《Curse of Hades in Another World》Volume 01.Chapter 22 - Cruelty of the Elves

When Adonis heard this from the voice, it seemed like it was not the voice of a human. He looked around, and it did not look like a noble’s house, but instead, he was inside a villager’s house.
When he looked clearly, he saw the dead body of a man in front of him. This scared him, and he became quiet immediately. He tried to hide his presence as much as possible, but it was already too late.
Suddenly, he heard another person’s voice; this one also did not sound like a human.
“I think I heard the voice from here. Let’s open the door and check if someone is there.”
After this, one of them started to chant an incantation spell.
“By the Power of the Fire Spirit within me! Flaming Blast!”
As the person said this, the door opened with a powerful blast. In front of him were two tall people with white skin, silver hair, and pointy ears.
These were High Elves like the ones he had just seen. One of them was a man, while the other was a female. When they saw him, they were smiling at him.
“Hehe! It seems like you survived, boy.”
When Adonis heard this, he was trembling because he could see blood drops on their faces.
“Hahaha! Don’t worry. We won’t kill a valuable and healthy boy like you. From your clothes, it looks like you are a noble. A boy like you will sell for a high price.”
When Adonis heard this, he tried to run away. When he reached outside, he saw dead bodies of human villagers everywhere.
This horrified him so much that his legs were trembling and made him remember the scene he had just seen at the Royal Palace.
He saw that the high elves were not following him as he was running away, but the female was chanting an incantation something while pointing his hand towards him.
“With the power of Wind Spirit, which dwell in me! Enchain Body!”
Just as he said this, magical chains appeared around his body, which entangled him to fall to the ground.
The high elves laughed at him as he tried to move his arms and legs to break the chain spell, but it was impossible for a child like him.
“Pfffft! Did you really think we would let you run away so easily?”

Magic was most common among High Elvish, unlike Humans. This was because they did not have incredible physical strength, so they competed with strength.
Among both races, only two houses had incredible physical strength and magical aperture. These houses were some members from the House of Odysseus and all members of the House of Amthir.
This difference was because the Houses of Odysseus’s descendants had extended to more than 400 people, and the House of Amthir’s descendants only had no more than two children. So this was done to balance them.
When Adonis heard this, he looked at them with contempt and anger. This anger was not only because they had captured him but also because they had massacred all the defenseless people in this village.
“Let go of me this instant! I am going to kill all of you.”
When the two high elves heard this, they started laughing.
“O! What an energetic boy. You will sell very nicely.”
The high elvish man picked him up onto his shoulders and carried him to their chariot.
This was not a normal chariot with horses attached to it. It was instead a battle chariot with two black unicorns attached to it.
Black unicorns are aggressive magical beasts tamed by the elves for battle. They are stronger than horses, and they have white horns that can stab the people who attack from the front. Because of this, Black unicorns are used in wars and chariot tournaments.
The black unicorn horns in front of him were socked dark red because of the blood on them. When Adonis was running away earlier, he saw big holes in humans’ dead bodies, which proved that the blood on their horns was humans.
This scared him so much that he pissed his pants. When the high elvish man felt his shoulder a little wet, he knew that the boy had pissed his pants.
After this, he immediately threw the boy at the chariot.
“Ewww! You dirty human. You dare piss on my elegant clothes?”
He got angry and was going to punch him, which scared him. But the female guard knew that if the boy was to be damaged, then his price would go down, so she immediately tried to stop him and calm him down.
“Stop, Brother! If you damage him, his price will go very down, and he will not be worth at least 40 magic shards.”

When he heard this, he stopped and did not punish Adonis. Adonis seeing this gained more confidence and started to move his body relentlessly to escape from the magic chains.
Seeing this made the high elf female very worried. She knew that if the boy were to annoy his brother again, his brother would kill him this time.
Because if that happened, they would not get even a single magic shard and his sister wanted to avoid that situation. So she thought of something and decided to put Adonis to sleep.
“Hey! What are you trying to do? Stop it! I said stop itttt………..”
She forced him to smell the sleeping dust she had in her hand, which made him fall asleep.
After this, they started to travel in the direction of Halrandir in the Kingdom of Mithrandir, which is situated near a swamp.
When they were traveling, they were attacked by a dragon who had attacked them after seeing the human.
The reason was that the dragon felt a sense of kinship to Adonis, who was still sleeping in the chariot.
While they were being attacked, the high elf female decided to do something to get away from the dragon.
She decided to risk her like and to put a spell on the chariot to make the unicorns run faster.
“Using the power of the Wind Spirit in my body, Heavenly Haste.”
When she used this spell, they went away from the dragon’s eyes in a matter of seconds. The spell she used was not a low-level spell of D tier, but it was an A-tier spell.
Because of her using multiple spells not long ago while attacking the village, there was a chance of her death, but she got lucky and survived.
After this, they continued to move in the direction of Halrandir, but because of the speed spell she had cast, they were able to reach Halrandir quickly.
Halrandir is a market in the Moon Elvish Kingdom of Mithrandir. It is not a standard market where things are sold. But instead, it is a slave market.
Here slaves that are taken from war are brought by soldiers and then trained to obey their Masters’ every command.
In the market, there are many slave traders. The prices differ from trader to trader. Many soldiers come with a bulk number of slaves ranging from 12 or 14 slaves at the same time.
Thus, people would commonly sell slaves to the first slave trader they find because they always earn a profit.
But when there is a rare slave like the son of a noble, soldiers would go from one shop to another to find the one willing to give them the best price because a single noble slave is worth 12 times more than a normal one.
So, when the soldiers reached Halrandir. They went shop to shop, finding the best price for him.
After searching for 20 minutes, they finally found one slave shop giving them more than the other shops.
But the high elves were greedy and wanted more money from him.
“Come On! He is no less worth than 200 magic shards?”
When the slave trader heard this, he was astonished and tried to decrease the price immediately.
“No! He looks like 8 years old, so he cannot be worth 200 magic shards. Let me see what I can give you (pretending to calculate using fingers)70,82,85,90. I can give you 90 magic shards for him.”
The slave trader thought that the elvish soldiers would just take the 90 magic shards and leave because it would have already been such a profit for them. But the sibling soldiers’ greed got the better of them. So the female decided to argue with the slave trader.
“You know he was tough to catch. He looks healthy, and from his clothes, he looks like one of those human nobles. At least give us 150 magic shards for him.”
The slave trader finally understood that they were not people you could trick easily, and they were very greedy. So to get it over with, he decided on an amount he knew they would agree with.
“Ah! Fine! I am willing to give 130 magic shards no more, no less.”
When the sibling elves heard this, they seemed pleased with the amount being offered to them, so the female immediately replied while smiling.
“Than the deal is done then. I will wake him up now.”
She dropped some water drops on Adonis’s face, which removed the sleeping dust effect, causing him to wake up.
