“Come on honey. Push. It’s almost there.” With another mighty push, a small very white girl was born. The top of her head is covered in a thin layer of white fur. Bright purple eyes look around scared and confused. The alpha of the pack smiles happily holding up the small child. “She is beautiful darling.”
“Let me hold her.” The alpha hands over the small baby to his mate. The woman looks down at the baby smiling happily. “Lupa.. You are so beautiful.” The baby coos happily excited for the life that has been started for her.
Ten years later
Lupa runs through the forest chasing after a rabbit. The snow hare jumps over a fallen log as Lupa closes in on her prey. With one mighty leap, Lupa pins the rabbit to the ground breathing heavily. The rabbit panics trying to break free from the tiny shapeshifter’s hands. “I got you!” She lets the rabbit run away watching it happy.
“Lupa! It’s time for us to move again!” Lupa turns back running back to her parents. The alpha of the little group is a strong looking male. He refuses to wear any shirt only wearing pants made out of a study leather. The woman looks almost exactly like Lupa except for having dark blue eyes instead of purple. The woman bends down picking up Lupa in a big hug. “I thought I told you no more playing with your food.” Lupa pouts a little bit hugging her mother’s back tightly hanging on.
“I was only playing. That’s it a swear. I wasn’t even going to eat it.” The alpha looks at his daughter happy.
“Good.” Lupa closes her eyes as a few snowflakes materialize around her. Lupa’s mother looks at the alpha with a worried look on her face.
“What if she is chosen Alpha?” The alpha smiles giving a proud look toward his daughter.
“Then she will lead all shapeshifters for the better then.” Lupa’s mother looks sad at him.
“You know what she does though. She uses and…” The alpha cuts her off growling a deep growl.
“That doesn’t matter. We both know we were made to serve. That’s it.” Lupa’s mother slowly looks down following the alpha. Lupa makes the snow dance around in the air around her. The alpha looks at Lupa. “Do you still remember our laws Lupa?”
“We shall never kill a human being.” They start to march through the snow toward the large mountain temple.
“Why is that?” They get closer to the mountain temple. Fire burns on both sides of the entering.
“Because the Sister would want us to follow her example.” They enter the large temple. The stone hallways echo with their footsteps.
“Excellent. Now what is our mission?” Lupa thinks for a moment before smiling happily.

“Helping the Sister with her goals.” The alpha smiles petting Lupa on the head.
“Good job.” Lupa nuzzles the hand happy with the compliment. The man smiles petting Lupa for a little bit. Soon the group comes across a large stoned room with a woman sitting in the middle. She looks like another Shapeshifter. Her hair is a deep shade of red with dark purple eyes.
“You brought me the child?” The alpha and Lupa’s mother bow at the woman’s feet. Lupa goes to bow but the woman sitting on the throne prevents Lupa from doing so. “You are a Herald for me now. You don’t bow to anyone or thing.” Lupa looks up at the woman. The woman bends down grabbing a hold of Lupa holding her up. Lupa stares at the woman unfazed. Lupa smiles holding onto the woman’s arm. The woman places Lupa back down. “She is perfect.” Lupa’s mother looks up sadness in her eyes.
“Please don’t take her away from us.” The alpha looks at Lupa’s mother bowing like she had just spat in the face of a god. In fact, she just did. The woman walks over to Lupa’s mother bowing.
“You brought me my herald. I will not punish you for that.” The woman punches the alpha across the face causing his jaw to break. “However, I won’t let you get away with back talking me.” The alpha falls to the ground holding his jaw in place. Fear spreads across Lupa’s mothers face as she looks up at the Sister. “I would run far away from her now.” Lupa watches on as her mother and alpha leave through the building. The Sister looks at Lupa smiling. “You are the youngest herald I’ve ever had. We need to complete the binding process now.” Lupa looks up at the Sister confused.
“The binding process?” The Sister nods holding up her hands.
“It will be painful, but you will be my connection to the world.” The little Lupa holds her hands up with a large smile on her face.
“That’s okay. I am ready to serve!” The Sister smiles knowing this is true. Both lock hands as cold winds swirl around the two of them, the Sister slowly loses her hair color and eye color. The woman standing in front of Lupa slowly ages into dust. Lupa’s hair slowly turns red while her eyes turn a deep purple.
“Excellent Lupa. It’s time to teach you the ways of being my Herald.” Lupa looks at everything with a look of wonder and excitement. The wonderment slowly leaves Lupa as confusion fills her face.
