The werewolf is gray with hints of white covering the edges of the its fur. It is fully covered in blood. It snarls at Aleem but pauses slightly looking at me. It takes a step toward me as Aleem throws one of his bags at it. It growls at him and Aleem hops off the goat running away. The werewolf chases after him slicing through the goat Aleem was one. I try to run after him hoping that I can at least find Lupa. I move out of the way of women and children running around. I see werewolves running around chasing everyone. I have to find Lupa and get out of here.
As I get to the front of the village, there is death everywhere. Both werewolves and humans litter the battleground. I quickly look around for Lupa seeing where she is. I slowly start to panic as I see her jump on the back of a werewolf. She is covered in blood and I feel a lot better. She looks unhurt from what I can see. She easily takes down the werewolf as she looks for her next target. She locks eyes with me and she slowly stops. Her hair almost starts to change back to white as a white werewolf hits her into the woods. I frown looking worried and start to go to her. I stop seeing the white werewolf slowly circle me.
I look for a weapon and notice a wooden spear a few feet away from me. I make a move towards it but stop as the werewolf steps in my way. It sniffs at me as I slowly back up away from them. I see it almost look confused as it howls loudly. I cover my ears trying to block out the hinderous sound coming from its mouth. I see it bend over gripping its stomach. It slowly starts to turn into a man. The man is slowly looks at me completely naked, “You are different.” He sounds rough and dark.
“Get the hell away from me!” I pick up a rock and throw it at him. He catches it and crushes it within his hand.
“I am going to take you to our Alpha.” He rushes me and picks me up. I start to freak out and start to hit him with my hands.
“Let me go!” I hit him over and over again trying to escape him. I feel his gripped tighten around my waist. I close my fist as hard as I can and hit him in the head. He drops me to the ground and I land with a thud. I crawl away from him as fast as I can. I see Lupa charge out of the forest tackling him into the ground. Her hair is black with a hint of crimson and her eyes are a deep dark purple. She starts to tear him as he punches her in the face. This causes her to step back and he reveses pinning her to the ground. He starts to punch her in the face as blood coats the ground.

I frown getting up. I grab a stick and run towards the man. Lupa punches him in the gut and the man bites her. She lets out a yell and I get a sinking feeling in my stomach. I hit the man in the back of the head but it doesn’t affect him. I start to feel angry as I hit him over the head again. He lets go of Lupa as she grabs her neck trying to stop the bleeding. He grabs my stick breaking it in his hands. He stomps on Lupa and I hear her ribs crack. My anger flares as my vision goes red. I barely register him scream in pain as my vision comes too. Half of his body is burned beyond recognition. My head starts to swim as I take a step back. He falls to the ground and howls in pain. A few werewolves rush over to us coming to the their fallen companion. One of them looks at me and growls charging me. I touch my head and hold my other hand, “... Go.. away..”
Flames shoot out of my hands burning the charging werewolf. The werewolf howls in pain diving into the nearby snow. The other werewolves look at me. My body seems to be reacting on it’s as the flames start to shoot at the rest of the werewolves. They start to run away back into the forest. My body acts like it wants to follow them. To put an end to them. I slowly start to follow them but I stop once I see Lupa. Her hair is back to normal and her eyes are closed. I can barely register that she is whimpering. I slowly gain control back over my body as I fall to my knees exhausted. I look at Lupa, “... Lu..” I fall face first next to her.
I hear people shout and run over to us. I am so exhausted that I am unable to fight. I feel myself get picked up by one of the tribe man. I start to get taken away as I try to reach for Lupa, “... No..”. I get taken back to the camp. I get put into a tent as I slowly fight off my sleep. I need to get to Lupa. I try to sit up as Aleem walks in looking unhurt. I glare at him, “.. why.. is.. Lupa?” He rolls his eyes at me.
“Fine I am assume. We need to leave before we are overrun by those beasts. You did a good job using your magic without any training.” I shake my head no.
“I… didn’t.. use magic..” My head feels light as my exhaustion slowly fades. He starts to laugh at me which causes me to get slightly angry at him.
“You are a fool. You obviously did magic that scared off that horde. So get up and we need to leave before they come back.” I slowly stand up and slap him across the face angry.

