《Curse of Hades in Another World》Volume 01.Chapter 18 - Pain of the Truth

Adonis Drakos and Charon Gladwyne were closely listening to the Maid Larisa. After she had finished talking, they finally understood the reason why Grand Duke Phiteus Winstone was acting this way. After hearing Maid Larisa talk so much, Adonis Drakos gets tired and falls asleep.
Grand Duke Phiteus turns his head towards the gates while calmly and without hesitation saying to his brother.
“I am going to leave with my nephew and if you have the courage to stop me. Try it!”
King Feran puts his hand on his brother’s back with strength while saying with confidence.
“Brother! I have already vowed to protect him. So I cannot allow him to leave.”
Grand Duke Phiteus confronts his brother while not looking at his side.
“Hah! What a joke. Do you remember how you vowed to protect Brother Hector in front of our late father? That time you were speaking like a lion while now you are just a scared little cat.”
King Feran starts to get angrier when he hears this. But Phiteus does not stop there.
“Admit it, Brother! Admit that you are the same as father. Like he promised to protect Late Elder Brother Brianus and failed, you failed to protect Brother Hector as well. You both are the same. Even when I talk to you, know it is like I am talking to him.”
When King Feran hears these words, his anger erupts, and he shouts.
“I AM NOTHING LIKE FATHER.”
But Phiteus also hears this. He also shouts in pain.
“SO WHY DID YOU LET OUR BROTHER GET KILLED? WHY BROTHER? ANSWER ME?”
King Feran suddenly becomes silent and let go of his brother from behind.
“WHY DON’T YOU ANSWER ME, BROTHER? CAN YOU TELL ME WHY DID YOU LIED TO US?”
Yet again, no words come from his mouth. Everyone around them is shocked. A few minutes ago, they did not know where Adonis would stay. But now they could see what will happen.
“That’s why I thought. Good Bye, Brother! I am leaving with my nephew, and I hope that you may love your family, unlike ours, that never loved .”

Phiteus tries to walk towards the gate, his brother grabs him from behind again, but this time gently. Then King Feran, with a shallow and pitiful voice, says.
“Wait! At least………….”
When Phiteus get grabbed again from behind, he gets a little annoyed, but because his brother talked with a low voice, he looks back at him while saying.
“Did you not had enough big brot…………”
When he turns back, he does not see a mighty king of a mighty kingdom but a pitiful man in a miserable state with tears bursting from his eyes. Even though Phiteus was his brother, he had never seen this side of him, which surprised Phiteus.
While tears are bursting from King Feran’s eyes, he speaks a few words.
“Atleast……*drip* Take this with you *drop*.”
King Feran handed over something in Phiteus’s hands. Phiteus was confused at this by this. But when he looked at what his brother gave him, he was shocked. He did not understand why his brother gave him this.
“Brother! This is…………… It's the legendary Necklace of Protection created by the god of Forges Hephaestus from the Fires of Tartaros. He gave it as a gift to Hercules for protecting the Dwarfs during the First Great War. Why do you give me this? This is only to be given to a human king.”
King Feran smiles towards his brother and says.
“Give this to Adonis, So that when you all leave, I can be at peace knowing that he is being protected.”
King Feran meant that he was now allowing them to leave and not stop them. When Phiteus heard his brother saying this, some tears fell from his eyes, and he put his left hand on his brother’s shoulder. Then he smiles cheerfully while confidently saying.
“Don’t Worry, Brother! I swear to you that I will protect him, and I will raise him like my own.”
When they hear that the Grand Duke Phiteus will raise Adonis as his son, they are surprised and relieved at the same time. Because they know that if he raises Adonis himself, then he can have a normal childhood.

After saying those words, Phiteus starts moving towards the Palace’s gates. Knight Charon and Maid Larisa, with Adonis in her hands, begin to follow him.
When they reach the Palace gates, they suddenly hear a voice from behind.
“Wait for me!”
When Phiteus hears this, he looks back and is surprised when he sees someone coming at him at high speed. She comes in front of him with baggage in her hands while she lowers her head to greet him.
“Greetings! Your Grace.”
Phiteus, still confused, tries to question her.
“What are you doing, Circe?”
Circe shows a sad expression with cat-like eyes as she answers him.
“It seems like His Grace does not want me to be here.”
Phiteus becomes conflicted because what he had just said caused her to become sad.
“No! I do want you here…… *sweat* I mean, You are welcome everywhere. But why do you have this baggage with you?”
Circe giggles at him while answer.
“Your Grace! It seems like the Queen wants me to go to Palace of Eternity as the 2nd personal maid for His Grace Adonis.”
Circe continues to talk while showing a sad and innocent expression like a little puppy.
“Is it not possible, after all?”
Hearing this, Phiteus blushes and immediately replies.
“No! No! I have no problem with you coming with us.”
Circe smiles happily after hearing this.
“Thank You! Your Grace.”
While they are talking, They suddenly hear someone.
“Your Grace! The carriages have arrived.”
Grand Duke Phiteus looks around sees King Charon with two carriages. The one in the front is his Royal Carriage, the one with whom he had come here, and now even his driver had arrived who he had left in the royal capital.
While behind it, it was another carriage. But this was not so luxurious as the first one even though such carriages are for Marquesses nobles.
While they are talking, the two carriages arrive. One of Grand Duke Phiteus and another carriage made for high ranking nobles.
King Charon and Maid Larisa come towards Grand Duke Phiteus to receive the order. Both of them are surprised when they see the 2nd Head Maid with Phiteus. But they still lower their head towards the Grand Duke. King Charon is not able to control his curiosity, so he asks the Grand Duke.
“Your Grace! Will Maid Circe be coming with us to the Palace of Honor?”
Circe smiles innocently while Phiteus answers.
“Yes. She will be coming with us as the 2nd Personal Maid of my nephew.”
“Larisa! Give my nephew to Circe. She will carry him in the carriage to the Palace.”
Everyone thought that Maid Larisa would be sitting in the Grand Duke’s Carriage with Adonis. But when Phiteus said those words, It meant Circe would be the one to sit with the Grand Duke. But Maid Larisa did not mind that, and she immediately answered him while lowering her head.
“As you wish, Your Grace!”
After this, Maid Larisa hands over Adonis into Maid Circe’s arms. After this, Grand Duke Phiteus orders them.
“Larisa and Charon, both of you will sit in the 2nd carriage while I will sit In the 1st carriage with Circe and My Nephew.”
Both of them lowered their heads before walking towards the 2nd carriage.
“We will do as you say, Your Grace!”
Larisa and Charon go and sit in the 2nd carriage while Grand Duke and Circe, with Adonis in her hands, go and sit in the 1st carriage.
The 1st carriage driver requests permission from the Grand Duke.
“Should I start the carriage, Your Grace?”
Phiteus takes a deep breath of relief and speaks.
“Yes! It is time for us to return home.”
After hearing this order, both the carriages start moving in the direction of the Amphissa city.

