When King Winstone heard this, it was like his heart had stopped moving. Commander Kelton was also shocked when he listened to this, but he was more worried about the king who loved his eldest the most.
“My King! What should we do?”
As Commander Kelton said this, King Winstone rushed on his horse towards the Palace of Eternity without saying anything. He was trying to brace his heart, but tears were falling from his eyes uncontrollably.
“Light gods! I won your wars. Now it is time for you to repay me.”
He, in his subconscious, prayed to his gods for his son’s safety.
But what was done could not be revered as there were rules even for the gods.
As the king moved towards the palace with his horse at full speed, his army followed him from behind.
Back in the palace, The beasts were gruesomely killing the servants.
The growls of the beasts and the screams of the servants being killed were making loud noises. These sounds were heard by the palace guards who rushed to the scene.
When they entered the palace, the beautiful white walls were filled with the color of blood. As they saw this, it filled them with anger, pain, and terror.
Many royal guards’ wives worked in the palace. So when they saw the blood and the beasts eating a woman.
When they say closely, the beast had the face like a wolf and the body like a human. So one of the guards screamed as he ran away.
“WERE………….. WEREWOLVESSSS!!!!”
While a few ran in terror, Tears started to fall from the eyes of those who remained at the scene. Because now they had known what happened to their dear wives.
So in their wrath and pain, they attacked the werewolves even though they already knew that they could not defeat such ferocious beasts.
Many attacked with swords, spears, and arrows, and many attacked with fire torches.
After a few minutes of fighting, the werewolves' hunger suddenly disappeared. But, the soldiers continued to attack because they were in pain and anger.
These werewolves were humans not a long time ago. So even if they suddenly had this much power, they did not care and started to run away into the woods for their life. Lycaon Simon was also among the werewolves who ran for their lives and were successful.
The werewolves did not leave the palace unscattered many were severely injured. But not a single werewolf had died.
The guards saw the werewolves run away and celebrated their victory of scaring away the beasts. Some felt empty, and many of them were still sad in their hearts because they had lost their close family members, and their lives would never be the same.

But because they had attacked the werewolves, who were ferocious beasts, they had survived. For that, they were grateful and happy.
Those who ran in fear went to the city guards to tell them what horror sight and the ferocious beasts they had just seen, and they needed help to defeat it.
As this was happening, the king and his army had reached the Palace of Eternity’s gates. They saw that the gates were wild open, and there were no guards to be seen.
He left his horse and started to move on foot to enter the palace. The king was angry, pitiful, and sorrowful. Lucas and King Winstone entered the palace together. King Winstone suddenly ordered Lucas to answer his question.
“Where is my son?”
Lucas Eburnus immediately replied without hesitating while lowering his head.
“My King! His Highness Brianus Winstone is in the first room of the inner palace.”
King Winstone, at full speed, started moving towards the inner palace.
They started to see the beast claws mark and blood on the wall in the path towards the inner palace.
King Winstone's worry about his son grew, and he increased more of his speed using sprint. The Royal Magician Daedalus was also with the king, but all this happened, yet he said nothing.
He increased the speed of all the soldiers so that they could follow King Winstone easily.
When they started to get deeper, they began to see humans' bones, half-eaten corpses of females, and many killed like savages.
But not a single soldier was in terror or ran away. Because they had fought a Great War just some weeks ago, they had won the war because of their hero. That hero was right now moving forward in front of them.
When they reached the inner palace, they met the palace guards. One of the palace soldiers who was guarding while the other were resting asked when they arrived there.
“Halt! Who goes there?”
Lucas Eburnus came forward and immediately said.
“I am the guard of His Highness Brianus Winstone, and I came here with King Winstone.”
After Lucas said this, the king came closer to the guard. The guard immediately recognized the imperial royal family symbol on King Winstone’s armor.
The king’s armor was made of Titanium, and it had a lightning symbol of it, which described the Descendents of Zeus.
The guard bowed before King Winstone falling on his feet. Tears were falls from his eyes as he spoke.
“My King! You have come!.”
