《i Hunt Mansters?》Chapter 15: Dismantle Time?

“What just happened?”
Saransh was shocked to see his advancement quest alert for ‘Smell Resistance’.
*[Just how much did you dismantle when you were a dismantler anyways?]*
“I did for a year but I never thought my skills would reach this high”
*[Then, what did you do with all the life-stones which you get as commission?]*
“Oh… the commission? I sent them over to my relatives overseas”
*[What… you had relatives?]*
“Well of course, after all when I was in comma, they are the ones who paid all my hospital expenses. So this was just me repaying their kindness”
*[But aren’t they overseas?]*
“Well yes! But nevertheless, they helped me out when I had lost everything and I think they even have good connections with the government there”
*[….]*
“Maybe I could even visit them, after all I have become a full-fledged huntsman now”
*[….]*
“Why am I even talking to you all people about all of this, maybe I have gone mad at this point”
*[Oh… Shut up! You don’t even know how power full of an existence I am]*
Mira was furious.
“You just exist in every wrist band so how are you special?”
Saransh was confused.
*[What… seriously? Did you really think… never mind]*
“What happened? Why did you stop?”
Saransh was more confused now and Mira just kept ignoring.
*[….]*
‘Let’s see what the quest is anyway’
Requirement: Endure the smell of corpses for 120 hours continuously
Advances to the skill ‘Resistance’ if certain conditions are met.
“Isn’t 120 hours way too much and it still wouldn’t advance after all of that?”
*[I think it is obvious, though]*
“What is obvious?”
Mira kept ignoring Saransh’s questions here and there.
Saransh took out a toffee from his pocket and started chewing it.
‘I think it’s time to restock the food pills, my supplies are running low.’
Saransh deserted the basket which he was using for keeping the life stones and put everything in multiple huge sacks.
‘Discerning Eyes’
‘Looks like there is no on near the elevator on the ground floor’
He grabbed onto one of those sacks and then…
‘Creator’s Gateway’
Saransh was teleported to elevator which was lying stationary in the ground floor. He went straight to the reception afterwards by dragging the sack along the way. It was then he saw a beautiful young lady arguing with the receptionist.
“Ma’am, it is not possible to arrange these many life stones at such a short notice, you might as well visit some other larger vault”
The receptionist was trying her best to convince the lady.
“Why should I go to some other vault when you were supposed to deliver it to begin with?”
“I understand the situation but there is nothing I can do…”
It was at that moment when Saransh interrupted the conversation and the whole air in reception lobby was covered in stench from the rotten mansters.
“Can you arrange some food pills and if possible I want to submit these life stones… right now”

Before the receptionist could give a response.
“How many life stones are there? I’m ready to buy all of it”
There was intense smell but she didn’t give a damn about any of it right now.
“What?”
Saransh was puzzled by the unexpected request by the lady. Usually the life stones dismantled by him cannot be traded directly or even be used but the lady in front of him was ready to buy from him directly.
Seeing Saransh dazzled, the lady spoke.
“Sorry, I didn’t introduce myself”
“I’m Kaveri Agate and I’m a scientist from DRDO”
“Ohho”
Saransh finally understood what’s going on. Since both DRDO and Dismantler Union was under the Indian Government, he could trade those life stones directly with her.
“Ah… I’m Saransh and I’m a part-time Dismantler”
“So, how much can you provide us with?”
“I have around… this much”
He was showing a hand count of 4.
“40?”
Saransh shook his head.
“400?”
He shook his head again.
“It is around 4000”
‘I always wanted to do something like this.’
*[Oh… the cringe]*
Mira was embarrassed by what Saransh was doing.
“But the sack doesn’t seem to have that many”
Kaveri was still surprised.
“Aahh… yes, the rest are still in my allotted room”
Saransh gave a quick reply.
“I am ready to buy all of it and please let the Union determine the quality since I don’t want any damaged pieces”
“No worries, please go ahead”
At this point, face of the receptionist brightened since the tension in air was dissolved. If Saransh hadn’t come, she was going to consult her superiors in resolving the issues between DRDO and the Union. More than that something else concerned her now, how did Saransh managed to dismantle these many mansters in the first place? But she was in no position to interrupt their conversation at the moment.
The entire process was sped up afterwards and based on the analysis none of the life stones were damaged.
“Anyways, what’s in it for me?”
Saransh didn’t show his grin in his face. He doesn’t have to deal with the Union and can even sell all his life stones at a much higher price based on his bargain. He even delivered the life stones without any impairments.
“8%”
Kaveri gave a quick response.
Dismantler Union gives out 3% as the compensation for the whole process. This was absurdly low considering the risk involved in the whole process, but even then Kaveri was trying to make deal at 8% because Saransh was delivering all of the life stones intact.
But Saransh had finally succumbed to his greed. He didn’t want to miss out on such a golden opportunity.
“20%”
He didn’t show his thoughts on his face yet.
“This is absurd, no one in right mind will give into such a deal”
The receptionist finally gave in and spoke her mind. But the scientist was no normal person. She was ready for the deal if it meant more life stones.
“This is a lot more than the usual compensation but I will agree to the deal if you can deliver a total of ten thousand life stones”