She doesn't even understand the language, yet. If you see any maths mistakes or strange story decisions, leave a comment and I will either fix it or consider changing it. This is also, essentially, a first draft. That means I will edit older chapters and nothing is final, including numbers. Any major changes are listed in the changelog below each chapter. Since this is a first draft, the start is noticably bad and inconsistent compared to the more recent chapters so you will have to endure that to get to the good stuff. In the ancient echoes upon it’s great boughs, Yggdrasil holds all the knowledge in existence. Indeed, all of creation swings from its immense branches and leaves. The howls that creep through its cavernous spaces were not caused by the wind. No wind could be powerful enough to shake The Tree, yet it rocked. A great battle raged in its dew drops and amongst its roots. A War for control. For knowledge is power, and power is everything. A furtive glance over her shoulder told the hurried goddess that she was not being followed. That was good. What she had just done would be a great risk. Opportunity not just to see the world, but to change it... to change all of creation. There are many stories to tell upon the Tree of Yggdrasil, where all of creation hangs from its branches. It's very experimental so readers; do note. There are major changes in writing style within the series as I keep testing things out. Of course, that does not mean that the story actually deviates from its intended progress. It just means that your reading experience may fluctuate quite often... Anyways, I hope you enjoy this story. :D p.s. not sure if there will be any sex scene in this novel but the boy starts off as 7... so... long time till we get there. May have lollies though! And Simon answered their call with a single statement that nobody understood "Et super mos absit hoc hodie!" "Yah!" "WWWaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" "AAAlllllaaaaallllaaaaallllaaaa!" "EeEEellllleeeeeelllllleeeeeeuuuuuuu!" I, too, yelled a battle cry at the top of my lungs. I had no idea what Simon had just spouted but from Camilla's giggling, I could guess that Simon thought that spouting nonsense was his way of getting out of the earlier predicament. "I forbid death upon this day," Camilla said. "What?" I answered a bit at a loss. "Ancient Latin," she replied smugly, "He said 'I forbid death upon this day'." I laughed aloud "Then he is gonna be really disappointed in everyone here," Camilla did not reply and instead took a deep breath. I did the same, zoning out everything in my surroundings. The environment became a world of electrical pulses traveling across several networks. I perceived the world through my lightning and sped my heartbeat to inhuman levels. I was present now, at this moment, at this point in time. I could feel the electrifying air saturating my lungs, the electrified ground vibrating at the rhythm of the approaching enemy. Then I took a step forward, everyone followed in tandem. Camilla the first, and then the others. Then I took a second step, and this time everyone followed simultaneously. Third step… Fourth step… Fifth step… Then light jogging… Speeding up… Running … Running faster…. Then suddenly, everyone disappeared into motes of light particles that re-constructed itself hundreds of feet above the horde, dozens of miles away from our initial position. We were literally 'diving' into battle.-------------------------------------------------------------------Despite a rough childhood in the slums, Omari had everything a guy could want - a loving girlfriend, an understanding sister, a wonderful teacher, and his dream job. Still, the scars from his childhood made Omari unable to live a dull life. He dreamed of something greater... something beyond the reaches of what humankind could achieve in the current era.Like always, Omari should have been careful what he wished for. In the year 2046, the World was thrown into chaos as the apocalypse came in the form of massive trees that shot up out of the ground one day. These trees towered over the tallest of buildings and had thicknesses that spanned kilometers at a time. They grew everywhere, in homes, businesses, and cities as they formed a complex network that overlayed the old world. The cause of the apocalypse was unknown, but Omari's workplace was believed to be the origin point of the unfortunate events.Fifteen years after the start of the Apocalypse... after all the pain and suffering... after losing everything he cared about, Omari sent his memories back in time to make sure that the future he lives in, never came to be.Will he be able to uncover the mystery of The Trees? Will he be able to protect all those he has lost? Will he succeed, or will his attempt be washed away by the currents of time? Will Omari be able to learn the truth about 'THE MYTH OF THE WORLD'S TREES'?
