《Zane the Mad :Part of the Legendary Interviews》16 I knew I was forgetting SOMETHING

I made my way back to he beach proper noticing ants in the distance finally getting back to there life cycle. I set up walls of vectors to keep the ants out of the part of the beach I thought of as mine. It would just push them out if they tried to go in not kill them.

Once I was out on the sand I pulled up the new york portal setting a field of even deeper time slow than the minute/hour. I was in, with it's own hour/day dilation it sped up to second/week.

After a second I ended it I just wanted to be sure that the world reset before I sent in my own slime to consume it. But I did tell it to put into inventory one of every magic item, I would go though them checking to be sure I could use the power with out the limitations.

Having a stray thought I told the slime to put any mercury it mite find into the storage space as well. I thought it would ether find none or a lot.

"how many points to put power into items again?" I asked imp tossing the slime into the portal then putting the second/week time dilation on it.

"25." imp said as I pulled the slime out of the now empty world portal stopping the time dilation. "You now have 31 you had 10. you got +3 tension, +3 brutality, and +2 humor from that little intimidation snatch and grab. And you just now got +10 Efficiency and +3 brutality.

You've been upgraded form a miner red dragon to a Death dragon. As a bonus power you can use the time dilation the other way to make time pass faster."

"Interesting... and buy the item power" I said I wasn't sure what type of dragon I had been but I didn't think it would be a Minor red. And that power to change the time dilation had interesting implications. The fist one being I could now skip ahead and not have to wait for anything I didn't want to. Or I could make some one else seam to be stuck frozen in time.

"Why am I stuck as a dragon?" I asked imp pulling up the new york portal putting the time dilation field up so it gave second/day so I would have plenty of time to go though the magic items in new york and start making my master work.

"what do you mean? Stuck as a dragon?" Imp asked seaming confused by my phrasing.

I stepped out of the portal still far in the air finding an empty but large apartment to portal into I wanted a large table some bowls and a place to be able to pull out and look at the items.

The place I found was one of those 2 story pent houses with far to much open space for what little furniture was in the place. I sent most of them out thought a portal leading to right behind the window.

"You know what I mean." I said moving the large table to the wall and grabbing a large metal mixing bowl from the kitchen. "Im still level 16. Eva kills a world she becomes the god of death. I kill a world and I get turned into a more powerful dragon."

"your level clearly doesn't really matter." imp said with a little scoff. "You've spent, used, or given away more points, powers, and abilities than they thought would be possible before anyone hit godhood."

"Ok, so its because I break the rules?" I asked pulling out the neuralyzer and putting it into one of my 4 equip slots. "Dragons are things that break the rules? Cus I got to say there are way cooler things that you could be if you break rules."

"No!" imp said "Dragons are just something some people turn into, they are rare but some people just get dragon as there first power or level up and try and become them."

"I didn't." I said "bring me up a written list of the slime's inventory."

A screen appeared with a list of items, some I knew like the badges, ninja suit, don's ring, the list of guns, then the list got very bloated with one of every type of car in the world, the slime considered etch one its own magic item. Same with the boats.

"well in a way you did." Imp said.

"No. by your logic Eva should have been a dragon and not a god." I said calmly "she was the one who had a quest to kill/consume the dragon. I just had to help and help capture it."

Imp snared at me a little thinking and reading something behind her eyes. "why dose it bother you so much?"

I sighed a little getting though the list of boats to see a few mundane made magic items a jukebox that could play any song including making some new ones, soda machines that keep pumping out sodas, mannequins that moved on there own, a vile that was made to start a zombie apocalypse event, a flying ghost pirate ship, hair styling tools that would grow the hair shape it and change it's color, and magic ring that worked like a camera that you could set up to ether follow you or another getting the best shots and angles turning your life into a movie.

"A dragon is a goal." I said finally "A difficult and tricky goal to be sure but a kill-able achievable goal. Dragons exist so that people can one day kill them. Gods exist to keep the order of the world, its laughable to kill a god. But everyone wants to kill a dragon."

Imp was silent her eyes glowing lightly with some sort of emotion I couldn't discern.

"A God is protected, a dragon is a target." I said looking at imp trying to see if I could tell what she was thinking by staring at her hard enough.

"There are many things that gods fear." Imp whispered. "you are still thinking like an unchanged."

I watched her for a moment taking that in, rethinking my mythology from that angle. There were things the gods feared indeed.

"alright..." I said looking down at the mixing bowl on the table. "So what sort of draw backs dose my power into items have?"

"you cant just give it any powers on your banned list, then expect to be able to use it." Imp said glad at the change of subject. "There is a reason they are banned."

"Doubt." I said poring out half a bowls worth of mercury from my inventory. I was right that I had a lot gathered up, I wasn't "sure" were it had all come from but all I got what I wanted.

