《Raine》18 | The Wall

"You guys know something called 'The Wall' they did up in school?" Zeland fell back on his bed, sinking into the too-soft mattress.

"Whazzat?" Quayn chewed on his pencil, crossing his legs on his chair, his fringe tied back in a mini-bun.

"Not sure, I heard it's a wall of pictures. Along the East Wing corridors." Zeland held his phone up in the air, swiping at his newly airdropped pictures. "They took it down several years ago I heard, you guys know anything 'bout that?" He zoomed in on the picture, looking at the arrangement. There were pictures, of all sizes and themes pinned up framelessly on the wall, it looked pretty classic.

"East Wing corridor..." Quayn twirled on his spinning chair, then rolled to a sudden stop, "the wall you stopped at the other day?"

"Think so." He propped himself up, "there used to be pictures there?" Zeland wondered why he was so adamant on finding out.

The redhead expressed himself with a careless shrug.

"Yeah, during Year One I think?" Xavier's muffled voice sounded from under his covers, "I remember walking past that entire stretch of pictures along the corridors, I thought they had some event going on that time."

"So two years ago?" Zeland tapped his chin. Xavier was in Year Three. That would explain thing how he didn't remember seeing the wall, he wasn't in school two years ago, no wonder he didn't remember.

"Three years, I'm talking about my Year One, I'm Year Four." Xavier grumbled, somehow displeased at how they always seemed to forget he was a year above them.

"Three years ago..." Zeland echoed, confused.

A pillow flew in his direction. "You weren't even here yet. Now throw my pillow back to me."

Zeland racked his brains. "When... what's his name, Brusten was still dean?"

"Yeah, how did you know?" Xavier looked up, still groggy-eyed and muddy-brained. "Oh wait, you took a gap year." He nodded to himself. Having figured things out, he pulled his covers over his head, and went back to snoring, completely forgetting his abandoned pillow.

Zeland turned to stare at the ceiling. Three years ago, he was in Year One. He definitely knew there was a wall, or something along the East Wing corridor, seeing how he was so used to walking that way and stopping by there, but for some reason, he can't seem to recall anything about it.

His brows pulled together, suddenly wondering if he had forgotten something important.
