《The Book Of Cain》Chapter 17

Cain cleaned his daggers on the leather vest of his closest victim before sliding them back into their sheath. The piles of loot glowing around him were completely ignored, these hunters weren't high enough level to even check their stashes.
----------------------------------
*Level up!
You have reached level 17
Stat Bonus:
+2 speed +1 attack speed +1 Agility +1 Dexterity +1 Stamina
----------------------------------
Warning!
You have reached maximum negative favour (-10,000). All factions have listed you as kill on site. The bounties placed on you by Kings and the God of Light have increased by a multiplier of 10. When you die you will respawn in the wastelands.
-----------------------------------
Maximum negative favour, at least that's something new. It will have to bring Daeva to me, how long has it been since I last saw him, since the horror in that town? Weeks? Months? Time gets lost in these woods, in the repetitive routine of killing followers of light attempting to collect the bounties placed upon me. I haven't had a quest in months, I have endless supplies and upgraded equipment from all the people i've sent back to their respawns. No need to train my resource skills as I have unlimited resources. Is this better than my jail cell in the real world? Despised by all and not one step closer to power or fame. I just want to end this constant suffering.
"Cain. I've been watching you. You never fail to impress me."
The black cloud of Daeva appeared beside Cain, his aura blacking out the forest around him.
"You're larger than the last time i saw you Daeva..."
"And it's all thanks to you Cain! You're infamous! You're the demon stalking the woods, most want to kill you, some want to be you! My number of followers has grown immensely since your dance through these woods, and with each follower, my power grows! And now you have reached an achievement that few before you have. That is why I have come to reward you."

"Anything is better than this, do you have an upgrade for my cloak to hide my favour? I want to enter cities again, I want to be normal. I want to quest!"
"I have something better, and I will return with your quests soon. Keep doing what you're doing."
Daeva disappeared and the forest returned to normal, he didn't realise just how drastic the change was as the sounds of nature and smell of the dead bandits and decaying leaves filled his senses again, the world he had become so accustomed to these past months rushing back to him as if it were a whole new experience.
-------------------------------
New Attributes unlocked!
You are one of the first 1000 players to reach maximum negative favour! Rage pulses through your veins and you don't try to hide it.
The pain and anger you feel on the inside will now be reflected too the world! Everyone will fear you!
*Personal appearance has been updated
*Status bar appearance has been updated
--------------------------------
What the hell? This doesn't sound like a reward? What has he done to me now?
Looking down at his arms he instantly regretted wishing for Daeva, his physique had changed as he leveled and improved his dagger skills through killing other players, his body overlapped with tense muscle and veins spiderwebbed across his arms and shoulders. Veins that now pulsed with a red glow and seemed to slowly leak black fog. Looking into a nearby puddle he realized his eyes were the same, a tainting amber glow like the alligators reflecting in the swamp under torchlight. His status bar a bold crimson red shining stronger than the neon lights in the video arcade. He couldn't be missed or ignored now, he was a beacon of death, rage, and distruction. Daeva had turned him into a target incapable of hiding, negating the only benefits of Daeva's power, the power to be invisible in turmoil. The power to sneak through cities undetected. The power to fit in.

Raegn hoped to be written into legend alongside the stories that inspired him since childhood, yet the scouting skirmishes and small battles that have been fought since the time of his forefathers offer little chance at glory. When the Void wakes once more the Realm questions if the first war was ever really won…and if they might be saved again. Raegn is left searching for purpose and must navigate through a world teetering on the brink of extinction. Dire times create the greatest heroes, but tales that stand the test of time are written twice - in blood before ink.Divinity is a fantasy series about Raegn Edelgard, a young man who must make his way through a world that is struggling to realize it is, for the second time in its history, teetering on the brink of extinction.