At this point, Saransh knew exactly what she was aiming at.
“Then make it 25% for Fifty Thousand life stones”
Kaveri paused for a second and then…
“Only if you can deliver it in 5 days or else the deal is off”
“Haha… deal!”
Saransh was extremely happy about how it was turning out. The bargain happened so fast and everything had happened in his favor. Weirdly enough, Kaveri was also thinking the same thing. Apparently receptionist was the only person who was feeling at a loss of words.
“I thought you wanted it pretty quick”
Saransh was curious.
“No… I had some urgent requirement in my research and… Ah…”
“No worries, I don’t want to pry any more than this”
Saransh quickly stepped in.
“Haha… It is good that you understand.”
Kaveri laughed it off.
“Then I’ll be back to my work”
Saransh turned around and picked up his sack.
“And Saransh… please go take a shower”
Kaveri finally uttered after holding it out for so long.
“Do I stink that much?”
Both Kaveri and the receptionist nodded at the same time.
‘Max. Level Smell resistance is great’
Saransh thought.
Before heading in, the receptionist also handed over the food pills for an entire week. The food pills which looked like a normal toffee had all the necessary nutrients for a normal human body. Taking a single pill is equivalent to a single meal whether it be breakfast/dinner. Many of the normal dishes and ingredients were also available within the vault but they came at huge cost.
Saransh was workaholic to his bones. He was planning on chewing the food pills and dismantling for the next 120 hours without any sleep. But there was one more thing which he wanted to try while he was dismantling this time.
“Well then, it is Dismantle Time… through and through but with a small a twist”
Since he was not level 1 anymore, 120 hours of continuous work was no longer a dream.
Elsewhere,
On the other side of vault had the prestigious office of DRDO. It was a Research and Development Organization which was directly under the Defense Sector. Moreover, there were just 6 branches of DRDO all over the country and the DRDO office in Jaipur was one of largest in the country.
Kaveri rejoined her team and she was in a very pleasant mood.
“What happened chief? Did you make a deal?”
One of the teammates noticed it right away. They were expecting a furious Chief but they got a happy Chief instead.
“Yes, I did… and in fact we don’t have to worry about life stones for the next few weeks”
Kaveri was very delighted. Dismantler Union of Jaipur vault had the stopped the supply of life stones for the past one week. Even after making countless requests, they didn’t resume the supply. Because of which she had to go in person to get things done but she didn’t expect it to resolve the issues for the next few weeks. She even explained about the whole deal to her colleagues.
The project they were working on was already nearing its final phase and she knew it was going to change the whole world for the better. She had worked tirelessly for the past 2 years for the project to succeed.
Inside one of largest labs in the largest research and development facility of the country.
“Ajay… connect the source and calibrate the plasma flowing in”
Ajay nodded.
There was two huge structures at the center of the lab. Even within in the lab, both of these structures were placed inside a large container with transparent walls. One of them looked heavily damaged and it looked like they were trying to make a replica of the damaged one.
“Plasma is being channeled at a constant rate and we ready to go…”
Ajay gave a status.
It was at that time when the Director of DRDO entered the lab. Everyone was a tad surprised due to his sudden visit. The only person who was unaware of the director’s presence was the chief Kaveri. She was still giving out orders and was proceeding with the trial. Director had a calm personality and he was on a visit from a different vault to fix the supply shortage affecting his daughter’s work.
Director approached Ajay who was only second in command for the project and who was still monitoring the plasma source.
“I thought there was a shortage of life stones”
Director was confused about the lab proceeding with the trials. Then after Ajay explained the whole situation to the Director, about how a super dismantler resolved the tensions between DRDO and the Union. After hearing about the deal, Director responded.
“Fifty thousand in 5 days… that is an insane amount! I believe no one in the entire country or even the world is capable of such a feat”
He was surprised.
“The only thing that can explain this feat is some kind of skill”
Ajay responded.
“Truly”
Director nodded.
“There are so many unknown skills in the world that it doesn’t surprise me anymore. A skill that can dismantle the corpses at an insane speed is the only explanation. Haha… We are trying to build a gate for teleportation and someone somewhere in the world would already be having a skill for that.”
The world was no longer normal and for the humans who are trying to catchup with the plasma based technology, this might be the greatest breakthrough ever.
Meanwhile, inside one of the rooms of Dismantler Union on the Jaipur Vault.
“Illusion Master… Dismantle Time… Creator’s Space…. Replenish… Dismantle Time”
Saransh was spamming his skills in an orderly fashion.
‘Ah… I thought I was dead for second… Replenish surely is handy’
He had now found an insane way for dismantling the mansters.

8 77Devil Inside
Life is unfair... Nothing is more truer than these three words. Michael Pierce lived his life struggling, with his parents dead and no one to ask for help, he was at the bottom of society. It was inevitable that one day he would die, whether by mugging from another bottom-feeder or by his poorer than poor lifestyle. To his surprise, it was either. Walking home from his daily routine of looking for scraps, he met with a young man whose eyes was empty and a dead-pan face, to his surprise the man was atop a dead woman's corpse. The woman was just shot, as there was smoke trailing from the hole of the gun pointed at Michael's head. He didn't move nor flinch but before he could do anything a bullet quietly passed through his head killing him. Having no time to process what was happening or see what was around him, he heard a calm, confident and very persuasive voice. "Do you want to live and change everything?"
