Right after 400 years of the creations came into being, the gods were at each other throats, divided into three factions. Not long after a year, the light gods and the dark gods were preparing for war. At that time, the ruler of the Azlek Kingdom was King Heracles.

King Heracles was the fourth human king of Azlek Kingdom. He was a direct descendent of Odysseus. At first, it was thought that his elder brother would become king.

But he was recommended by his elder brother Glaucus to become king because of his intelligence and bravery. His elder brother told him that he was better suited to become king.

He first rejected it, thinking it would be unfair. Still, after his father, King Epaphus, wished him to become king as his dying wish for his kingdom and the human race’s survival.

On his father’s death bed, Heracles accepted his father’s dying wish and became the next king. Only after a few years the Great War Begin. It was a bloody battle that the dark races had started.

They attacked all light and unbound races simultaneously, thinking that this momentum will help them archive victory.

But all of it backfired When King Heracles successfully defended the light kingdoms from the dark races. Because the House of Odysseus was merciful, King Heracles, he also helped the unbound races ignoring the fact that the light gods hate the unbound races and their god.

After he had helped the unbound races defend its land, they knew that the House of Odysseus would be punished for doing this.

Thus, to make his sacrifice worth, they promised something that should have been saying. They gave him a vow to him, saying that they will follow his descendants’ orders once in a Great War if his descendants ever needed his help.

After many bloody battles, In the last moments of the First Great War, the battle between King Hercules and King Aeguil, the son of King Amthir, ended in a tie. Thus, The First Great War had ended.

King Hercules was praised by both the light races and many of the unbound races. After the war, King Hercules married a woman from another race who later became the Queen.

In The Throne Room, Commander Perseus knew that King Feran would give an order related to the war, but he did not expect the king to act this way. He had understood that the king wanted the light races, but he had never imagined him to call their other allies in the next Great War.

He was a commander who had still not taken part in a big battle. Like other humans, he thought of the Ancient’s vow as a means of the human’s last stand against the dark races.

But when the king had ordered him to call on their allies. He suspected that the king meant the unbound races too. But he did not want to act upon his suspicions, so he tries to confirm this.

“Your Highness! Should I send the envoys to the light kingdoms?”

King Feran had just ordered him to send the envoys to the light kingdoms and their other allies. So when he heard Perseus say this, he was getting annoyed. By saying this, it seemed like the Commander wants to mean that the king made a mistake in his decision.

But he speaks with calmness even though in his heart he was angry.

“COMMANDER! You are mistaken. I meant all the light races and our Ancient allies.”

It was as the Perseus had feared, but his ears could not have heard false twice. He knows that a war will begin if this happens, which will be bloodier than any other Great War since the beginning of time. So even if he fears insulting the king, he tries to make the king reconsider.

“Your Highness! Please Forgive me for my bluntness, But would you please elaborate on which allies do you mean?”

King Feran was already anxious, not able to see his children for no reason. He was trying very hard to control his emotion. Still, when Commander Perseus started to waste his time and defy his direct order, he started to lose this control.

Still, He cannot show his anger because his wife, the Queen, is sitting next to him. If he acts with anger, then his wife will no longer forgive him. So, he tries hard to act with calmness.

“Commander! Then, let me elaborate. What I meant by our allies were the Vampires from the Kingdom of Celethir, Satyr from the Kingdom of Daenys, Dryads from the Forest of Revenna, Spirits from the Forest of Galos, Pixies from the Forest of Shandalar, and with the addition of all the light races. Now that I have elaborated, it is time for you to leave and to send our envoys to them. I want to know our situation in the upcoming war as soon as possible.”

Commander Perseus is surprised by the king’s answer even though he suspected this the first time the king ordered him.

“My King, But……. All the races you have named are Unbound races. These races worship Unbound gods that mean they cannot help us because they have given their word to their gods that they will not be aggressive in the Great Wars.”

King Feran bursts out with anger and wrath as he sees that Commander Perseus is trying to disobey him.

“YOU DARE TRY TO TAKE ME FOR A FOOL!!! Everyone knows the vow they made to my ancestor King Hercules. He even angered the light gods when he helped them. He had no reason to help them, yet he did out of his kindness. It was not us who wanted something in return from them, but it was they who insisted and gave us their vow. This vow was their promise to help us when we call them to arms in a Great War. The time has come to start a war to end all Great Wars. The Light races can see that the House of Odysseus is getting weaker and weaker. We must take a stand now if we are to remain. If we do not show our strength and act now, then even the light races will turn against us.”

Commander Perseus becomes confused after hearing this. He had always thought that the light races were our friends, so how could they turn against us when their gods’ leader is our god.

“My King, How can the light races betray us when we are in the same faction, and their gods’ leader is non-other than Zeus, who is our god.

King Feran is still surprised that Commander Perseus is so innocent that he does not realize what is happening.

“Do you really think the loss of power in our bloodline is the work of nature?”

Commander Perseus immediately understands what the king meant when he uttered those words. He now understood that he should not trust the gods but only trust his king, so he accepts the order and becomes ashamed that he did not understand the king’s intent the first time. So he bows before the king to show remorse.

“My King! I have acted foolishly and have disobeyed your order even though I did not understand Your Highness’ intent the first time. I should have known because I am the sole Commander of the royal armies. I did not think that our kind was being played with. For my acts of foolishness, I request that you punish me so that I cannot make such a misunderstanding again.”

King Feran and Commander Perseus have been friends since childhood, but this is the first time that Commander Perseus has misunderstood the king.

King Feran is a very kind person at heart. So he forgives the Commander for his lack of understanding of the gods.

“Commander Perseus! We have been friends since we did not know how to speak. So I know that not knowing what the gods do is not your fault. Don’t Worry! I forgive you. If I punish you for this, then that will make me a cruel man and my ancestors a cruel kind. So go now and do what I have ordered.”

Hearing this, Queen Medea starts smiling towards the king with a sense of honor, delight, and pride. So she speaks in a low voice manner so that only the king can hear.

“My Highness! I never knew that you could be so merciful. As your wife, I am proud, and it would not be fair of me If I were to still punish you after this.”

Commander Perseus regrets not understanding the king and being ignorant towards the gods. So he promises himself that he would not bring shame to the king like this again being his royal commander.

After that, only a few moments pass that the head maid arrives in the throne room. While entering the throne room, she sees that the Commander is leaving with a sad and regretful face.

The head maid is worried about the Commander because of his sad expression, so she quickly moves towards the king and Queen’s throne to find out why he looks sad.

But she is surprised when she sees that the king and Queen are smiling and laughing while talking to each other, which makes her understand that the Commander must have done something wrong. He is regretful of it because he was making such a guilty face. She knows this because she took care of them both since their birth.

“Your Majesty! I came barring news.”

King Feran recognizes the maid, but he does not understand why she came to the throne room at this time.

“Tell Me, Melia! What is the news that you came to deliver to the throne room, personally?”

Maid Melia had just come from the kitchen where she heard from the maids that the grand duke, the princess, and the prince have wakened up.

“Your Majesty! I know that you have been anxious to see your children since arriving here yesterday. So I have come here to tell you that the royal children are awake, and they are right now in the Primary Quarters.”
