Hi Wing,

You have pointed out 2 things I should take into consideration, when going into a collaboration with Royal Road.

“linking off-site/discord which we won't do”

I have read before, that Royal Road stopped using Discord and instead tries to keep most of its community over at the Forums.

One can understand the choice behind it, but questions why?

The same question lies here?

Of course, my Server is my Server and thereby not associated by Royal Road and less able to be monitored. I still have put a bunch of effort into making it safe and easy to use.

With Bots and auto mod to keep all of it together + using and now hiring Discord Bot developers to enhance the community usage and easy way of handling tasks over at my Discord Server.

All of it does not compare to Discord as an Organization themselves, created to support hold and help communities grow. Most Authors creators or handlers of Community start creating their own over at Discord, as it is easier to make, has a bunch of addons like Bots and commands to keep it organized and by creating automation it keeps it hands free one of the easiest ways to grow and house a community.

Such as many, link of their Discord in the authors Note, or link of their patreon and their PayPal down at the end of a chapter. So should others get the opportunity to link of their communities to keep growing as their own Person as an Author. Denying that feature with the constant growth of Discord won’t help Royal Road or keep any benefits in that area.

Most supporting factors of linking such things is the freedom you grant to other Users of your Platform.

It’s an internal part which will come as a feature in near time, so yes linking of sites not associated with the Project or the book should be banned and not allowed, but keeping a platform trough which one expresses their passion, by saying its of platform, just because the feature can’t be used on Royal Road?

Lastly that’s not a problem of my Project or me in person, but more a Rule Problem right now implemented on your Platform, which can be discussed in more detail, which I would highly recommend being discussed in more detail, as denying a collaboration over such parts, before a discussion can be issued is not to my “liking”. liking=understanding in such a discussion

“Implement it internally at which point that's not something we would consider before the project proved to be successful first”

I can’t for the world of it implement my project into Royal Road itself, it’s not possible, as this is not a Project collaboration, but a Company collaboration and I don’t see any way of my Company fitting on your website.

Yes, the Project could get some enhancement, but this can be discussed personally. I have found this discussion spanning over days over written text to be exhausting.

When I talked with my Family about my thought of asking Royal Road personally for a collaboration I did it with this example in mind.

If my Company finds interest in collaborating with my School and the School tells me to show how successful, my Project would be with the students.

Then this would drag down the face of my company, as the school does not see my company of face value.

This will also reflect in me then trying to show of my Project to the Students, as I will not get any helping hand in showing my legitimacy of my actions and spoils, I get will be rotten to the core.

Now seeing this in the perspective of this scenario happening on face value, then the school itself would talk with me personally about the success or potential of our collaboration and what could happen and also, how far or what could be done in the collaboration by for example trying out the collaboration for a limited time after discussing the details of it.

I can to 100% understand that the success of my Project is not shown and that I should prove that success to Royal Road personally before asking about a Collaboration.

It is just that I’m not Mikoschele asking for a Collaboration about my Project, but Arechnocadia asking about a Collaboration with my Company.

Which will span from any written Project, giving the benefit of recommending any writer or author to publish their work on Royal Road, to showing of the success of such a collaboration happening in general.

This in consideration will equal a fair discussion about Future of my Projects and how those will interact with Royal Road.

There are already a bunch of Project in production spanning over a series of plans and connection all Starting with Project Book not only being Project book.

At minimum I should be able to show of the success of my Project with a Collaboration with Royal Road in mind and not try to lower myself by trying to show it off to the community itself, as the first thing which should always be discussed is not the community’s interest but the Companies interest in that sense Royal Road interest.

How should I be aware if a Collaboration with Royal Road makes sense, when after showing of my success I get the notice that the principle does not align, and a collaboration is not possible.

For what have I done my promotion, my adventure, all this work for?

If all I get are some views and members, gained in an unoptimized time for value calculation?

This is my view to a collaboration with Royal Road. I would Love to talk with you personally about this this week, as I have my holidays this week and can take time off to talk and discus this deeply with you, in which I can by the factor of 1000 explain my Project and my Company better and, in more detail, and discuss the collaboration ideas or thoughts behind it.

“I'm sorry, but I regret to inform you that we will not be actively supporting this project.”

I totally understand, as you have read before and decided to deny the Project collaboration, I did not see a future of such a Collaboration being discussed over support tickets anyway. Like XD

But I do see the experience I get through these talks to be valuable.

Not just valuable to me, but also to you Royal Road.

A further discussion should not be avoided, as it helps not just me but also you.

In understanding our limits and choices in that matter.

I wish for this to be discussed further, so it does not become a black stain in my first discussion about a Collaboration and so I can in the future ask other Companies to collaborate together for a better understanding and future.

This collaboration will help you improve your community, interaction, and future perspective into the genre distribution and author developer.

Not just in the sense of a Project, but a high-quality insight into training and then adopting authors into your ranks as a company.

As to any positive influences on Royal Road can be discussed, as there are many benefits to such a collaboration, but listing them without knowing the preferences is as difficult as guessing someone’s favorite animal. (My guess penguin)

Side Note from my mother: So, do list your preferences and ideas behind what specific success or benefit it needs to provide, to consider a collaboration with Arechnocadia.

I hope this news arrives you in good spirit, as I guess that we both will need them.

My further inquiry instead of stopping this discussion, is because of many open questions I’m unaware on how to fill, which are also highly needed and would bring a sour face to my family if told I have no answer to them.

P.s. 2 I would almost recommend any kind of business contact for you, as researching in the early days, gave me no result on how I can contact you from a business perspective and not trough a Support ticket, as I’m not sure other Companies who want to get into contact with Royal Road would write an E-Mail. But also, you did say It would be faster, so yeah maybe they do just contact you over E-Mail and I did the bad contacting you for such a thing over the Support ticket.

P.s. 3 After talking with my family over it my mom piped in and told me, that she is not that sure about a talk between us 2 in which I explain my Project or my Company, as it is too much Information and to difficult to understand in detail. So she worries that you would quit mid talk with me ;-;

Also, to provide to that side note would be, that this happened more often than I like to commit, as when I try to explain my Projects without guided map and my prior knowledge spread trough pages and Website, it starts to kinda get to people. Even if taken the time most of my family members have given up on understanding the Project and my company and instead like to just support me in the backlines.

Example on how I explain this phenomenon: A highschooler trying to explain their math to a middle schooler, who is not aware about any formulas and calculation shorts. Now trying to press all this knowledge without any prior experience or knowledge to the subject, makes the complete explanation appear overly bloated and complicated, even if it is not appearing too difficult to understand to the person explaining it or anyone on the same league or experience grade.
