《GODFALL》12 Slim's Adventure

Rhoxeus, the damned fool. "Slim! Are you even listening?" I frown, "You aren't listening either." He looks into my eyes and I continue, "This is my passion. You told me to find what I love-" "One that doesn't harm you!" He pauses, "Maybe we can get you something to test on-" "No!" "Why not?" "Does a cook not taste his creation first?" "You could have died!" I growl, He'll never understand me! "I'm careful!" I march out as he calls out, "Wait!" I slam the door and walk down to Uda's hut.
The door opens and out comes Tesyn and Markus. "If it isn't the metal burner and the clumsy swordswoman!" Tesyn scoffs, "At least I didn't almost kill myself with poison." I smirk, "I'd say fumbling and almost killing an angel is worse." Her lips quiver as Markus shouts, "We were worried sick!" She stammers, "Yeah. Why did you poison yourself?!" I groan, "Damn it! No one gets what I want!" I storm off and Thadius bumps past me. He just looks at me with those metallic eyes of his.
Down at the lake, Gladius just sits there, deep in thought. I sneak up and rub into his hair, "What the hell!?" I rub and laugh. "You gotta watch yourself." He jerks his head away and just stares. I sigh and sit down. "I can't take it here anymore." What? I turn, "Why's that? This is a moving caravan utopia! The food and spoils are always plenty!" "No. Dad doesn't know what to do. We're just running, just-surviving." He leans closer to me, "Can you keep a secret?" "I'm slim." He takes a breath in, "I'm leaving tonight." I laugh a little, "See you at dawn then." "I'm not kidding." "You'll be back before dawn." He groans, "No! I'm never coming back." His eyes grow fierce, "At least I'll die exploring this vast world." He's not kidding. I should go with. "Then I'll come with." "No." "I know what food is poisonous." He groans, "Fine. You can come." "Okay, where should I meet you?" "Here at night. Don't be late." I pat on his back and stand up, "See ya then!" Old mans' gonna freak ouuut.

Come dusk, everyone's still quite lively. I sneak up to the makeshift armory, "Lock it up for tonight! And watch out for Slim!" With a spear in hand, Tesyn nods to Uda, "Right! I'll stab him if need be, sir!" "No! Don't do that! Just whack him with the other end!" Damn it! I'll need that bow Uda just made! She smirks, "Gladly, sir!" Uda marches off to his home- As soon as she turns away, I sneak past to the side of the shed, grab a torch and set the damn thing on fire. She runs over as I run inside and grab a bow, some arrows and my poison they took, the deadly kind.
Tesyn barges in, "Dad! The armory's on fire!" I jump up, "Tell everyone else we might be under attack!" She nods and I run out after her. Past the fire, a beam shoots to the sky, over the lake. What?! I run over to the lake- Gladius slaps his hands together and a portal opens. Who taught him that?! "Don't!" Slim bumps past me, dropping a bundle of arrows. I try to grab him, but my leg tingles, then my body goes numb. I fall over as Slim looks back to wave with a smirk.
Gladius shouts to me, "You coming or not?!" I look at every angel. Tesyn, Markus and Thadius run towards us. I wave and step through the portal. Goodbye, mediocre life. The portal closes and Gladius shouts, "Whoa, what is all that?" Bright lights from afar, a great big blue sphere, green shapes on it. "What is this place?" Gladius shouts, "He said it's a gateway to the human world!" "Who did?" Gladius zooms towards the great living ball. I follow after him. We fly super fast, more than I've ever gone. Bright lights scatter the inside of this world. I try to stop, but nothing happens. Gladius grabs me and shouts, "Why can't we stop!?" We look at each other and shout as we fall, "I don't wanna die!" We zoom down into stone buildings, millions of moving metal and glass. Everything goes black.
I wake up and a woman in white comes up, "Seems like you both had a fall." I yawn and shake my head, "Where am I?" My voice is different? An old angel looks at me, "Slim?" I squint, "Gladius?" He shouts, "You're old!" I point, "So are you!" Gladius gets up- "Sir- you shouldn't-" He looks into some glass and shouts, "That's not me!" I get up as the woman runs out the room, bump him out the way, I grab my face, I'm someone else?! We turn to each other, "Who are we?!"

