I stepped forward, seeing if Jae-eun would accept the challenge. She looked at me for a second before stepping up as well. Jae-eun stood tall, our heights matched—our eyes at the same level.

Her eyes held no fear, like I was a nobody to her. I knew that she wasn't and will never be the same person she was a few months ago. It's like a flip switched—to turn her emotions off.

We both stood tall, our fists clenched at our sides. Ae-cha didn't seem to interrupt, so she must've been standing on the sidelines.

I took my gun out of it's holster, pointing it at Jae-eun. "You've taken everything from me." I whispered.

"Everything I've done was for you, I trusted you!" My arms didn't shake, I was upset—angry even. Jae-eun seemed to have stayed quiet, but had stepped closer to me when her arms raised in surrender.

"I'm still here, Y/N." Jae-eun whispered, her innocent smile showing. I can't fall for her tricks.

She stepped closer, my gun still aimed on her. Jae-eun was only a foot away now, I gulped.

Within seconds, her hand grabbed my wrist as she knocked the gun out of my hand.

Jae-eun smirked, "let's call this a fair fight. No gun." She smirked as she slowly backed away.

I placed my hands in front of me, making a blocking position. "Come on," I said through gritted teeth.

I haven't been able to use these skills in a real situation, so this could really tell me how I've been doing.

Jae-eun swung first, but I was quick enough to predict that she would—so I shuffled to the side, a pain hit my jaw as my whole mouth felt crushed. Jae-eun had delivered an uppercut right after I blocked that punch, like she was one step ahead of me.

I held my jaw, groaning as I pushed myself back up from the floor. I found her smiling and smirking to herself.

I'll give you something to smile about.

I shook my head block the stinging sensation that had stopped me from doing anything and I finally took over. My arms pushed myself onto the floor swiftly, her eyes burned into me as I walked to her.

Jae-eun threw an arm, trying to hit my head but I grabbed her wrist and sent a blow towards her stomach. It was hard enough for her to stumble and hold onto the railing. Not good enough. I sent my fist flying into her face, causing her to have a small blackout. Her body fell onto the wooden floor as she lied unconscious.

I hadn't realized how quickly her blackout was until Jae-eun swiftly pulled my legs up from under me. Gravity pulled me down to the ground, my head hitting first. I don't understand how I didn't blackout, either.

"Aish," I groan as I hit the floor. I hold my head in between my arms as Jae-eun nudges me with her feet. I also didn't realize how quick she had gotten up, or how long I've been on the floor.

"Get up Y/N," Jae-eun scolded.

I groaned, placing my arms below me as I pushed myself up—only to be kicked back down. "I didn't know you knew how to throw punches," she smirked. "They're pretty solid, Bangtan must've trained you well." Jae-eun placed her hands into her pockets.

"Well, we all have surprises." I commented before kipping up and sending her a roundhouse kick. That must've hurt.

My mini celebration was interrupted as Ae-cha decided to throw an inexperienced punch at me. She punched my shoulder, missing my face. Not to mention, it didn't hurt at all.

I stalked towards her after her failure as she slowly backed away from me. Ae-cha has backed up to a wall, giving her no place to go. I threw my fist at her face, hearing a slight crack as blood spurted everywhere. Oops?

"Hey, princess!" I hear a voice mock from behind. I turn around and see Jae-eun pulling a pocket knife out. Her fingers moved and flipped it around with no mistakes. It was as if the knife was her feeling of safety.

Knives, though, was the only only thing I didn't get proper help and training on. By the looks of it, I can't wing it, either.

Jae-eun places the knife in her right hand, swinging the knife at me like they were nunchucks. I tried to avoid them as much as I could, but it sliced my skin more than a couple of times.

It was going to leave scars.

"Agh!" I scream as the knife slices my arm. Jae-eun smirks, knowing my weak spot. I try turning away but another fist is thrown at me, my face this time.

My whole face felt numb. I held my nose, turning around as the knife almost slices my leg. How the hell am I going to win this now? Whenever I turn back, a fist comes to my face, but if I continue, the knife slices me.

The same cycle repeats a couple of times and I feel dizzy. I couldn't get out of it.

My breath is heavy and my adrenaline finally kicks in. Let's fuck this up.

I dodged the knife, turning around to send my arm back and reflect to Ae-cha—knocking her unconscious. I looked around, finding my gun on the floor. Jae-eun seemed to seek it at the same time I did, and we both went for it.

I pulled her hair back, throwing her into the ground as I retrieved my gun.

I turned around, aiming at Jae-eun as she slowly got up. Her eyes widened and suddenly her knife is useless.

Unfortunately, my adrenaline ran out. I clutched my stomach, which has a deep cut as I fall to my knees, my gun dropping onto the floor next to me.

Jae-eun chuckled, walking slowly over to me as I feel something sharp trace over my skin. "So...weak." She says in a singsong voice.

"Step away from her!" I hear a voice yell, not having to look up to know it was Jungkook. It was followed by a few grunts here and there. I looked up to find all 7 of them were still fighting Jae-eun's men. They must be stronger than all the other people Bangtan has fought.

Jae-eun looked at Jungkook, finding the voice that told her to back off. With Jae-eun distracted, I take this moment to grab her head and flip her over to the ground with much effort. My body felt tired, and I couldn't move around too much or the bleeding would get worse.

I grab my gun from the floor and I aim it at her, feeling no remorse or regret for what I'm about to do. "Really Y/N?" Jae-eun started. "You'd really kill your childhood best friend?" She slowly crawled up to her feet as she spoke.

"You would really kill the person that was only there for you when nobody else was? The only person who knew about your scars?" She questioned.

I looked back down and for a second I tried to see the killer in her. The one who slashed my skin, who almost shot Jungkook, the one that took my family away—the one who shot me.

All I saw was the 15 year old who helped me through my days, the one who forced me to love myself and the one who was there with me through it all.
