I stared down at my soaked dress—Jae-woo smirked before swaying her hips away. The whole party consisted of camera shutters, taking photos of me. How embarrassing.
I looked down, not knowing what to do. A few bodies stood around me, blocking me from everyone's cameras. Looking up, I realized it was Jungkook, Jimin, and Taehyung. I don't understand why they'd help me from humiliation when they barely know me.
A hand grabbed my wrist and led me to the bathroom.
"Clean yourself up, princess." Jungkook said before he gently pushed me into the bathroom.
I took paper towels from the dispenser as I attempted to dry myself. My make up wasn't smeared too much, but I wiped it all off with water and a paper towel. Makeup wasn't my thing, anyways.
I dabbed the paper towel on my dress, attempting to get it dry, but It was far too soaked to get dry with just a paper towel. "What did I tell you about leaving Y/N alone?" I assumed it was Jungkook.
"Come on," she whined.
"Lighten up, it's not like you like her anyways." Another voice said, I assumed it was Jae-woo. Jungkook's angry conversation seemed to continue for a few minutes before I heard Jae-woo's heels click away.
Jungkook stood tensed as I walked out of the bathroom a couple minutes after. I still felt icky, but not as soaked as before. "Took you long enough," he murmured before taking his sweater off and throwing it towards me. I caught it, before placing it over my head.
My eyes widened when I looked at him, shirtless. "Take a picture, it lasts longer." He smirked.
"I'll get going, thank you, for tonight by the way." I said, before turning away.
"You might want to think your decision over." He said, stopping me in my tracks and pointing towards Jae-eun—who was, still drinking. She was also all over a guy that I don't recognize.

"You should just let me drive you home." He said.
"Fine," I groaned. I didn't want to even think about how embarrassing it was that he had to protect me from humiliation. Like that wasn't enough.
"I honestly don't understand how you're not cold right now." I commented as we got into his car.
"I must say, I am cold blooded." He winked before turning the radio on.
The song, 'Paper Hearts' played as he sang along beautifully.
Remember the way you made me feel
Such young love but
Something in me knew that it was real
Frozen in my head
"Why don't you show everyone your ability to sing? I mean, your voice is angelic." I blurted.
He chuckled. "There are a lot of reasons that I can't sing right now, and I hope you don't figure out what the reasons are." He said the last sentence quietly before returning to the song.
Pictures that I'm living through for now
Trying to remember all the good times
Our life was cutting through so loud
Memories are playing in my dull mind now
I somehow fell asleep to his voice, feeling my shoulder being shaken. "Wake up, princess." I heard—opening my eyes slowly as I saw him standing at the car door.
He sighed. "Fine then," he said. There was a small pause before an arm went behind my back and another went under my knees as he lifted me bridal style.
"Fine, fine! I'm up!" I yelled as I thrashed in his arms.
"Too late now." He smirked, carrying me inside my house. I've lived alone for awhile now, since my grandmother died—so the house is just a little dirty.
I might've underestimated 'little', though. "Do you ever clean your house?" He murmured, kicking a few things out of his way with his foot.

He sighed, still holding me in his arms while he tried getting through a few piles of dirty clothes that I need to wash. It was like a maze. A love maze. What am I thinking? "A love maze?"
My eyes widened. "Did I just say that out loud?" I groaned. He chuckled, nodding his head.
"I wonder what thoughts you had to even say 'love maze'"
"I mean-" I paused. "Never mind."
"Must be pretty wild if you're not going to tell me." He said, carrying me up the stairs.
"I'm tired," I whined—trying to change the subject.
Jungkook used his foot to gently push the door open before setting me down on my bed. "Make sure you change and brush your stinky ass teeth before you go to bed." He sighed.
"My breath is not stinky!" I said, raising my hand to my mouth and breathing out. Damn it is.
"With the amount of alcohol you had tonight, they're pretty stinky." He concluded.
"Oh, and here," he said, walking towards me and handing me my clutch.
He hit his leg on my bed frame, which made him fall on top of me. His arms held him up, but his face was inches from mine. I tried not to breathe so he wouldn't have to suffer from my breath.
We stayed there, staring into each other's eyes before he gulped and pushed himself back up. It was awkward for a bit, but I filled the silence.
"Thank you, I didn't realize it was even gone." I smiled, pretending that that did not happen even though it did.
"Yeah, well that would've been your lost." He groaned.
"Yeah yeah, whatever—you are totally my savior and whatnot." I rolled my eyes, even though I knew that was true.
"Wow, my princess admitting that I'm her prince."
"Whatever helps you sleep at night." I grinned.
"Goodnight Y/N." He smiled and placed his hands in his pockets.
"Goodnight, Jungkook." I replied, yawning and tucking myself in.
The door closed behind him, leaving me alone.
I was smiling to myself as I slowly drifted off to sleep.

Maker of Fire
On a world where magic kept civilization firmly in the bronze age, the Gods dropped an accountant and a mining engineer to start a political and industrial revolution. They wanted enlightened governance and a fast track to the iron age. They got indoor plumbing, paper airplanes, a cranky queen, and one very grumpy prophet. Dramatis Personae Aylem was a bookkeeping student when she died. The Gods reincarnated her as the greatest mage ever known, born into the ruling class of gigantic, magic-wielding humans. The Gods expect her to conquer the world and introduce double-entry accounting. Though Queen and numerical reformer, world conquest is stalled because everyone is scared of her and she doesn't like war. Emily was a retired engineer when she died. The Gods reincarnated her as one of the enslaved class of small, magicless humans. The Gods expect her to drag the world out of the bronze age. Though she's already recreated matches and wrought iron, introducing technology isn't going well because she was born a slave (oops) and having escaped, wants nothing to do with so-called "civilization." Asgotl was a whale when he died. The Gods reincarnated him as a griffin and expect him to have the same role he played in his previous life: to keep a reluctant prophet from walking off the job. If only they had remembered to tell him about it. Revised update schedule will be once a week on Saturdays, noonish Mountain Time (in North America)
