Ronald went back to his house. He did not greet anyone and went directly to his room. He saw his grandfather Jason sitting on his bed.
"Are you frustrated?" Asked Jason with a smile.
"Of course I am," replied Ronald without hesitation.
"Why?" Asked Jason.
"Why? It was supposed to be mine! I was supposed to be the champion! If he defeated me up front I wouldn't have said anything, but he came from behind!" Shouted Ronald.
"Calm down first," said Jason, when he saw that Ronald calmed down he continued, "Did he cheat?"
"... No."
"Did he win using his own power?"
"... Yes."
"Then what is the point of being angry? Instead of blaming others, blame yourself for letting your guard down. Only by accepting your own weakness will you be able to overcome it. Denying reality is no different from an alcoholic idiot, drinking down his sorrow, only to wake up the next day, his sorrow remains while a day has been wasted," said Jason then he continued, "Plus, it's not like you lost without a reason. That boy has the potential to become a Death Master. It's not so easy to discover him without some attainment in the major laws."
"He has the potential to become a Death Master!" Ronald was surprised.
"Alright, that's all I have to say, remember to always stay strong, this way you will have the chance to become a Time Master." Then he remembered something and added, "try to befriend him, those with the potential to become Death Masters are either lunatics or simple people, this boy seems to be the latter, plus his situation is similar to yours."
"I understand grandfather," said Ronald as he watched his grandfather disappear from his room.

2 days passed. It was time for the second round. Artix was in group 67 while Ronald was in group 32. Those in Artix's group looked at him with weary eyes. Artix could only smile in response.
The time came and their bracelets lit up. Artix found himself outside this time. The houses around were quite distanced from each other. No tall buildings could be found. Only stars covered the sky. Without delay, Artix cast Hide. He hid in a corner and used an earth spell to feel the tremors in the ground. He was searching for pray.

Two girls were fighting on a wide street. One had wings while the other had horns. The horned girl slashed with her sword. The winged girl dodged and dealt a blow to the horned girl's stomach. The horned girl condensed a shield in front of her but was blown away, in midair, she cast several Earthwalls to surround the winged girl. She managed to land on her feet. She immediately gathered her mana and formed a huge sword and slashed towards the prison she built. The winged girl broke out of prison in time. She condensed a huge palm and grabbed the sword. She used her wings to maneuver in the air. She condensed another palm and struck towards the horned girl. The horned girl used Earthscape and managed to escape to the ground. Several arrows were shot from the ground. The winged girl infused air law into her wings and managed to dodge them successfully. She too made several arrows and shot them toward the ground. They had both locked onto each other. Seeing that neither of them were gaining the upper hand. They both retreated, as to not become prey for the others. One flew and used an air invisibility spell. The other dug her way out of the battlefield. They did not forget to break the locked gazes that were put on them.

The horned girl made a small cave in the ground and planned to recuperate there. She looked around and was sure that even if the ghost locked onto her he wouldn't be able to come. 'From the information, his domain should only be 40km. His attacks shouldn't have enough power to reach this deep.'
Directly above the horned girl, Artix stood there not sure of what to do. His attacks couldn't penetrate deep enough! Even if they could, she would be able to sense them. A thought struck Artix. Artix condensed an arrow. He then infused it with the death law. He then shot the arrow towards the ground. Unexpectedly the arrow managed to reach the girl, but she dodged it ahead of time. Artix became ecstatic, but that was only for a moment. Another idea came to him, 'what if the arrow could use Hide?' Artix wasn't sure but he wanted to give it a try. He condensed another arrow and infused it with the death law. Then, he communicated with the death law inside the arrow and willed for it to use Hide. His experiment succeeded. In fact, what Artix did was the basis of weapon refining, but he didn't know that yet. Artix then supplied it with 260 XMR. Immediately, he shot it towards the ground.
The girl was sitting in her cave while she observed her surroundings for any attacks. That attack just now really scared her. 'Thankfully, his attacks aren't ghostly like him,' the girl thought, relieved. It was then that the arrow arrived and the girl disappeared.
Artix then found a place to hide and rest. The attack just now made him somewhat tired. But next, his hunt would be much easier. A smile couldn't help but emerge on his face.
He began to use his consciousness to search for his next prey.
**********
In the next 3 days, many of the students were hit by Artix. The final night came and the remaining students made their way to the platform. 23 students were left. But, only 15 arrived on the platform. The 15 looked at each other and decided to take down the ghost first. They unleashed attacks that covered the entire platform. Everyone looked around, but they couldn't see anything. Suddenly, their bracelets lit up simultaneously. They appeared outside. Confused, they looked at the screen, but they could only see a platform covered with dust. They couldn't spot the boy. They asked around and learned that they were struck by an arrow that came from the ground.
In the town, in one of the houses near the platform, a tunnel was dug that led to the platform. Light briefly flashed before it disappeared.
Guarded or unguarded, death would arrive the same.

Author's note: I love the idea of kingdom-building novels and think the genre has a lot to offer, but I don't think many authors do them very well. Here is my attempt. The novel has a strong focus on politics and kingdom building, with occasional action and a bit of humor. Have fun. Cover was made by MrZombie Updates three times a week.
