"So, you and Dante, huh?" Zoey asked and my cheeks instantly turned red at the mention of his name which she instantly caught and started laughing, "You've got it really bad, girl!"

"It's nothing like that." I tried to brush off the topic, but she was adamant on knowing our status, heck, even I wanted to know our status.

"Don't you like him?" She asked, crossing her legs and tying her hair into a messy bun after trying a million times to stop them from covering her right side.

Hair can be irritating sometimes.

"I do." I replied honestly and to be frank, it felt really good talking about my feelings loudly. No doubt, Stella, Ethan and I had talked about this particular topic before, but for some reason there was this different kind of comfort in talking with Zoey. Maybe because as Klaus had mentioned many times, we were both alike in many terms and no, the chemistry of similar repel didn't work for us.

"But?" She asked, looking at the hesitance on my face.

"I don't know, Zoey." I shrugged my shoulders and adjusted myself against the pillow, comforting myself before continuing, "I like him, I really do. He is the sweetest guy I've ever met, he can be possessive and overly jealous at times, but those are all the qualities that makes him, him, you know?"

She nodded her head in understanding and motioned me to continue, "We both are opposites at many things, but that's what pulls us together. I have seen him many times sacrificing his parties for me and then he does this small little gestures that makes me fall for him everyday, little by little and the idea of losing him scares me."

She patiently listened to me in understanding, without making a single sound except for few 'mhmms' and 'yeahs' and when she found me almost at the verge of tears, she held my hand and rubbed soothing circles at the back of my hand with her thumb and sat closer,

"You are scared of being with him because you hate the idea of losing him, is that what is stopping you?" I nodded my head and looked up trying to stop the tear from escaping. I had always been like this, crying over small matters, at times people had called me a crybaby for crying over a broken eraser in primary, incompletion of homework in middle school and now here I was, crying over a guy in high school.

I never thought this day would come.

"You like him, Avelyn, you really do. Please, don't let your negative thoughts come in between your relationship with him. Atleast give it a try, you don't want to live your entire life thinking about what would your status with him have been if you would have just give it a go, do you?"

And then my stupidity sink in.

"You are right. You are absolutely right." I said, standing up from the bed, very refreshed, might I add.

"And I am stupid, absolutely stupid." I muttered under my breath, but Zoey's laugh made me realise how I had not been that quiet.

"You are." I gave her 'the' look and she quiet down instantly trying to stifle her laugh.

Atleast my glare work on her, I thought.

Not even two seconds later, she went into hysterics of laughs and sobs, making me roll my eyes at her, "S-Sorry." She said in between her laughs, but making no attempt to stop the laugh.

So much for apologizing.

"Fine, I am leaving!" I flared my hands in the air, dramatically and walked out of the room, Zoey following me right behind, "Wait, I am sorry!"

"I'm not leaving because you were laughing at me—" she breathed a sigh of relief, "—partly, but because it's too late and I am yet to inform my friends and family about the reason why I bunked school today. Don't want them to think someone kidnapped me or something."

"Mean." She muttered and now, it was my time to laugh at her.

"Where is Klaus?" I asked, as we walked down the stairs— feeling like a princess straight out of the Disney movie.

"Living room, maybe." She replied.

We started walking towards the living room where I could hear loud voices, very familiar voices making me speed up and literally sprint towards the living room. My eyes widened at the scene unfolded before me and I ran towards Klaus who was lying on the floor, groaning in pain.

I put his head on my lap and ran my fingers over his cheek where I could see an ugly bruise forming, "Are you okay? Do you want me to get some ice?"

He winced as I put a little more pressure over the bruise and I instantly started muttering a series of sorrys, "Yes, I want you to get the ice," And when I started to get up, he added, "but not for the bruise, for his burn." I lifted my head up and found Dante standing there with his fist clenched tightly. Blaze, Stella and Ethan stood behind him giving me nervous, curious and angry glances—the angry one coming from Stella to be more specific.

"What is wrong with you?!" I asked, lifting Klaus' head from my lap and helping him stand which he didn't really need, but just in case.

"You are asking me?!" Dante growled back.

"He is not the one who punched you."

"But he is the one who brought you to his house."

"So?" I asked, my eyebrows raised up in confusion.

"Why were you not picking up any of our calls?" He asked, stepping closer and my heartbeats started racing accordingly.

"I forgot it in Klaus' car." I answered and he glared at Klaus. I was seriously confused at this point.

"You fucking liar!" He lunged towards Klaus again, but I stopped him and asked, "Why did you punch him, Dante?"

"Because!"

"Because what?" I asked, again, but this time the answer came from Blaze, "Because Klaus made it sound like you both were doing the deed." He finger quoted the word deed and this time it was my turn to glare at Klaus.

"What did you say?" He simply shrugged his shoulders and replied in a nonchalant manner, "Nothing much."

"Will anyone just tell me what the hell is going on?!" I flared my hands in the air and waited for atleast someone to answer my question and when Ethan opened his mouth to reply, I was more than happy to know what was going on and even happier when I realised why Dante punched Klaus, heck even I pressed his cheek a little and made him wince,

"Fast forward to when Dante asked him why he brought you to his home, he replied with he doesn't need to worry about anything as you were having the best time of your day and when Dante further asked as to what you were doing, he replied with, something that includes screaming, laughing and fun and the rest is history."

"I wasn't lying though." Klaus replied and I shook my head at the idocity of these boys.

"Why were you jealous though, it's not like you are her boyfriend." Ethan smirked, making Dante glare at him and if I didn't have this plan on making him more mad, I would have motioned him to shut up, but because I knew exactly what I wanted to do, I said,

"Exactly."

"You fucking serious right now, babe?!" He was getting mad with every passing second and I was trying really hard to supress my smile.

"Ofcourse, I am."

"You never said yes to me." His voice lowered down an octave and my heart saddened at the pain that hid behind his voice.

"You never proposed." His eyes widened at my response and he came closer, holding my upper arms with his hands and stood right before me and asked, "Okay then, I'll propose now."

Then he took a deep breath and asked, "Avelyn Summers, would you like to be my girlfriend and be my forever and ever?"

"Yes."

"Yes?"

"Yes."

"YES!"

I laughed at his reaction and he crashed his lips onto mine with a perfect sound of claps and hoots in the background by none other than my precious friends and then I learnt a very important lesson of life, that sometimes you don't have to live in past or future, you just have to live in present and embrace whatever life provides you with.