King Winstone was already restless after hearing the news that the palace has been attacked, so he said immediately.
“What has happened here?”
The guard replied, trying hard to hold his emotion.

“My King! We heard cries and screams from the inner palace. So, we rushed towards the palace. In the palace, like you, we also saw the bodies eaten half of human and skeleton bones as we went further into the palace. Some of us were scared after seeing this, but no one ran away until we entered the inner palace. What we saw there was a horrible sight *drip* a beast……… with the head of a wolf and the body of a human *shiver*, it was a…….. werewolf. It was eating a maid alive as she cried out for help. Seeing this, some ran in terror, and the ones remaining here tried to stop the werewolf. But when we attacked the werewolf, it howled, and more than eight werewolves were gathered around it for help. We fought them with all our strength, and they killed many of us. We thought that we would all die today. But suddenly, all of these beasts started to run away towards the wood. Even though only some of them were injured, now that his Majesty is here, it may be because they felt his Majesty’s presence and ran away.”
All of the palace guards fell on their heads as they praised their king for his coming.
“We thank his majesty for coming here and saving us.”
Even though King Winstone was a very kind and just ruler, he was also a father. He, in fact, came more reason being for his son. But if his son was in the royal capital and the Palace of Eternity was attacked, King Winstone would help them.
But right now, he was only there to see his son. So he immediately asked the guard.
“Have you seen my son? Is here alive? Did something happen to him?”
The palace guards now knew that the king also had the feeling of a father. So, they did not hate him for it. All of them had entered the inner palace not a while ago when they were attacked. So they saw no one else.
“My King! We dare not lie because we have not seen Prince Brianus.”
King Winstone immediately said something before sprinting towards the first room of the inner palace.
“Than, He must still be in the room.”
When King Winstone entered the room, he called for his son without thinking.
“Dear Son, are you here? Your father has been anxious ever since he heard about the attack.”
King Winstone moved towards the bed, where he saw bloody sheets. He immediately removed them and saw a bloody dagger in his son’s heart.
He started to weep and made miserable loud sounds.
“My……….. My Son……….. What did they do to you? How could he…………. How could he betray us like this?
King Winstone had immediately recognized the dagger. It was the dagger that he gave to his friend Grand Duke Lucas Eburnus.
“Even the gods have betrayed my trust. When I had left, I left all of you in their protection. Yet they only act after the deed is done. Our family had done so much for them, yet they dare not show us a little kindness. You were only at the start of your life. You had so much to do in the future. Yet the gods dare not care, and I have suffered what I don’t have the heart to suffer. We are indeed the toys in the eyes of gods.”
After he said this, someone entered the room. It was Commander Kelton.
As he saw the dagger in the young prince’s heart, he fell on his knees and cried so hard that blood started pouring from his eyes. He tried to saw some words.
“May, a father……. never suffer…….. the loss of his own son .”
King Winstone was already angry after the friend he had thought dearly of killed his son. So he angry asked Kelton.
“Speak! Why have you come here.”
Commander Kelton felt the power of the king for the first time, and he answered while trembling.
“My king…….. The other two guards of late Prince Brianus are here.”
King Winstone, with his wrath and fury, exited the room and found the prince’s guards bowing before him and begging for their life.
“My King! We…….we beg for forgiveness.”
King Winstone angrily replied.
“You ask for forgiveness while there is a diamond dagger in his heart.”
The ones begging for their lives also included Lucas Eburnus. Because he even knew that it was his fault too. When the guards heard this, they knew that Grand Duke Lycaon Simon had betrayed King Winstone, and they were the cause of his son’s death.
“My King! We have done something unforgivable, yet we………”
King Winstone had already reached his limit. He could forgive many things but never this.
“O Great Fire of Gaia, BURN!!!”
As he said this, flame erupted beneath the prince’s guard.
“Oh, gods! It burns ahhhhhhhhhh!”
In a few minutes, all of them had burned to a crisp.
Everyone was horrified as they had just seen the wrath from someone of House of Odysseus for the first time.