“I DIDN’T USE MAGIC! SHUT THE FUCK UP ALEEM!” He falls to the ground looking shocked. I frown slowly looking at my hand. I have never been this angry before over something so idiotic. He slowly stands up glaring at me.
“Listen girl. I never wanted this, I was fine with writing down the world’s history. Now I have to save the world with you. We need to find you a master to teach you as we make our way to the Southern Desert. To find out the rest of the prophecy.” He seems to get angry told the end of his little rant. I frown looking at him.
“Aleem.. I don’t know..” I stop as I see Lupa be carried in. She looks hurt and is knocked out. She gets covered in blankets as that old woman that was taking care of me before starts to work on her. I slowly move towards to Lupa as Aleem grabs me.
“We are leaving Zona. They will take care of your pet.” I frown and go to slap him again as I hear Lupa barely mumble something. I remove myself from Aleem’s grip and go to her. She is still asleep as I feel her head. She nuzzles my hand slightly and I frown. She is burning up. The old woman looks at me.
“The Gifted one needs to go into her animal form or she will never survive.” I frown at that. I look down at Lupa and wait to see what happens. After a few minutes, nothing happens. The old woman whispers something in her ear and I see Lupa slightly shake her head.
“Why isn’t she changing?” I ask looking distressed. The old woman looks at me.
“She doesn’t want to upset you. She won’t change unless you tell her it’s okay.” I pause realizing something. She would risk dieing instead of risking me hating her more. I feel my stomach go in knots as I put my mouth next to her ear and whisper into it.
“... It’s okay Lupa. I want you to feel better..” Lupa leans her head against mine nuzzling it slightly. The old woman looks at everyone.
“You all need to leave so that she can change.” I refuse to leave her side for a second before getting up and leaving. I get outside to see that half of the village standing outside the tent. I pause seeing them as they start to bow to me. I look at Aleem confused as he heads to the horse sized goats. I glare at him and follow wanting answers. As I follow him, I hear the tribe people start to call me the Rising Sun. I frown at that. I get to Aleem as he secures the last of the bags. I go to ask him questions but he cuts me off.
“Do you really wonder why they called you that? They haven’t seen a mages in years. Now let's go.” He climbs up on a goat and nods me to the other one. I frown and look back to the tribe. I see the old woman with a white wolf coming out of the tent. The white wolf runs towards me and jumps onto me knocking me down. I see bright purple eyes staring at me as it proceeds to lick my face. I laugh slightly petting it happy that Lupa is okay. The old woman slowly walks over to me and Lupa.
“You need to leave Rising Sun. The werebeasts are coming back and they will be in greater numbers.” Lupa pauses and looks toward the old woman with sadness in her eyes. The old woman slowly bends down petting her. “You are the last herald of the Sister. The last Gifted in all of her kingdom. I know you made her and your family proud.” I hear Lupa start whimpering as she nuzzles the old woman. With tears in her eyes, the old woman stands up. “Now go and save the world.” In the distance, I hear howls which causes Lupa to growl in that direction. The men of the village run toward the front preparing for battle. Aleem glares down at both of us.
“We are leaving now!” Aleem spurs his goat as it takes off toward the back of the village. The old woman looks at me.
“Go..” I frown climbing up onto the goat. Lupa looks toward the front of the village and looks like she wants to help. I look at Lupa.
“Lupa.. We need to go..” I spur my goat toward the back of the village. For a second I think that Lupa won’t follow me, until I see her ran ahead of me chasing after Aleem. I spur the goat forward getting to the back of the village. A path leads up the mountain and I see Aleem already halfway up the path. I urge my goat harder as it makes it way up the path. I slow the goat down as I see Lupa and Aleem paused at an overlook of the village. I stop next to Aleem and Lupa. Aleem looks cold as Lupa hangs her head down. I frown looking toward the village. I see the village on fire and werewolves overrunning it. Lupa lets out a sad howl as I get off the goat. I hug her close as she continues the howl. A great column of black smoke raises for the village. It slowly starts to snow with black soot. Aleem looks at both of us, “We need to move before they decide to come after us.” I slowly let of Lupa as I get back on my goat. We continue up the road further up the mountain.

Decompose!
Dear diary. When you read stories about some people missing and returning after years of absence claiming they were living in another world, your first reaction is to scoff and dismiss a story as a tall tale, right? I know I did. All the time. Until it happened to me and I no longer did. That day was today. Some god of thunder smote me. If it were Chris Hemsworth, I wouldn't mind but it was some barbaric Hitite god that abaondned Earth some four millennia ago. Yes, what can I say? I love the seventh art. I have more hours watching movies than any other activity, including sleep. What? Do you think I'm exaggerating? Maybe I am. I'll really miss hollywood the most. And my biggest regret is that I never got to visit the holy city of cinema. I did not come to another world to be a hero even though there was hints that they hoped I'd save it. I did not come with overpowered abilities able to, dunno, leap tall castles in a single bound, faster than a speeding crossbow bolt, be more powerful than a eight-horse carriage, the bounds. No. After the asshole god that murdered me brought me to his world, he gave me some boons from his discount bin and "The Power of my Soul (tm)". Forgive my french, I hope you understand I am rather upset at dying. And he somehow decided that my power is to recycle stuff. How awesome is that? Not much at first, I must admit. At least I got all my camping stuff and equipment with me. There's no lycra in the other world. I'll make it someday, but that day is not today. So here I am. In another world, in the middle of nowhere. I'm no heroine. As the song goes, I'm your basic average girl. And I'm assumed to be here to save the world. But almost everything can stop me, because I'm not named Kim. Wish me luck, diary. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This novel is going have the following features: slow-paced slice-of-life No GameLit / LitRPG elements. Movie references. Sandra likes the seventh art. Journal / diary style crafting (includes chemistry, engineering and metallurgy) low magic technological advancement (for Sandra, at least. She is not against sharing though) personal relations clash of perception between the modern and ancient customs. bits of tension, fighting, and plot here and there. I won't repeat myself though. Once she crafts a good batch of soap, for example, she'll just note, "I crafted soap again." Once it is estabilished how she obtains compound X, compound X2 that is obtainable from the same process will also just be mentioned. I'll try to be as realistic as I can with the crafting, chemistry, and technology. Cover: Public Domain Image by StockSnap from Pixabay. No attribution required but we do it anyway.
