《Battlefield Restart (Old Version)》Chapter 22: True Poison (Deleted Draft)

"I'll talk, just don't hurt me." She says obediently. However, her words caused my senses to sharpen, my mind spun as I remembered all the things I've recorded inwardly about her.
She is someone who's both strong and wise, her most advantageous trait was her ability to calmly think things through. She's a indifferent person who wouldn't bat an eye to harming someone for her gains, and in some aspects of herself, she's just like me.
If that's true... Then why did she make such a blatant expression of despair after seeing her bodyguards death.
Ahh... There was that as well... Wasn't Sapphire Swordwick two-faced?
My instincts were telling me that staying close to her body would be dangerous, so I move away from her without hesitation, it was at that moment a crimson stave fell onto the ground I was standing on before.
"What is that?" I say icily while ordering the parasitic poison to paralyse her body. I point my gun on her still seated body and coldly glared.
As she realises she was unable to move an inch, her face darkens as a vicious expression appears on her face, then it calmed down into cold indifference.
"Release me and I'll tell you everything about the others who are definitely going to attack you. I don't want to create a scene by using my power." She says coldly with arrogant eyes, those eyes made me want to at shoot her limbs a little, but the cries I heard in my mind caused my hands to stop.
The parasitic poison had died... The Mana inside her body didn't emit outwards, but I knew from the parasitic poisons death that she focused her Mana within her to burn it away.
Such an ability left me dumbfounded for a moment, it wasn't something I could easily comprehend, because I was sure she didn't chant one word.
He gaze gestured to the wire restraints that were binding her, but I narrowed my eyes back in response, even if she was able to get rid of the poison she definitely didn't have an upper hand.

"You say it like you could kill me if you went all out." I say monotonously.
"I can tell that you've been hiding your abilities when we fought. I didn't expect you to be such a strange type of Magic Blacksmith. However, you have no way to beat me now that you're left without your trump card that was inside my body." She deducts through steady analysation, it seems I had underestimated her greatly, it makes me curious as to why she attacked me.
I pretend to think about my answer and twirl the gun in my hand as I walked in circles around her. Her eyes were still coldly glaring at me and the crimson stave in my room floor levitated as it floated towards her. I didn't respond as she used the crimson stave to cut the wires that bound her body.
"What was the point in making me release the restraints myself?" She asks as she picked up her personal sword that she dropped after being captured.
"Nothing really." I say with an eerie smile, it was at that moment she picked up her sword that she fell to her knees powerlessly, because I had already made a bunch of parasitic poisons and placed them on her sword using Corrupting Light. Even as I was walking around I was checking all my options, I tested the limits of the new spell I made in the time it took for her to escape from my wires captivity.
It seems that I didn't have enough Mana to create any proper living organisms, the only magic I could use by mixing both attributes for now was Parasitic Poison, so checked if I could use that new ability to my advantage.
I remembered that parasitic poisons needed either nutrients or Mana to survive, and theorised that Sapphire must have over-fed the parasitic poison using her strong talent in Mana.
Then I created my plan of action, if I was to allow her to see the parasitic poisons I created beforehand, she could burn them before they entered her body, so used Corrupting Light to feed the parasitic poisons whilst I moved them somewhere she would touch.

The results were as I expected. The crimsons stave still moved about as it had sentience but didn't attack my body. Tsk... How sharp. She probably thought I'd shoot her if she let down her guard against my pistol. But I wonder how long she can keep it up?
I order the parasitic poisons not to paralyse or kill her, but to feed. Her cheeks sunk in somewhat as she freed herself by doing the same as before. A large amount of anguished screams could be heard in my mind, but I had no empathy for my tools, to me the parasitic poisons were soldiers in war.
As a former soldier myself, how could I naively believe that victory can come without sacrifice? Plus, they were merely single celled organisms, they didn't have hearts. Is what I tried to persuade myself as I heard them die.
"You really are abnormal. I give up then." She says whilst sheathing the sword at her waist. I respond to her by rolling my eyes, since I could tell that the fear she felt diminished, she probably thought I'd still let her off since she's Duke Swordwick's daughter.
"I know what you're thinking now that you've lost most your ability to resist my attacks. You think I'm not stupid enough to attack you right? Even if your weakened, a single spell from your mouth will blow me away, so it won't matter if you leave without answering any questions. Should we test if your theory is correct?" I say and threw the knife on the floor near her feet. She looks at the eerie smile on my face and unconsciously stiffens, before sighing.
"I don't know much about your Divine Protection, since each Gods protection is different, the crimson stave I used is my form of Divine Protection. The reason I came here to kill you was due to the Elemental Gods promising that any apostle who succeeds in killing you will gain immortality. That's all the information I can give you, now stop stalling and release me." She says in a fast speech, she wasn't panicked, it was just that she seemed to think that explaining her words was a chore to do.
However, it's not like I can't create an hypothesis on my own. Let's see. The Zodiac God people of Sphere worship must be Enigma no doubt, unless he's some kind of hidden entity, either way the Elemental Gods that want my life must somehow know of my existence somehow and informed their 'apostles' to kill me in return for a reward.
They practically put a bounty on my head. Ugh... I don't care if they are f*cking Gods, I'll kill anybody who tries to take my life, no forgiveness accepted.
"It seems that the Zodiac God has given me something precious, isn't that right?" I say lightly and closely watch her eyes. She didn't respond to my question, but I can theorise from the fact she didn't retort my assumption that what I said was true, a smile curves on my face as I put my weapons back into my shadow. Her face seemed to show more composure until I started walking up to her with an evil smile.
"What do you want?" She says as she tries to resist but she was too slow.
I used Light Attribute reinforcement on my feet and stepped towards her with a large stride. My figure appears before her faster than she could react. I open my hand and grab her neck, before injecting numerous parasitic poisons into her through my hand. I quickly followed up my movements by using Dark Attribute reinforcement on finger before gently tapping her unconscious.
Made sure she couldn't use her Mana to resist as I turned her into a puppet.

Dungeon Darwinism: Deepest Dungeon