I barge into their room, "They need restraints!" Doctor Gank stares ahead, "Where are they?" I turn and they're gone.
Giant metal things roar down the roads without end, "Gladius, what the hell happened?!" "I think she called it possession." "Possession?! That's what demons do!" "I don't care!" "There was even a beam in the sky, you might have killed everyone we knew!" "We! We might have killed them!" Damn. Might as well make the most of it all. "So- We are-" "Humans. We're possessing humans." "How do we get back?!" "She told me to think of a place or something and it would reveal itself to us." "She?" A young woman in a black suit runs up to us, “Hey you guys.” Something feels off here. She’s giving off a dark allure. Her eyes widen, then she puts her hands out, “No, I’m not here to hurt you!” “Sure.” “Gladius?” He looks at me, “I believe her.” “I’m on the run- from a real bad guy.” Gladius squints, “Tamslin?” She winks with a smile. “Who the hell is Tamslin?” “She was on the other end- the voice!” She acts like she's in distress, “I’m glad such big boys can help me. It’s very brave.” Gladius nods as I raise my brow, ”Keep it in your pants, lover boy.” She gets real close and looks down at me. “Awww, someone’s jealous? Don’t worry, you two can share me.” “No thanks.” She smiles seductively but her eyes are dull? “Not in the mood, boy?” “I used demon magic, had an out of body experience, now I’m in a corpse!”
I exhale, “What do you want, Tamslin?” She breathes on me with a smile, “I need you to know- that guy after me, he’s looking for this. She bends towards me, puffs her chest out and there’s a paper in her shirt. She slides it deeper in her shirt. “It’s important info, to find some special weapon. Everyone’s racing to it.” I avert my eyes, “Enough games, gimme it.” “You gotta dig for it.” “Not a chance in hell.” She grabs my hand and makes me. “I get it, you're shy.” I push her away and she giggles herself away, “Bye boys!” Gladius just looks at me with wide eyes. “What you lookin so stupid for?” He frowns with angry eyes, “You touched her!” “She made me, dumbass! Ain’t my fault you fell in love.” He raises his finger, then exhales. I shake my head and open the note.
A black sword- he comes around and points, “That’s angelic text.” “Wait, you can read?” “Yeah- The Sword of Bastion-“ He scans the paper with his eyes, “Well?” “We can’t let demons get their hands on that.” I scoff, “If it even exists.” “Why would she lie?” “Angels have always told us, demons are evil.” “But she cares for me!” I laugh, “You think she loves you?” He nods. I burst out laughing. A person walks up in a blue uniform, “Hey, you two lost?” I turn to him, “No, are you?” He raises a brow and points, “You’re asses are out.” I look back, spin, then look back at him, “What?” He leans into his small black box on his shoulder, “I got 2 guys in hospital gowns speaking some weird language?” The black box speaks, *Yeah, they were at-* We look at each other as he takes out a metal object. We run down the street and he chases us. “Stop!” “Why you chasing us?!” “Stop resisting arrest!”

Almave
Welcome to AlmaVé. First thing you have to know is that it's a tragedy. Nope, not talking about my book yet. It's a tragedy that you're reading this instead of clicking on chapter 1. I did fail speech introductions after all. My story? Right that's what you're here for. My bad, try this: Lilia Hammond is reborn (cliché, but we all know we enjoy it when it's done for a purpose) as Syndra Sanmey. She was a graphic designer who hadn't caught her break yet. She was paralyzed for months before she was offered the opportunity to join a program that would allow her to-NOPE! not virtual reality. The doctors killed her and dumped her body. Tough. In her new world, Lilia has to fight herself to find out who she truly is. With the possibility to cast magic and a second chance at life, Lilia thinks she can really make something for herself. Her goal? Become the greatest artist the world had ever seen. The rub? World is a bit darker than anything she saw on earth. Thankfully, Lilia is getting quite familiar with the darkness inside her and her magic might just be the thing to save the-hey! wait it's not that kind of book. No saving the world. No hero syndrome. Just magic and blood and a bit of crafting. Yup. Fighting. Romance? Eh? What's that? The first arc is Lilia's shift from Earth to creating backstories for the three major characters. It's not funny and light. It's often dark and funny. Ah, I really should have gone through a punk-rock phase. Or goth. Would I look good with black hair? Hmm.. There are three MCs and they are Jackson, Daryl, and Lilia/Syndra. Daryl is currently kidnapped and Jackson just awakened his magic. I don't want to spoil (much) but soon things will be very fun to write. Hope to see you there! Leave a comment even if you're just stopping by so I can say hey! Chapters to be published twice weekly. Sometimes my voice dies in my throat, buries itself beneath waves of crippling suffocation, burns itself out as cold hands tear at my laced skin. I have smiled while my eyes have cried and pleaded, my wrists numb, my lips wobbling and blue, and stars escaping this dark night that I'm trapped in. I long for a darkness that gives way to light. But I do feel the warmth of petals gathering and scattering in my cold bones, and imagine the touch and the sweetness of a kiss, and my heart rises to the surface of this sea and finds a sky painted by passing artists remaining far above our heads. I'm breathing out all the words I've kept locked under the pages of my breaking mind. And by doing so, I'm going to heal.TRIGGER WARNINGS: depression, anxiety, self harm, suicidal thoughts, OCD, panic attacks
