《The Fisher King》VII. Before We Enter

Right before they entered the tavern, Mallary turned towards Opal and got down on his knees. He reached into a pocket in his pants and pulled out a piece of black cloth. “Here,” Mallary said, removing Opal’s pink hoodie. “Hold still,” he tried to put the bandana around Opal’s mouth, but she resisted.
Opal thought she was going to be hurt when Mallary tried to put the bandana on. It brought back memories of when she was in the ruins. She pushed it away, but when he tried again, she grabbed it and threw it away. The wind blew it back into Mallary’s hand. He tried again. But she kicked him in the crotch; it didn’t do anything.
“Stop resisting,” Mallary whispered to her. He tried a few more times and stopped when he saw her start to cry. “It’s alright,” Mallary said, wiping away her tears. “Look! It’s safe.” He then placed it over his face. “See, it won’t hurt you!”
Opal grabbed the bandana out of his hand and examined it. She pulled and twisted it and placed it over her face; it fell off. Picking it up, Opal tried to put it over her face as Mallary did. After trying a few times, she handed it back to Mallary, pointed at it, then her face.
“Alright, alright, I’ll put it on you.” Mallary carefully placed it around her face and wrapped it around, tieing a knot in the back. He then tightened it, which Opal responded by pulling on the bandana.
“Tight,” she said, tugging on it.
“I know you may not like it, but don’t tug on it. I’ll have to do it over–” Someone interrupted Mallary.
“You daft bastard! You’re blocking the way!” A man yelled at them.

Mallary got up and replied, “You wanna go fuck face!” Pulling out a crimson dagger with a featherlike silver-red handle for inside his jacket. He threw it at the dude, slicing the guy’s shoulder. “What goes around stabs your back,” raising his hand. The dagger flew back into his open palm.
“What the–!” The man ran off in fear.
“Well...” Mallary put the dagger back into his coat. “That was exciting,” he whistled. He pulled Opal’s hoodie back up over her head. “So, are you ready to go in? It might be a little strange in there. Just stay close, and I’ll protect you.”
Opal nodded her head and grabbed his hand, “Go.”
“Alright, do you want to lead the way?” Mallary said, patting her hood.
Opal walked toward the door, followed by Mallary. She then tried to open the door. But could not reach the handle at her size and couldn’t jump. She tried reaching for it by standing on her toes but couldn’t. Frustrated, Opal was about to throw a fit. She closed her eyes one more time and reached for the door handle.
Mallary bent the handle down so that Opal could reach it. Opal grabbed onto the handle and pulled it the rest of the way down. Opal opened her eyes to see she had opened the door, not knowing Mallary had helped. She smiled under her mask, proud that she had opened the door.
Opal saw the bright lights cracking through the open door and lots of sound. She grew nervous, looking up at Mallary for help.
Mallary smiled, “You’re the boss. Lead the way.”
Opal pushed the door open and entered the Laughing Coffin.

One Eyed Ghoul; a Tokyo Ghoul fanfic.
A for want of a nail fic I write in between moments when I'm working on my original story. Originally posted on FanFiction.net, but brought over here to allow people to compare it to my original work if they wish. The premise is as follows: Hide decides to pay Ken an early visit in the hospital. He cares too much to let his friend recover alone. A tiny change to the sequence of events, an entirely different story. Some bloody scenes, but no worse than the original story offered.

A Nation of Distances (possibly a dystopian love story)
Michael lives in a toxic macho world with extreme male hierarchy. When he gets a weird rating that makes his place even more problematic he's forced to choose a fiancée at a Wife School, and he slowly discovers more about the other side of the great divide between the sexes in The Nation. If only the world would stop being so complicated... On the other side there's Megan, who's more interested in books than in marriage, and the unpredictable Eliza who seems to have a connection with Micheal already. Will they be able to cross the distance and become friends against all the rules of their own world, or will they just be crushed? Are positive relationships between men and women even possible? And is there a way to change the world or is that just a naive thought of a silly wimp? 'A Nation of Distances' is a slightly dystopian dialogue-heavy drama set in a low sci-fi future setting about the war between the sexes, disconnect and friendship. The genre will fluctuate in between more slice-of-life parts and soft sci-fi drama with possible romantic elements, with alternating lead and switching perspectives once more of the main characters are established. Content Warning: Certain concepts and scenes might be disturbing and/or triggering to some, even though the story itself won't be extremely heavy most of the time. Sexism as a double-edged sword destructive to both sexes is an important part of the story, but so is friendship.Note that all descriptions of persons and places are purely fictional and made up by the writer, and any resemblance with anything in the real world is a coincidence, since the real world is not supposed to be dystopian anyway!

This project has no purpose
Summary: This is the story about the life of a "human" amidst a world that only appears to be earth at first glance. Long ago the face of this world resembled the typical tales of yore; of knights and fairies, swords and magic, however such an era has come and gone. Even the world of fantasy has progressed steadily into the modern epoch filled with the wonders of science and technology! In the ancient times a certain crisis had occured that lead to the quick decline of various magical species. Due to their low population and general incompatibility with the other races they could not crossbreed to save their numbers. Left with no other choice the major races of the world gathered together in an attempt to change the fate of this dying world. Their only hope was a special 'world-tier' magic known as 'the dusk of harmony'. The result of this magic would dissolve every race into their purest essences known as 'aspect' and instill them within the human population. The humans were the best choice as their numbers were numerous and form was similar to most races. As such, the various races of this world managed to save themselves in essence and soul only, though perhaps there was no other choice. With the various humans now carrying the weight and aspects of those who came before, life has continued onto the modern age. Yet, even amongst these hybrids 'Pures' emerge from time to time, beings who have inherited not only aspects of the ancient races, but their forms too. These Pures are often times exceptionally talented and seen as near deities. This is the story of a perculiar boy who is born with the soul of a stranger from the world known as 'Earth'. With the memories and soul of a human, he too is a rare Pure; a pure human. --- This project literally has no purpose and is being written because I felt like it. There isn't any semblance of a solid direction nor have I thought about any characters aside from the main character and a few auxiliary cast. If you would like to contribute to building this world with me then please contact me through a DM or by leaving a comment, I will be sure to credit you.
