Aerglo is too afraid to hold the baby, afraid of losing them like xe nearly lost xyr mate. But the baby is demanding, tiny hands outstretched and begging to be picked up as they cry softly.
A tired and pained groan from the bed immediately draws xyr attention.
Aerglo can't help but breathe in relief.
He's been gone for too long, comatose as his body healed the worst of the damage.
He's tired and disoriented, but alive.
And Aerglo can't help but hold him close, hug him tight.
"Aer?"
"They're here," Aerglo whispers.
Caelum knows. Aside from feeling so empty, he can hear the little sounds of indignation and anger coming from the white bassinet pressed by their bed on his side.
He wants to look, to hold them, but he doesn't want to let go of Aerglo just yet.
He doesn't want to stop when he knows Aerglo is so scared of letting him go.
"I'm okay," he whispers, "I'm sorry, Aer, sorry I scared you."
"'s okay, you're okay."
Aerglo closes xyr eyes, xe can still see Caelum, growing weak and pale, breathing slowing to a stop as he bled out. It was a sight xe never wants to remember.
Losing him...
Xe's lost too many people.
Aerglo shakes xyr head from those memories, and forces xemself to let go.
Immediately, Caelum misses xyr warmth, but he can't help but peer over the laced edge of the baby cot.
Inside, he finds the tiniest of newborns, kicking and whining, bottom lip trembling and close to tears.
Caelum looks up at Aerglo, "can I hold them?"
"Yes," Aerglo nods, "of course you can hold him, evol."
Aerglo is still scared of picking up the baby, still scared of hurting him, but the light weight feels good. Like it belongs there.

Caelum's own arms ache.
"He hasn't eaten," Aerglo informs, "hasn't wanted to eat, but Dr. Vega says he's fine. Small but healthy."
Caelum frowns. He's so light, so tiny. The sight makes his heart ache.
Aerglo helps Caelum maneuver the baby, carefully slipping off his shirt until his chest is exposed. They help their little one latch on and he eats hungrily, tiny fist curled on his chest as he nuzzle and drinks. Aerglo sits behind Caelum until xyrs arms help hold the baby when Caelum gets weak.
"Halo," Caelum whispers suddenly, "his name."
Caelum looks behind him, quietly searching for Aerglo's gaze, for xyr approval.
"Halo Novak-Halcyon," Aerglo smiles, pressing a kiss to his head before kissing Halo as well.
Royal Heir Halo Novak-Halcyon.

Overwrite
In a future where people still work 9-5 jobs and students wrangle with their unpayable debts, virtual reality has become an everyday activity. Ryu, a typical teenage boy with not-so unique interests, is unnaturally average, and, unfortunately for him, this extends to the virtual world. However, where some would say “work harder,” Ryu says “work less,” and so he cheats. Or at least he tries.

How A Villain Builds A Kingdom
READ THE WARNING Amadeus Devereux was born into a rich and powerful household. But he did not pursue power like his brothers because of his love for art, flowers, and poetry. Until one day, a servant arrived in the garden to see Amadeus smiling as if he was looking at a flower. Only this time, Amadeus was looking at the mangled corpses of two gardeners. ————————— Set in a fantasy world where magic exists, follow Amadeus as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery. Will he be able to feel emotions as others do? This is a novel that I wrote because I got tired of all the tropes that had transmigration, regression, deus-ex machina, etc. where everything that makes the main character reach the top is left to luck. —————————

The Destiny Detour
In a kingdom putting together the pieces after a series of devastating magical wars, trouble is brewing. At least that's what the Seer's vague warning to Princess Lillya claims. That warning sends young Sorceress Rosaliy and enigmatic ruffian Drake from one end of the world to the other searching for answers (and lost magical children). The Destiny Detour is third in the Black Pearl Series, but the events of this story occur 10 years after the first two, and it focuses on different characters in the world. It should be able to stand alone. If you are interested, the beginning of the series is available on Amazon and most e-book places: https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B01AYLLKK8

Voidsong (A NaNoWriMo 2018 winner)
Synopsys: The Empire thought humanity died, and forgot all about it. The Empire is mistaken. A Note From the Author: This story was written as a National Novel Writing Month 2018 entrant. As such, its entire 50,000+ word length was written between November 1, 2018 and November 31, 2018. Overall, I would consider this no more than a polished draft. In that vein, the chapters have no names, only numbers. Special thanks to Chronus on youtube for answering my questions on NATO radio procedures! My Apologies to the Finnish Language, which I have abused in (probably) unforgivable ways to create Twisted Empire names. If anyone is interested, break the names up by commas and toss them into your favorite translation program (I used Google Translate, and tried to avoid umlauts and other accents) for some semi bilingual boni. If I got something wrong (and I know I did… somewhere…) let me know over on reddit and I will see what I can do to fix the mistake. Lyrics, where included, are cited in footnotes.