“Sister? Why can’t I feel my magic anymore?” The Sister doesn’t say anything for a few minutes.
“When you are chosen to become my Herald, you exchange your magic with my blessing.” Lupa frowns slowly at that. “Lupa. With my help, you will become the most powerful herald in all existence.” Lupa shrugs at that looking happy again.

“I don’t really care about that. I just want to help.” The Sister is slightly taken back by the amount of loyalty Lupa has shown. When the time comes, she will know what to do. Unknown to the Sister or Lupa, the end of the Shapeshifter’s race has started to happen outside the temple. Shapeshifters all across the Northern Mountains started to disappear.
One year later
“Lupa. It’s time for our daily portal.” The Sister’s voice rings out in Lupa’s head. Lupa sits up from her bed stretching out. She smiles standing up with a look of happiness on her face. She throws on her clothing heading to the opening of the temple.
“Sister. Is it finally time for me to search?” The Sister’s voice rings out with a hint of anger behind it.
“No. We still have a few years before we should even start considering the mission.” Lupa makes a pouting face at that. Lupa has always wondered what her great task will be. For the last year, it has been constant training. She must become the best Herald the Sister has ever seen. Lupa exits from the temple with strong winds swirling through the valley that the temple is located in. The smell of blood and destruction lingers on the air. “Something is wrong Lupa.”
Lupa sprints toward the destruction small excitement running through her. It’s been a boring pass year with only training. Lupa has become a capable fighter being able to deal with threats as big as mountain trolls. Lupa leaps into the tree climbing up fast with snow starting to fall. She reaches the top of the tree to see a large group of human’s in a weird looking uniforms. “What are they?” The Sister already knows what is happening with great anger exploding from her.
“How dare they come onto my lands? Lupa scare them off for me.” Lupa smiles her hair slowly turning a light red with her eyes turning a darker shade of purple. The Sister knows that it is still too risky to take control of the body with her being this young. Lupa leaps from the tree landing a few feet from the large group of men. Many of the men look over at her shocked. They look to be wearing leather and metal.
“Another monster. Go collect her for us.” Lupa slowly notices a group of shapeshifters chained and bound together at the center. Lupa has confusion fill her face.
“What are you doing?” A few men slowly approach her with weapons draw.
“Come here you little freak.” One of the men try to grab her, but Lupa nimbly dodges out of his grasp. Lupa swiftly runs over to the over shapeshifters with the men looking at her.
“Do you want some help?” The other shapeshifters start shaking bending down to the ground. One of the males in the group speaks up.
“Please Sister. They are trying to..” The air around Lupa slowly grows colder. The type of cold that doesn’t happen naturally in the Northern Mountains. The Sister takes control of Lupa knowing that she will be no match from what is coming. The group of men circle the group of shapeshifters when that man appears.
A black suited knight slowly marches out of the woods. The man reeks of death and destruction. An old demonic mask sits at his face. The man stops drawing his sword. “By the order of the Green Belt, I hereby sentence you to death.” The Sister rolls her eyes looking toward the Shapeshifters.
“What are you waiting for? Fight back!” The shapeshifters start shaking with all of them dropping to the ground. The suited man steps as shadows around him slowly rise up. The Sister realizes that she can’t risk Lupa’s body. Especially with the number of shapeshifters left. She jumps from the group just before the man could attack her. She lands in the woods running as fast she can to hide from the men. Once she believes she is hidden, she pokes her head out to see what is going to happen to the shapeshifters. It only takes one swipe from the demonic man’s sword to cut down the rest of the shapeshifters. The Sister frowns searching the world for any more shapeshifters. “There’s none left.” The Sister lets Lupa take back control over her body. Lupa looks around slightly confused for a moment.
“Where are we?” Inside Lupa’s head, the Sister tries to hide the truth from her.
“We need to get going Lupa. We need to travel deep within the Northern Mountains for training.” Lupa has confusion fill her face.
“What about the…” The Sister grows angry with Lupa shouting within her head.
“Forget about it. You…” An arrow flies through the air hitting Lupa in the shoulder. Lupa instantly tears up whimpering from the pain. “Lupa you need to.” Lupa yanks the arrow out of her shoulder dropping to all fours. “Lupa. Don’t change! I won’t be..” The Sister’s voice gets lost in the transformation as Lupa turns into a young white wolf. She races from the tree line with a few men chasing her.
“Someone get her! Get that White Wolf!” Lupa charges into the nearby woods trying her best to escape from the men.
