《The Fisher King》III. It's Time To Go

Mallary waited for fifteen minutes until Opal came back after getting dressed. She was wearing light blue pants with a single red stripe on each side. The stripes were as red as a sunset, which was a great contrast with blue which was as nice as the clearest sky on a sunny day. Her shoes were pure white, like they had never been worn once in their life. The socks were also white, but more comfortable than any other piece of clothing on her. The shirt was a chartreuse green, which didn't really match with the other clothing. She was also wearing a pink jacket coat with a vertical and horizontal black line that went down all the way to the sleeves. There were a pair of two black stripes that went around the sleeves near the hand, and the last one was on the tip of the collar. "You have terrible taste."
Mallary whined, "After feeding you? Healing you? getting you new clothes? You're being mean?" He sat there mopping for a minute then changed his mood. "Well whatever!! Not everyone has the same taste!"
He turned back to Opal, "well let's get going!" Mallary and Opal started their journey to slay The Crimson Bones of Death, unaware of the true danger that awaits them. Mallary turned his back to Opal back, squatted down, and stretched his arms out to her feet. "Here you can ride on my back. You must be tired." Opal grabbed his back and wrapped her arms around his neck. Mallary used his arms to support her legs. They set off, leaving the town behind.
Opal looked back at the once burning city one last time. Most of the fires that were once burning were mostly extinguished. The walls were now covered in black charcoal. The proud city full of life was now a void of death with only huge parts of the wall standing. Opal turned back forward towards the futures.
With her past behind and an unknown future ahead. Opal closed her eye, dreaming about the day her cries were answered.
