《Nerd Is A Babysitter ✓》Epilogue

"Dante, stop, we have work to do." I pushed him off before going back to my laptop where I was emailing our investors for the grand party that was going to be taking place tomorrow.

We usually didn't pass notice this late, as in, just in a day or two late, but because the Ceo of the company Mr. Dante Knight forgot to inform me about the grand function that was organised tomorrow, I had to fill in extra hours to sweep the mess that he dusted.

"Let me work on you." He whispered, huskily in my ear and bit my earlobe making me close my eyes in pleasure and as much as I wanted to close the laptop and kiss the living daylights out of him, I had to be rational and finish the work.

"Babe, you have mentioned it many times how important tomorrow's gala is for you, so stop being a horny teen and let me complete my work in peace or else my boss will think that I am slacking on my work." I whispered back and gave him a small peck on the lips before going back to the laptop.

"I'm sure, your boss won't mind it, at all." He shut the laptop and pushed it aside before turning my chair and pulling his face closer.

"He won't?" I inched my face closer to his, so close that out lips almost brushed. I saw him gulping looking at my lips that I was purposefully biting because I knew how much it turned him on.

"No." His voice came out hoarse and low.

"Even if I messed up tomorrow's gala?" I bit his lip and he moaned, his eyes dark with lust.

"Yes."

"But I do mind." With that said, I pushed him away and turned my chair before starting the laptop again and going back to work, "So, do me a favor and don't distract me."

"Fuck, you really had to do me like that?"

"Yes, now go and sleep. I know you haven't been sleeping properly for the past few nights and you are not even telling me what's bothering you." I said, typing an email to one of our best investors, Mr. Shalon.

"It's just the gala." He replied, rubbing his face and sitting on the chair across, letting out a tired sigh.

"You know what's bothering me?"

"What?"

"That you have not told me what this gala is all about. All you said was it is really important for you and you don't want to mess it up, but that's it. What is it that you are hiding from me, Mr. Knight?" I turned my head towards him to which he instantly stood up and started walking away.

"You know what, you are right. I should go and get some sleep, I am really tired. Plus, you don't want me to disturb you, right?"

"Wait— babe, come back!" But he was already gone. He was acting really fishy these few days and my curiosity was reaching it's peak.

Dante and I had been in a relationship for almost four years now, infact, tomorrow was our four year anniversary and these four years of our life went by in a complete bliss. Never once had it occurred to me that I was better off without him, infact I felt lucky that I had a man like Dante by my side.

His possessiveness over the years had increased, apparantly, I had grown more beautiful and he didn't want any man to sweep me away from right under his nose. I had told him many times that he had nothing to be worried about, but I guess it was just an excuse for him to be protective over me without me questioning him.

After both of us completed our Degree in Business in Montreal itself, I started working in Knight & Co. as a personal assistant and I was hired for this post not just because I was Dante's AKA the Ceo's girlfriend, but also because I had done internship in this very company under Dante's father, the former Ceo of Knight & Co., also the one who kept giving me stinky eye until he realised I was not after anyone's money and then started treating me like his daughter, Paul Knight.

I started doing internship under him in my last year of graduation and I worked my butt off to get good grades and improve my personality before Paul and I guess I succeeded in doing that because as soon as I completed my graduation, I was offered the job of PA by none other than Paul and that was the proudest moment of my life. I literally had tears in my eyes when he kissed my forehead and said how he was wrong in judging me and apologized for his behaviour for all these years.

Better late than never.

I never knew what I wanted to pursue in my life, but one time when Dante was talking about how he wanted to pursue his degree in business because he was going to take over his dad's company and didn't want to let him down, I did some research in the study of business and thought maybe doing graduation in business was not that bad of an idea. One year into the university and I realised how passionate I was about business and I actually enjoyed doing it.

My cupid arrow had already been hit by the end of our highschool when Ethan finally proposed Stella on the prom night and she said yes, blushing like crazy. I should totally write that down in the list of my great achievements. I had not seen them in a while and by while, I mean in the last four months as they decided to move out of the country and go to NYU to study and roam at the same time.

