《Worlds: The Beginning!》Chapter 18: Meeting those like him!

When Xiao Feng arrived at the arena, he saw two male disciples fighting on it. They were both teenagers and they both wore blue tunics and pants. He looked away from them and looked at the elder standing by the entrance of the arena. The elder was observing the fight between the two male disciples with his hands behind his back. He looked of around thirty years old and he had mid-length black, dark-green eyes and wore a robe with a majestic phoenix embroidered on it. He was from the Xi family. Xiao Feng walked up to him and said, “I want to fight.”
The elder turned his head to Xiao Feng and looked at him. “Bring out your identification jade slip, disciple.”
Xiao Feng pulled out his green jade slip from his robe and showed it to the elder.
The elder smiled. “I will organise a match for you, outer disciple Xiao Feng.”
“Thank you, elder,” Xiao Feng said as he put his green jade slip back into his robe. He looked away from the elder and looked at the arena. As he did so, the elder disappeared.
The two male disciples were no longer fighting but standing on the opposite sides of the arena and breathing raggedly. They heavily breathed out of their mouths, covered their right fists with the palm of their left hands and bowed their heads. “Thank you for the fight,” they said in unison, turned around, jumped off the arena and walked off into the distance.
Xiao Feng walked up onto the arena and closed his eyes. But not even two minutes later, he opened them and in front of him, he saw a man that was around eighteen years old. The eighteen-year-old man had short brown hair, light-blue eyes and wore blue tunic and pants.
“He is your opponent, disciple Xiao Feng,” the elder’s voice sounded and looking towards it, Xiao Feng saw him, the thirty-something-year-old elder of the Xi family. “His name is Ma Na.”

“Nice to meet you, junior brother Xiao Feng,” Ma Na said.
Xiao Feng looked at Ma Na. “Nice to meet you.”
“Get ready,” the elder said.
Xiao Feng and Ma Na took their fighting stances and focused on one another. But as Xiao Feng focused on Ma Na, he sensed his Qi. Ma Na had slightly less Qi than he had.
“Begin!” the elder shouted out.
“Here I go!” Ma Na shouted out and ran towards Xiao Feng.
“So slow,” Xiao Feng thought and then he smiled. “But it's perfect.”
Ma Na ran up to Xiao Feng and punched with his right hand. “Monkey’s punch!”
Xiao Feng took a single step to the right and Ma Na’s monkey punch hit nothing but air.
“I am not done yet!” Ma Na shouted out. He kicked with his right leg. “Fox’s whip!”
“I can dodge his kick as well, but how well can I block it?” Xiao Feng thought. He raised his right arm and Ma Na’s leg connected with it.
“Aaaaaaa!!!” Ma Na screamed out from the pain and fell to the ground. He snapped his eyes to his right leg and grabbed it with both of his hands. But the moment he grabbed it, he let go of it and screamed out from the pain once more, “Aaaaaa!!!”
“Now, let’s try attacking,” Xiao Feng thought. He punched down at Ma Na with his left fist without holding anything back. His fist connected with Ma Na and Ma Na turned into nothing but dust.
Xiao Feng widened his eyes from shock. “I turned him into nothing but dust?” he thought.
A clapping sound sounded and Xiao Feng looked towards it. He saw the thirty-something-year-old elder of the Xi family clapping with a wide smile on his face. “Well done,” he said. “You have defeated the third strongest outer disciple, Ma Na. And now you are the third strongest outer disciple. Xiao Feng, do you want to take on the strongest outer disciple and become the strongest outer disciple?”

