《Fire and Stars》Chapter Ten

Penelope started walking. Isabella followed her. They walked for a few minutes. Penelope started thinking about how to bait the deer. 'Someone killed it,' Penelope thought, 'It's angry, it hates humans. I need to bait it with anger but not kill myself.' "What are you thinking?" Isabella asked. "How to bait the deer." Penelope answered. "Should we eat and sleep then you can think about it?" Isabella questioned. "Oh, I've forgotten," Penelope said. Penelope stood for a second and looked up. The bright crescent moon was shining in the dark blue night sky. Penelope stood there for another minute. Once she relaxed her stomach grumbled.
"Yeah, I could use some food." Penelope said. "Ok, let's find some place to eat." Isabella remarked. Isabella looked around and saw two trees alone and together. "Can you cut those trees with your powers?" Isabella asked. "Maybe," scarcely responded. Penelope got closer to the two redwood trees. Penelope grabbed her hands together. She slowly opened her hand and released the fire to the bottom of the right tree. The fire sawed through the tree. The tree collapsed forward. Penelope smiled. Penelope did it again with the other tree. Isabella started smiling too.
Penelope and Isabella sat down on the trees. They had their sandwiches and their fruit. When they were done eating, they decided to take a nap. Penelope dreamed of hugging her sister. Penelope thought about it more and more. If Reagan came back, what would that do to the Earth. It might sound overexaggerated but, that if what she thought. What if Penelope needed to kill someone to get Reagan back? What if she wasn't powerful enough to get Reagan back? 'Why is Isabella helping me?' She thought to herself. 'I mean, maybe, she's just nice,' her thoughts continued, 'It's just why hasn't she left yet? This is so dangerous anyone would leave now.' Penelope was grateful that she was helping. Penelope didn't want her to die. Penelope herself thought she might die. Penelope slept for more time. She woke up with the sun shining in her face.

She heard an engine running. Penelope sat up and looked around. She nudged Isabella to wake her up. Isabella slowly woke up. "What's wrong?" Isabella asked. "Do hear that?" Penelope asked back. Isabella looked around. "An engine?" Isabella remarked. "Yeah, there's a car here?" Penelope questioned. "Maybe, we should focus on baiting the deer." Isabella said. "You're right but, still maybe, we should see who's here." Penelope stated. "No, we have to do this." Isabella commanded. "Ok, let's go to the cafeteria to bait the dear." Penelope remarked.
Penelope and Isabella rose up and started walking. Between the time they walked Penelope started a conversation, "So what's your family like?" "Oh, I don't have a very good relationship with my parents but, I love my siblings." "Oh, that's bad to here. My parents love, sorry you don't have that love." Penelope said. "It's fine, my other friends support me enough." Isabella remarked. "That's good. Why do you have such a bad relationship with them?" Penelope asked. "Oh, I'm a lesbian and they don't like that." Isabella responded. "Me, too. I guess I'm lucky." Penelope remarked. They reached the cafeteria. "Now what do we do?" Isabella questioned. "We draw attention to us." Penelope responded. "How?" Isabella asked. "We yell, we make noise," Penelope responded, "or..." Penelope casted a ball of light and fire. She made it not as big as she could have so not to draw human attention. Penelope and Isabella heard leaves rustling.
Penelope hid and left Isabella alone. She hid beneath a tree. Penelope put the ball in front of Isabella. The deer came running to her. Right before it could hurt Isabella Penelope cast the spell. The ball of fire of light exploded and so did the deer's body. The leaves and twigs collapsed onto the floor. A small ball of light and fire escaped. Penelope went closer to the small ball. It should have blinded her. Penelope couldn't look away.