I had always liked the liquid mirror metal, just like any kid who thought they knew anything about science or magic for that matter.

I raised my hand over the liquid metal putting into it the power to copy the powers or magic of anything it touched. "I just want one item that can do the thing a lot do so I don't have to carry around so much stuff all the time."

"You can only put 2 powers into an item at the start or it suffers a critical failure." Imp said.

"What dose that mean?" I asked thinking of the ways I mite be able to use a critical failure.

"Whatever is the least useful to you at the time." Imp said.

I sighed again. "see now that just proves your gods are just picking on me at this point."

I vectored another mixing bowl out form the cabinets and a large cooking pot. I thought about using a spoon but felt foolish, 'vectors would look so much fucking cooler.' I thought taking a tiny amount of mercury and putting into it a purifying power. This should stop the mercury from being toxic to me or anyone I used it near, while also staying clean and acting as a cleaning agent.

Of coarse every time I enchanted something it felt like water was flowing out of me and onto the object. An oddly pleasant feeling.

I let the floating droplet drop into the bowl with the first mercury I had empowered. I idly thought of names I mite call the enchanted mercury when it was done. 'quick silver, multi-tool, gods metal, omnium? Nooo'

I moved a little bit of the mercury into the other bowl and cooking pot, pulling out a droplet of new mercury empowering it then drooping it into one of the bowls at random planning on mixing them together in the end.

I added healing, repairing, cornucopia, cloud mimicry, fire mimicry, shape shifting(not for me but so the item could take any form I could think of), holy fire generation, plant manipulation, plant growth, technopathy, history sensing, and mater creation.

I wanted to give it the power to give itself power cus I knew there was a lot of things I wasn't thinking about right at this moment. And there was plenty of powers I already had.

I mixed the mercury together having it float with the vector power I started pulling things out of my inventory touching it to the mercury just enough to know the power had been taken before tossing some out and putting some back into my inventory.

It took a while and I didn't bother with most of the ships or cars, I got distracted thinking of the things I was going to do with this new toy.

Making the mercury turn into mist then firing shot gun blasts out of it, or just as funny using it as a liquid to go through the pipes before it busted out a mass of spikes and sword blades seaming to grow from the wall.

I hit the end of my list of magic items, I was sure there was more powers I wanted to give it but for now it should be fine.

I pulled a droplet of slime out.

"come on now I think enough is enough." Imp said with a sigh.

"If I use the stuff it'll get all my powers anyway." I said sending the slime to the empowered liquid metal.

"You know you got a point." Imp said, "it was going to go bad ether way."

"what?" I asked just as the mercury slipped from my vectors splattering to the ground, I frowned trying to gather it back up or to tell it to at least.

It seamed to be working but taking a shape I didn't tell it to. Four spots formed first then a long droplet leading along the ground between them. It was when I saw one of the four spots on the ground started to form into a claw that I thought I knew what it was doing.

It was taking the shape of a dragon, about as big as a cat it seamed.

"Wait, why is it doing that?" I asked imp as the tail swished in the air droplets flying up and forming spikes upon it.

"Your a smart guy I'm sure you'll think of it." Imp said

"Think of what?" I asked as the face of the little dragon took shape it's mouth opening in a silent hiss its eyes lighting with a blue fire.

"the thing you forgot." Imp said smugly.

I glared at the little dragon wanting to glare at imp but not wanting to take my eyes off the little monster as it grew it's wings flapping them excitedly.

I had just enough time for it to hit me. 'i didn't put in a way to control it.' before it leapt at me, a smile as full of innocent joy as it was full of fangs.

For a second I had a little hope. 'oh its just like a little puppy, its going to jump into my arms and i'm going to pet it, bond with it, raise it up as my own little monster.'

Then I remembered who I was, what I really was, that I had just made this thing, and how smug Imp had been a moment before.

Time was slowing not due to any power but my own body's ability to keep me alive. I held my hands out details of the dragon-ling racing into my eyes.

It's own eyes of blue fire looked hungry, viscus, and eager.

I admit a little bit of despair washed over me at that moment, I had a choice to make. I thought I knew that this was a monster, as much a dragon as the myths said it would be. As much a monster as I really was.

Or it was just a cute little pet I was afraid of an innocent new born leaping to papa.

The choice was this, go on the attack take care of this threat right now killing it or at least stopping it until I could find a way to control it, or take a chance. Find out if it was possible I wasn't just a lying monster.

I barely felt the teeth sink into my shoulder just below my neck, the dragon bypassing my aura like it wasn't there at all.

I new the thing didn't feel hunger, it had no need to eat. It's instincts to attack to kill where just from the joy of fighting, of killing.

Even as I flung the thing off of me pushing out a little bit of my own blood and flesh to be sure the mercury wasn't going to try and eat me from the inside I wondered if there was some way to tame it.