Xiao Feng nodded his head. “Yes, I want to fight the strongest outer disciple and become the strongest outer disciple.”
“Very well,” the elder said. “I will bring him here.” He disappeared when he finished his words.
“So fast!” Xiao Feng thought. “I didn’t see him move!”
A few minutes passed and the thirty-something-year-old elder of the Xi family appeared with a boy and a girl of around Xiao Feng’s age. He recognised them both. They were the same boy and girl that he saw when he left his house. “It’s you two,” he said and they both looked at him.
“You know us?” the girl said as she tilted her head in confusion.
“Of course he knows us,” the boy said. “I am the ninth prince and you are the fifth princess. We are the geniuses that have the martial talent of above A-rank and two bloodlines. Everyone in the peerless sect knows us.”
The girl shook her head. “How do you know us?”
“So they are the ninth prince and the fifth princess who like me have an above A-rank martial talent and two bloodlines,” Xiao Feng thought and said, “I didn’t know that you two were the ninth prince and the fifth princess. I saw you two earlier on the outer peak. Your brother was shouting at you, telling you to hurry up. And you were shouting back at him, telling him that you were coming.”
“I see,” the girl said as she nodded her head in understanding.
The boy frowned. He walked up onto the arena and stood opposite of Xiao Feng. “My name is Yuan Hao and I am the ninth prince. My sister is Yuan Meiying and she is the fifth princess.”
Xiao Feng nodded his head and opened his mouth but before he could say even a single word, the elder said, “Ninth prince, fifth princess, I introduce to you – Xiao Feng. Like you two, he has the martial talent of above A-rank and two bloodlines.”
“He is the same as me and my sister?”
“He is the same as me and my brother?”
Yuan Hao and Yuan Meiying said with shocked voices.
“Indeed,” the elder said. “Now then, Xiao Feng, Yuan Hao, get ready.”
Xiao Feng and Yuan Hao took their fighting stances and focused on one another.
“Begin!” the elder shouted out but neither Xiao Feng nor Yuan Hao moved.
“I will not make the first move, Xiao Feng,” Yuan Hao said. “If you wish to fight me, then come at me.”
“I will not make the first move either,” Xiao Feng said and thought, “Because if I make the first move and fight you, I will without a doubt die. I will only fight you when our Qi is roughly the same and when I have learned the whirling dragon punch, trained my body with the divine black dragon emperor body strengthening technique and the body strengthening of a tyrannical emperor and learned the movement of a wolf emperor.”
“Then this fight is a draw,” Yuan Hao said and took his relaxed stance.
“This fight yes,” Xiao Feng said and took his relaxed stance. “But not our next one.”
“Xiao Feng, do you want to go on a mission together with us?” Yuan Meiying said.
Xiao Feng looked at Yuan Meiying. “Sure.”
Xiao Feng, Yuan Hao and Yuan Meiying left for the mission centre and the elder left for the divine peak.

However, when Soletus’s resolve to help starts to waiver, Mien does something unexpected and Soletus decides that the boy deserves a second chance not as an act of duty but as a friend. Hy'Ruh-Ha is a what I consider a chronicle fantasy. It is a fantasy drama coming of age story inspired by slice-of-life stories I've read and watched. It is heavy on the slice-of-life and does move slow. It is low-stakes fantasy. This particular story is romance free.(2 out the of 4 is re-uploaded under this title) And if you are someone who cares, the POV character is asexual. Crossroad(formally labeled as the intermission stories)- is a novella collection continuing the tale where Hy'ruh-Ha. The collection as followed: Wolf- After spending several months in the swamp post, Oeric'Sheldmartin returns to repair the chasm between him and his son, Soletus. However, a ghost from his past comes to haunt him and could ruin the life he's made completely. Note: Wolf is a bit of a character piece. POV character is Oeric. The Priest and the Priestess- A novella written in the POV of Mien and then Kiao after a series of unexpected events that change their lives. Mien's POV- Mien has spent the last couple of years working not only in the infirmary but training to become a combat chanter as part of his penitence. Then one day, a drug addled elf comes into infirmary and changes his perspective of a friend and puts his knowledge to the tests to figure out a mystery effecting children in town. *Spoiler warning* Kiao's POV- Kiao spent most of her time in the infirmary living the same daily secret filled life and until Mien changed it. Now she has to figure out her future in ways she never thought she would. I'm going for a Tues and Thurs day schedule for the re-upload. I may or may not stick in extra days.
