?" the bar man appeared in front of me with a smile on his face, I nervously smiled back at him.

"Just water please for now" I said to him not wanting to appear odd in anyway, but it would be more suspicious of me if I ordered a acholic drink and didn't have even a sip of it.

"Of course, miss" he replied walking off to get a glass from the shelf. As I waited for my drink to arrive. I observed the people trying to spot the lady I was supposed to distract for the night.

"Miss here is your drink just let me know If you need assistance with anything else" the bartender said I snapped my head back around on his direction and smiled.

"Thank you" I said taking my drink off the counter and holding it in my hands. I scanned the room for another 10 minutes but nothing I started getting very frustrated at how long it was taking me to find her is she even here? I thought to myself. I sighed when I heard someone sit down beside me, I just kept my eyes trained on the glass of water that I was fiddling with.

"Hello, can I please get a martini" I heard the voice say to the bartender from beside me it was a girl's voice by the way there was a little pitch to it as well. I felt her eyes on me and I felt very uncomfortable. I turned my head and locked my gaze with hers she is gorgeous, long silver hair, big blue eyes, tan skin she was your typical looking supermodel, I gave her a small smile.

"May I help you?" I asked politely. She stared at me for a few seconds and it started making me very nervous, but no matter what I didn't let it show.

"I'm sorry, I was just admiring your dress it's stunning" she said to me cracking a tiny smile.

"Thank you so much" I said giving her a smile.

"I'm Cassandra" she introduced herself then it all clicked who she was. She is the one I am supposed to be keeping distracted.

"Lovely to meet you, I'm Lila" I said to her making sure to use my alias name.

"You have lovely style and your hair its stunning" she said seeming to warm up to me, but something was off about the whole thing, it was too quick, and I did not like it one bit.

"Thank you, so do you" I said to her turning my whole body to her.

"Do you come here often I haven't seen you before" she asked me, just when I was about to answer her, I saw Lincoln slip threw one of the doors and he was scratching his ear. Making it known to me to keep distracting her, I wish they would have picked a better sign then that, it seemed so cliché.

"Uhm no actually first time here" I said to her snapping out of the trance I was in and replied to her question.

"Oh... well then let's get you a some alcohol no point in drinking water" she said I tried to mask the fear that crossed my face knowing that I can't have alcohol. I wouldn't know how I would take it I've never had a sip in my life of that stuff.

"That is so nice of you... but I'm not really a drinker" I said to her calmly, she looked at me with a smirk on her face, it made me uneasy.

"You are so young honey, give it a try" she said to me reaching over to touch my arm I so badly wanted to pull away I couldn't I was frozen in place, letting out a nervous chuckle I looked down at my shoes when I felt a presence behind me.

"May I have a dance pretty girl" I turned around and saw one of my uncles' men standing there holding his hand out for me to take, I saw the look in his eye like he was commanding me. I softly nodded my head and turned back around to face Cassandra.

"I hope you don't mind if I go dance, do you?" I asked her to offer a smile.

"Of course not go have fun I hope to see you later Lila" she said waving the bartender over for what I am guessing is to order another drink. I took his hand and walked with him to the dance floor I felt very awkward, but he twirled me around before pulling my body flush against his. To another couple it would like he was hugging me.

"Lincoln has been compromised he is in trouble I have to get you out to the car and then go into help" he said my eyes went wide. Suddenly his phone buzzed he picked it up and looked at the message.

"Shit, I need to go now there is no time to make it look like we are leaving together otherwise you will be compromised as well, you will just have to come with me" he said dragging me to the door Lincoln went through.

"Wait why didn't you take me straight to the car?" I questioned him not understanding why in the world he didn't just do that.

"Because I had asked you to dance Infront of Cassandra at first she was watching us like a hawk she would of knew something was up if I took you straight to the exit she knew something is wrong to her we are just strangers" he said while rushing down the dark hall with me trailing behind trying to keep up with him. Finally, after what felt like forever of running down the halls, we turned into a room and the sight alone made me sick, I quickly ducked around the corner of the door out of their sight.

Who knew a task that was supposed to be so "easy" could turn out to be one of the hardest yet.
