Oliver walks back into the control room and takes a seat on the captains' chair before tapping on the control panel.
'Communication systems online' a voiceover announces.
"Video link to Haven HQ" Oliver instructs the system.
'Video link being established' the voice over replies and a screen switches on, revealing an individual resting their feet against their own control panel.
"Phoenix, you lazy bastard, I can see exactly what you're doing" Oliver snaps at him.
Phoenix not expecting this begins to choke on his drink and start coughing.
"Commander?" He asks looking around the room.
Oliver taps something onto the touchscreen control panel and a live stream appears on the screens in front of Phoenix.
"I …" Phoenix starts to say but gets distracted by the information flooding in onto the screens in front of him.
Noticing in particular that the vessel Oliver is contacting him from is Heaven's Gate.
He immediately slams down on a button next to him and an alarm can be heard going off.
"Oh for the love of God, really Phoenix" Oliver mumbles.
"Just following orders" he replies.
The king comes rushing into the room and pushes Phoenix out of the way in his swirly chair.
"Hello Nathan" Oliver greets him whilst slouching back into his chair.
"Where the hell have you been?" Nathan asks dramatically.
"Look, I found our lost toy" Oliver replies placing his hands out and looking rather pleased with himself.
"Is it operational?" He asks.
"The power is still working and so are the weapon systems, but it will need some electrical repairs before it is able to take flight again" Oliver explains.
"Also, we found the lost crew" he continues and again taps on the touch screen control panel.
Another screen in front of Nathan and Phoenix display a live feed of hanger bay four and the crew inside.

"That isn't all of them, the majority fled to the mountains" Oliver informs them.
"The one's that are trapped in hanger four, send them home" Nathan instructs him.
"I'll have to get them out first, the doors are sealed shut" Oliver replies.
"Are all the drones still intact?" Nathan asks.
"Yep, Angelus brought us here" Oliver replies observing a screen with the active drones displayed on it.
"Get Heaven's Gate functional again, we're going on the offensive, that's a direct order Oliver" he continues.
"Nathan! You know what this aircraft is capable of, do you really want to set it loose on the battlefield?" Oliver asks sternly.
"Get it operational again, that's an order, Oliver" Nathan instructs him.
"Sure thing, your majesty" Oliver replies bitterly and the screen goes dead.

8 138The Electric Messiah
Volume Two of the Ontogeny series. A time of unprecedented crisis has come. During a mission to the edge of the known world, Brigadier Weyland James discovered that humanity faces a threat so terrible that the sane mind can barely conceive it. Failure to meet this threat would mean the end of human civilisation, mankind thrown back to a life of wandering savagery, easy prey for the true masters of the planet who see humans as mere animals, theirs to use and exploit as they see fit.Hope exists, if all mankind can unite, putting aside their petty differences for the greater good, but the truth is so unbelievable that the Brigadier faces an almost impossible task in convincing the leaders of the human world. His task is made even harder by the fact that several governments have been infiltrated by agents of the enemy, who are using their influence to sow seeds of war and chaos. The Brigadier is not mankind's only hope, though. In Helberion, a small group of scientists, struggling to make a major scientific breakthrough, is being hampered by assassination and sabotage. Is this the work of the enemy of mankind? King Leothan hopes it is, because it would mean that the enemy fears this new science, that it could be used to create a powerful weapon against them. A weapon that could be the Saviour of Mankind. The Electric Messiah... This is the sequel to Ontogeny. If you haven't read that book yet you must read it before you read this book.
