《First of The Author's Lore: Fatherly Dragon》Chapter 6

When the sun had risen over the horizon, I quietly sighed as I realized I really didn't get at least a wink of sleep.
I stared at my stepsister oggling Fier as her husband stuffed things into a bag that seemed to have been embedded with Dimensional Space magic seeing as how he kept stuffing so much food into the small bag. Who's gonna eat all of that...?
I'm hoping the weight of all that stays in the dimensional space too.
"Where do you plan on going brother?" Maria asked as Fier giggled in her arms.
"I might as well just live in the capital. It's only a few flaps and a boat away anyways." I said as I retrieved Fier from her, to which Maria groaned over. I didn't need the kid to be too attached to a mother who already had too many children to take care of.
"So you're telling me you blew up hundreds of towns but can't fly all the way to the main island of Adarin?" Maria asked as she sulked over me taking Fier away from her arms.
"Brother, I will never understand how you have so much magic power yet hardly any physical power." She said with the tiniest bit of nostalgia in her tone.
After a few quiet moments, Albert handed over the bag, which was thankfully light.
I gazed at Aria who seemed to be quite upset that I was leaving. Sorry kiddo, but I don't want my ears to bleed every single day.
I turned towards the door when I felt tiny arms grab me by the leg.
"Uncle... You better visit us. Okay...?" I looked down to see a pouting Aria staring at me. Why did she look like she was about to cry?

"... Sure thing." I said as I patted her head.
"Pinky promise?" She asked as she extended her pinky finger. What a kid.
I linked my own pinky finger with hers as her face broke into her usual smile once more.
"Have a safe trip, brother." Maria said as she took Aria in her arms.
"Be safe... sis." I said before walking out of the door.
Only to be hugged from the back by the woman.
"You finally called me 'sis'." She said, and I swear I could feel a huge smile form on her lips.
"Woman, I'm gonna miss my boat if you keep delaying my leave." I said as I struggled to pulled myself away from her. Why is this woman so strong-
"Alright alright, remember to change Fier's diapers, okay brother?" She reminded me as she pat my back.
"I got it I got it so let me go already." I said as I walked out of the house, shutting the door behind me.
I walked down the path towards the town's exit and made my way towards the forest before morphing into a dragon once more.
This is getting quite tiring. When I reach the capital I'm going to stop morphing.
Why would I want to morph anyway?
~~~~
I quickly flied towards the port while panting from flapping my wings too much.
I am absolutely quitting on flying when I reach the darn capital.
I slightly tripped when I abruptly morphed as I landed on the ground and ran towards the boat.
Only for the boat to take off at that exact moment.
...You've gotta be kidding me. I actually missed the damn boat.
I silently stared at the stupid boat floating away into the distance as I stood there, a human baby clutched in one of my arms and a bag threatening to slide off my shoulder.
"DAMN YOU MERLIN!" I screamed in annoyance as I stomped my foot on the ground.
I MEAN, OUT OF EVERYTHING THAT COULD POSSIBLY HAPPEN, I HAD TO MISS THE BOAT.
WHICH MEANS I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE MIDNIGHT BOAT WHICH IS 12 HOURS AWAY.
SERIOUSLY?!
Creator... Why did you making my life so complicated?
I just wanted to live in the capital with Fier, live an uneventful life until I die of old age.
Maybe scare off a few of Fier's future suitors while I'm at it.
But so far... I got pee'd on by Fier, I was about to become a victim to having my organs sold in the black market with Fier becoming a test subject, my ears bled, I've moved around too much, I missed the boat...
It hasn't even been a week since I've met this fetus and yet I already feel so damn exhausted.
I sighed as I walked over to the now empty waiting area, dropping my bag on the table as I transferred Fier into my other arm, stretching my other arm while groaning from the pain.
As Fier started wailing, I quickly fished for the uh... baby bottle, and gave it to her.
After doing so, I looked at the congents of the bag again, feeling like I had seen something I didn't expect to be there.
Turns out, there were a few books in the bag. Must be that woman's doing. But since we don't really have anything better to do...
I fished out one of the books and stared at the title.
[A romantic guide to dragon procreation]
"What the..." I blinked several times. The title didn't change.
That mad woman... She shoved a smut novel in my bag.
※Meanwhile, in the Ante household...
As Maria Ante entered her study, she noticed a few books missing.
To be more specific, a few books from the 18+ category.
"Albert! Were you by any chance reading my books?" Maria called out as Albert rushed over towards the door to her study.
"Your books? I'm pretty sure both of us know I don't read books darling." He said as he wiped his hands on his apron.
"Oh mommy that was me! I put some of your books into uncle's bag so he won't get bored on his travels!" Aria said as she barged into the study with the most innocent smile on her face.
As Maria smiled and took the child in her arms, she silently apologized to the poor boy who had become a victim to reading something so degenerate.
The Long and Exciting Life of Kreet the Kobold (Life 2)
Kreet was originally a D&D character. Life 1 was essentially her backstory. Life 2 picks up just after the events of the D&D campaign in the Underdark. At first you won't recognize the characters, but bear with it for a couple chapters and the few important points will be revealed. Also I stole a player's character (with his permission!) in the form of Sigmundurr. Also, unlike Life 1, I'll be posting this slowly over time. Right now I'm writing around chapter 20 and I suspect I'm only halfway. Tone may be a little different. ( Cover art by KuroNeko I'm pretty sure!)
The Dog with a Chair
As of now, this story is dropped. It was an excellent learning experience, but the quality suffered too much from me trying new things for me to continue in good concience. Thanks to anyone that read it. I'm leaving this story up as a record of my first ever attempt at publishing something I've wrote. To any new writers out there, remember that even if the stuff you write is trash, you can still learn a lot from writing it. - November 17th 2020 Guy gets involved in advocacy for civil engineering projects, then gets pulled into an interdimensional war. Third person with a focus on one main character (Stanley) with the occasional point of view from another character important to story progression. Writing style tends to shift early on as I figure out how to write (this is my first book). Still learning, hoping to improve. Current style choice is to have a focus on character dialogue/actions with interspersed internal monologue in italics. No current end is set for the story, with the primary goal of this project being to learn to express myself in a written format. Storyline is kept as consistent as practical while covering things I find interesting. Governmental systems are mentioned, but not explained in extreme detail. Sci fi elements are used to reinforce and guide plot progression as I'm able. Personal goals belonging to each character are in the process of being developed, with the hope that they will support or oppose each other in interesting ways later on. Hope you enjoy :)
