《Road》Chapter 3

After my slime absorbed the other one to increase in level, I started grinding the slime's absorption. After third absorbed slime, I leveled up. But I didn't stop. Since I already had enough mana stones for a place to stay, I focused on my best Skill instead. After the fifth, my slime has leveled up to level three. After the twelfth, all slimes are disappeared. Thinking they will spawn again, I put my torch on the wall and sat down. There was something I was wondering since I first opened my inventory.
I took out the book. There was no title, so I opened it. As soon as I did, it burned and an odd green smoke came to be, then forcefully got in from my nostrils. Then I saw the screen.
Holy Light 1/25
A bolt of holy light will hit the target to heal (Int)*5 HP.
This spell will damage the evil beings instead with a multiplier of 15.
This spell will evolve with higher levels.
Cost: 100MP
I whistled. If I was a mage, I could do great things with this spell.
After pumping myself, I looked at my slime. It was a lot more imposing than it was before I came here. For some reason, it never got into darkness. I shrugged and yawned. I leaned on the wall and closed my eyes.
I woke up to the voice of a slime. I opened my eyes slowly and tried to will the sleep away. After a few seconds, I managed to open my eyes completely and looked. I couldn't believe what I saw. There was a giant slime that was trying to absorb mine. I quickly stood up and ran towards it. I pressed my fingers to each other and opened them, holding it like a dagger. Then I started to pierce the bigger slime with my hand. What I did must have been effective since it turned to me and tried to engulf me. If it was another slime, I would let it try, but it wasn't. It was big enough to easily engulf and absorb me. Thankfully it was very slow. I started turning around it and continued to pierce its membrane. After a few minutes, there were easily a dozen holes, where Slime's fluids freely flowing out. Even though this much was enough, I continued to pierce it.

After what felt like a few hours, I managed to make it small enough for my slime to engulf it. I took a few steps back and started to wait. While I was fighting with the giant slime, my slime was happily absorbing all the fluid it lost to its wounds. My slime got much bigger than before I slept. I looked at it a bit more carefully and saw it got slower. 'Everything has a price I guess.'
When my slime, finished absorbing, I saw three screens in front of me.
Defeated Slime Level 5
Gained 50 EXP
Your slime absorbed another slime!
Slime's level increased to level 5
Your slime has gained a perk point.
Monster Breeder Skill's level increased to level 3
"Perk Point? Status." I quickly opened my status and focused on my Monster Breeder Skill. There wasn't anything about Perks, let alone how to use them. 'It will be probably unlocked at higher levels.' While I was thinking, new screens showed themselves.
Defeated Slime Level 2
Gained 20 EXP
Your level increased to level 3
You gained Agility Boost Skill.
I focused on Agility Boost Skill.
BOOST AGILITY
Increases the Agility of the target by (Soul)/5% for (Soul)*10 Seconds
Cost: 25MP
"Well, that's another great Skill. I can't wait to put together my own team. We would be unstoppable."
After checking my new Skill, I took my torch and started going towards the exit. At the door, I looked at my slime, which was wiggling (probably) happily. I smiled and willed him to disappear. He did, so I put my hand on the door and found myself in the cave. I walked towards the outside and saw the guards standing, well, guard. One of them heard my approach and turned to me. He then gestured something to another guard who took something out and started walking towards me.
I carefully looked at what's in his hand and noticed that it was a scroll. He came before me and opened it. After a while, he closed it and looked at me. "What did you do in there all this time? You gained what, two mana stones?"

I massaged the back of my neck. “I slept there most of the time, so..”
Guard looked at me incredulously. “You slept in a dungeon?” I shrugged. “You are lucky slimes are blind. If not for that, you would be dead.” I nodded. He sighed. “Well then. You don't have anything to pay. You can go.”
Since I don't know who else to ask my question I called for him. “Umm. Guardsman.”
He stopped moving and looked back at me. “What is it, citizen?”
“I need a cheap weapon. Where can I find it?”
He put his and on his chin. And after a short while nodded to himself. "There is Zenko's shop close to the center. He should have cheap weapons in store. You can buy it from him. Though I recommend you to haggle and exchange your mana stones for money."
I nodded. “Thanks for your help.” I started walking towards the center of the city. I waved at the guards and looked forward.
First I went to the guild and exchanged all of my petty mana stones, which netted me 60 small copper or 6 big copper. Then I made my way towards the city center.
After walking a few minutes and asking a few people, I found myself in front of a shop with the sign 'Zenko's Shop'. I went inside and looked around. There was weapons and armors of all kind. Feeling curious, I touched one of the armors. It was like I expected, cold to the touch and hard. I was inspecting the armor when I heard someone clear their throat.
I turned back to the voice. The person in front of me was a tall and muscular man with dark wavy hair and blue eyes. I waved at the man. "Hello, you must be Zenko. I am Gidget. I am looking for a cheap, short spear.
Zenko nodded thoughtfully. “How cheap do you mean?”
I put my hand on my chin for a second to think. “Fifty small coppers.”
Zenko shook his head. “I have one, you can buy for that money but its not in good condition. It will probably break in a month. If you use it on something strong, sooner then that.”
I shook my head. “That's not a problem. I intend to use it on slimes.”
Zenko nodded and moved towards inside the shop and I followed a few steps then started waiting. After a few seconds, Zenko came with a short spear with a partially rusted tip. “Here, your spear. Don't try to use it on anything other than slimes. If you do that, it should stay in one piece and useful even longer than a month.” He held the spear towards me. I took it slowly. “It will be fifty small copper.”
I nodded, took the money out, and gave him. Zenko counted the money and nodded. Seeing this, I put the weapon in my inventory. After a wave, I was out. 'I don't need to stay at an inn. I can just sleep in the dungeon. Come to think of it, I would never think there will be a time I could sleep on stone ground. This body must be a bit different then what's normal in my previous world. No matter, it's very welcome.' Then I started walking towards the dungeon.

Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri-Sat, 10am Central/ 3pm GMT. ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.

Cosmic Bulldozing Team
"Welcome to the Cosmic Bulldozing Team! CBT for short... references to any other acronyms are purely coincidental." Breve has one exceptional gift: an inborn potential for Resurrection magic. The cost? Every other healing spell she casts is absolutely paltry in comparison to the rest of her race, making her family outcasts within her society. That potential alone, however, classes Breve as a Rank A Healer. By what metric? Well, by the crazy elf lady who’s about to destroy her planet. Wait, what? Here's the low-down: her planet has been targeted by the Cosmic Bulldozing Team, which, as their name suggests, operates in the apparently lucrative business of destroying planets. This comes with the unfortunate side-effect of also murdering everyone who lives there. And Breve would’ve been killed, too, if she hasn’t unintentionally passed their audition for a new healer. Unwillingly saved by the people who just annihilated everything Breve ever knew and loved, she’s dragged into a massive spaceship before, without a moment’s reprieve, being assigned missions to sally forth and commit the same atrocities on other planets. And with Breve's home lying in a pile of celestial bedrock, it seems that cooperating is the only option. And she will cooperate, or so help her, they'll send her back whence she came: into the void of space, where the smashed rubble of her planet now drifts along. "Buckle in, rookie: you've got some planetary destruction ahead of you." (Updates every 2 days.)