Even though their graduation was already completed, they still decided to stay there for few months and explore. The last I saw them was when they came here four months back for just two weeks on a small vacay and the departure after that was more heartbreaking than the initial. Dante literally had to coo me like a baby for the entire week and have movie marathons for three constant nights.

He won my heart again that week.

Both of them were already engaged— cue drum rolls, please— and were going to get married next year, oh and did I mention Stella did Fashion designing and was going to design their own wedding dresses? Silly me, must have forgotten.

"Finally." I mumbled under my breath and shut the laptop off before grabbing my purse and walking out of the cabin. My driver, Alex Derulo, a young man of twenty nine was already waiting for me by the entrance and on looking at me, he got out of the car and held the door open for me,

"Alex, how many times do I have to tell you to not do all these formalities?"

"Until you start accepting my generous actions." I laughed a little at this and soon we were off to our apartment.

No, not Alex and I's, Dante and I's.

Soon, the car halted to a stop and I got out of the car bidding him goodnight and a thank you, "All the best for the big day tomorrow, Avelyn."

"Thank you." I passed him a confused smile and started walking towards the elevator. Alex and I shared a pretty good bonding, like brother-sister bonding which was not liked by Dante at all.

Pretty boys are dangerous, stay away from them—His words, not mine.

When I entered the apartment, I found it eerily quiet, indicating that Dante was fast asleep. Locking the door behind me, I started walking towards our bedroom and as expected, he was sleeping on his side of the bed, cuddling the pillow like a baby. My heart melted instantly at the sight.

Not wanting to disturb his peaceful sleep, I walked towards the bathroom with light steps and did my night routine, before slipping inside the covers and falling into a deep slumber not before giving him a soft kiss on the cheek.

~

"Baby, come on, we are already five minutes late!" I heard Dante's impatient butt yelling from the bedroom.

"Two minutes more!"

"You've been saying this from the past twenty five minutes!"

"Beauty takes time, honey."

"Good thing, you are a natural beauty then." There goes my heart.

"Stop blushing and come out already." Impatient butt.

I opened the door of the bathroom and walked out making him stop abruptly for a moment. His eyes went wide open taking in the sight of me. His eyes roamed from the bare skin of my legs that was peeking through the thigh high slit to the slightly exposed cleavage.

I was wearing a floor touched red dress with a slit and off shoulder, diamond studded neckline. My hair was tied in a messy bun with a strand falling loosely in the front. My makeup was done soft and glam by none other than me, ofcourse, because that's the only thing I've learnt overtime from Stella.

"Aren't we getting late now?" I smirked and started walking out of the door, "Come on, babe. Don't be standing there and gawking at me, let's get going."

"You are such a fucking tease." He muttered and held my hand before we started walking towards our car and to the gala.

Thirteen minutes later, we were standing out of the hotel where the gala was organised. Even before stepping inside, I could feel the population. Taking in a huge breath, I smiled at Dante who was lovingly looking at me, "You are looking beautiful, love."

"Not more than you."

"I always knew red was your colour." He winked at me and I blushed profusely.

"Are we still on that?!"

"We will always be on that baby, now come on. There are some people I want you to meet."

Fifteen minutes into the hotel and I was suddenly engulfed into a tight, unbreathable hug. Now, in any other circumstances, I would have kneed them in their, erm, junior, but considering how I knew this person with all my heart and I haven't met them in the entire month, I hugged them back.

"Blaze!" I squealed happily, making him pinch my cheeks.

"Baby girl, how are you?"

"Much, much better now that you are here. You tell me, how is Eva and how did the honeymoon go? Shall I expect Blaze juniors running around soon?" Yes, folks, he got married two months back.

Hard to digest, but it will soon.

"Remember me?" A deep voice said from behind me and I squealed loudly before turning around and giving them a tight hug to which they laughed, the sound of their laughter reverberating my body

"I missed you so much!"

"Liar."

"I promise!"

"Then why didn't you call?" He asked, crossing his arms over his chest.

"That was just two times in twenty seven days!" He was gone on some business trip taking care of one of their hotels somewhe in Europe. He had taken over his dad's business, just like Dante and the same goes for Blaze.