I never was good at raising anything, but maybe that was because I didn't have the chance.

I added more layers to my own personal hyper time putting up a bubble of slow down around the dragon before darting into a portal taking me to the large ship at the edge of the world.

I pulled up the slime using it for blood for a moment before it quickly healed me.

"suit's ruined." I muttered "Tell me, if I was better with animals could I tame it?"

Imp floated beside me looking concerned and surprised once again. "...no. It's a dragon, by its nature it can not be tamed."

"so I have to kill it?" I asked wondering if it would try to portal after me.

"...no." Imp said. "you don't have to kill it."

I glared in thought focusing on everything I could do, all the ways I could kill it.

'no.' I thought. 'not this time. I'm not killing it.'

I glanced up at imp who seamed a little sad. "what are you going to do?"

"Give me a visual." I snapped my thoughts on to how not to kill it, what powers I had, what powers it had, and what powers could do anything to it.

I thought so hard I slipped out of the super hyper-time, the mercury dragon getting out of its own containment grew in size and blasted out of the top of the skyscraper it had been in.

I watched the building start to collapse as it roared in joy at its destruction. Before leaping down to start smashing and killing.

When I saw it chewing on a car like a dog at it's bone I thought. 'that's foolish, it cant eat. its just a big pile of shaped metal. just a big toy pretending...'

'...wait.' I thought. 'iv been thinking the wrong way.'

i thought about everything I had given it one more time but this time I thought about what I had forgotten to give it.

"i forgot to give it a way not to eat a power." I muttered looking around me seeing the solid iron shipping crates. "Not good enough."

I used my vectors to pull up a chunk of iron shaping it into a wide ring, putting the powers of enhancement and refinement into it, so that anything passed through would be made better something more than it had been.

"What are you doing?" Imp asked confused

"SHUT UP!" I screeched at her. Taking iron and shaping it, at first I just made it a basic pole compressing as much metal in as I could waiting for it's real shape to come to me.

"This is important!" I hissed my mind a storm of shapes thoughts ideas and plans. A scythe kept coming back to me but the joke anime weapon not the farm tool. All the jokes I was making not getting out of my head, but instead of the long flat blade it had a sickle or at least a sharp hook on its end.

I shaped the iron before making the hoop of refinement go over it again and again until I was sure it couldn't be upgraded or enhanced any more by the powered ring.

I grabbed it putting into it something I wasn't sure would even count as a power. The same power that mjolnir, sun wukong's staff, and the keyblade had. The power of being bonded to the wielder. The power of being owned.

A second power would take far to much time to figure out, if this worked the way I thought it would then this was it, my weapon from here on out. My Excalibur, my Gáe Bulg, my Iron Man's armor.

My hook and crook. I didn't bother looking up at imp instead telling the hook to flex, it bent obediently and that was enough for me.

I snagged it out of the air giving it a test spin before flying at the mercury dragon.

My plan was simple and wouldn't work if the gods had anything to say about it. But I made sure not to tell them.

The dragon was swiping a paw at a line of cops and mobsters shooting guns uselessly at it. I added more hyper-time landing on the dragon's back swinging the my hook into its neck.

The strange new metal bit into the strongly enchanted mercury in a way that reminded me of trying to cut a still mostly frozen ice cream cake.

It was enough though, once the enchantment had been added to the power absorbing monster it too now had the same power of my hook.

The power of being owned by me and me alone.

I felt the water that I was sure at this point was my mana, flow though the handle of the hook into the dragon then felt the wave of power rise back up though the feet planted on the dragon's back and wash through me as well.

After a moment I noticed it wasn't just a feeling. The dragon really was flying up into me being sucked away like soda into a straw.

"congratulations." Imp said with sigh and a shake of her head. "you have just gained the power of metal slime dragon symbiosis."

After the dragon was absorbed into me I set up a wall of vectors to keep the angry npcs out. "wait, so all that and I upgraded my slime?"

"Nope." imp said

I frowned letting my slime ooze out of my left foot and let it take the shape of a little dragon for the first time ever. It was still clear and it looked like an ice sculpture but jiggly.

After another thought I pulled out the mercury letting it take the form of another small dragon on my right foot. Both of them looked up at me the mercury dragon exposing its fangs in a dopy smile, the slime dragon not even having a mouth at all.

After a moment of me not doing anything but watching them they turned there attention to etch other, the mercury dragon nipping at the slime dragon witch darted away before smacking the mercury with its tail.

"So what now iv got 2 slime dragons?" I asked shaking my head wondering if I should let them go or bring them back in.

"yep. a slime dragon and a metal slime dragon." Imp said

"...is that the other thing I forgot?" I asked watching the dragons play as I held onto my new weapon. "Lu's pet power?"

"...no"