Typical best friends.

"I wonder what must be keeping you so busy." He suggestively remarked, making my cheeks the replicas of red apples.

"Where is Susan and Zoey?" I asked, Klaus while looking around for them. Susan was Klaus' girlfriend and I could clearly see the love between them. He had told me that he was going to propose her very soon and I couldn't wait for them to just get married. They both were college sweethearts.

"Having a chat with Ethan and Stella."

"THEY ARE HERE TOO?!" My loud voice attracted some attention, but that was least of my concern right now as my eyes were busy frantically searching for two of my bestest friends.

"Lower down your voice a little, will you? You are catching enough attention with your hotness already." There was only one person who openly flirted with me and that was one and only, my dashing best friend and an event organiser,

"Ethan! I missed you so much."

"Just him?" Stella's voice came from behind him and I shed a small tear looking at her. This was all really heartwarming for me.

"Not that I am not happy to see you all here, but why all of a sudden? You guys didn't even give me a heads up!" All of them gave me evil, mischievous smiles making me scared as to what was exactly going on.

"We are Dante's business partners." Klaus and Blaze spoke at the same time, making me nod my head at them in understanding.

"But I didn't send you guys any invitation letter."

"That's because Dante personally invited us."

"Okay and what about you two?" I turned my head towards Ethan and Stella.

"I designed your dress."

"I organised the party."

"It's bomb." I replied.

"What is?" Both of them asked, simultaneously.

"The dress, the party, you guys, everything. But it still doesn't answer my question as to what you guys are doing here and— Wait a minute, where is Dante? Why didn't he tell me you guys were also going to come? He literally vanished after introducing me to Mr. Watson."

None of them said a word and suddenly, everything went dark and rays of light fell upon me. Everyone went silent, waiting for someone to speak. My curiosity was reaching another level of curiosity and I felt like a kid who couldn't solve a puzzle.

As if all of this was not enough, I heard someone, a very specific someone, clearing their voice over the mic to get the attention, "Avelyn,"

Dante.

"I never thought love was made for me, I never thought I would ever go this far in a relationship with someone, never in my entire life did I thought I would want them to wrap me around their cute, little finger,—" A small laugh escaped my lips and I tried to calm my over hyped heart not wanting to ruin anything for anyone,

"—but then you happened. You entered my life like a storm changing everything for me. You changed the perspective of my life, you changed all of my thoughts about love and if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have known what a real love feels like." With every word he spoke, he took a step closer, the light over his head moving along with him,

"I know you are very curious as to what I am doing and why did I planned this gala all of a sudden, but all of this will make sense real quick." And then he bent down, he freaking bent down on one leg and grabbed a diamond ring out of his pocket, a freaking diamond ring,

"Avelyn Summers, you are the most beautiful thing that has ever happened to me and I can't imagine even one second of my life without you. Our relationship right now is temporary, would you do the honours of making it permanent by being my wife?" The crowd gasped, some whistled and some waited in anticipation, while me?

Well, I stood there crying Niagara in front of everyone.

"Always the attention seeker." I whispered to him, bringing my left hand forward. He slipped the ring into my third finger and stood up, grabbing me close from the waist, planting a small kiss on my lips making my already fast heartbeats run for a marathon.

"Would you like to be called Mrs. Knight?" He asked, looking straight into my eyes and I, without any doubt, nodded my head,

"Yes, yes I would love to be called Mrs. Knight." We kissed, a slow and passionate kiss, the sound of others had vanished a long time ago. Soon, we pulled back and rested our foreheads against each others,

"There is someone in the crowd who is glaring and smiling at me, both at the same time." He whispered and I furrowed my eyebrows at him,

"Who?"

"Noah."

"He is here too?!"

"And your parents."

"Why am I getting to know all this just now?!"

"Because I love you and I would keep on surprising you with the things you love till my very last breath." He said, in between a small and a gentle kiss.

"You have no idea how much I love you." I whispered back.

"Trust me baby, I know."

And then the party began, celebrating the joys of our engagement and a new turn of our lives, the most beautiful turn of our lives.
