《Neb, just a Nobody》Chapter 3: The Gang

As Neb magically creates the figure of Gehirn, with the instructions of the old man Senex, he was quite surprised that Gehirn was wearing a lab coat that is so intricate that the part of the stone at the hem of her coat was almost transparent.
It took him five hours to create the complete figure of the lady, and old man Senex immediately placed her on the riverbank, disappeared for a moment, then appeared again placing a lot of violet flowers on the feet of Gehirn’s statue and wept.
“My beloved Gehirn, I got to see you again for a long time. Please grace us with your presence so that I can hug and kiss you!” Old man Senex shouts as he seemingly conjures a spell, then a loud boom was heard from the sky as a bolt of lightning struck the statue the old man was touching.
“Why do you weep my love? It has been a long time but I would still listen to your commands” an enchanting voice was heard from the statue, its accent was not common but still, it was lovely.
“I- I missed you, dear, I was very lonely for a long time, but I am happy now that I can see you all again.” The statue of old man Senex seemingly wept as he hugs the now moving statue of Gehirn.
“Is this the person who helped you recreate, my statue?” Asked Gehirn, and looked at Neb full of curiosity.
“Yes, he helped us” shortly answered by Senex as he continuously hugs Gehirn.
“What is your name young man?” asks Gehirn, This time it was Neb’s turn to answer.
“I am Neb, senior Gehirn, jus a nobody wandering these woods.” Neb politely answered the goddess before his eyes, laughing at the scene of old man Senex intimately hugging the goddess, anyways he said it was his wife so Neb guessed it was okay.

“So what benefits did my husband promised you? Young man” Gehirn asked Neb again, inquiring about the rewards that the young man might receive from the old man and his wives.
“Umm Senior did not specify what rewards I could get, but he said that he would not be stingy about it, and I might receive a small blessing from you and the other seniors once the statues are finished.” Neb truthfully answered, almost leaving no details about the agreement between him and old man Senex.
Gehirn looked at his husband suspiciously, wondering what can he provide the young man in front of them. She knew that his husband had not stashed secret treasures, so the only thing they could provide to this young man is knowledge.
“Young man, to tell you the truth, my husband is very poor, and I am just a construct created from stone. We cannot give you treasures that can help you.” Gehirn revealed that they were poor at all so they cannot provide treasures to the young man.
“No worries senior, I’m just playing around, familiarizing myself with the world” Neb obviously wasn’t taken aback by what Gehirn said, and just smiled he sit on the bench that the old man was lying down one earlier. Looking at the pair of lovers while his consciousness was slowly fading into nothingness.
“You have been logged out, due to mental exhaustion. Please take care of yourself and sleep for several hours!” The system’s Ai’s voice echoed again in Nebs mind as he was thrown again into a deep sleep, but this time things were a little bit messy as he felt like floating through the void of his consciousness.
A whole day passed but Neb was still sleeping, not so comfortable as he was wearing something that looks like it might explode any minute, but when the sun was above one’s head the next day, he started to wake up. He also felt a lot better after sleeping for a long time, although he felt very hungry for not eating for a day, clearly, the game somehow improved his mind’s capacity.

Immediately he stretched his lanky body as he crawls towards his mini-refrigerator, but to his terror, it was already empty, except for his pitcher filled with freezingly cold water. Parched and hungry he poured the contents of the pitcher down his throat as he takes gigantic gulps to quench his thirst. After drinking half of the liquid of the pitcher he put on his sweater and ran outside.
He was living in a small cluster of two-story buildings in a small corner of the city. It was like an area where people are living peacefully and is well maintained by a gang. The gang members are also children of locals so people who live in the area almost knew about each other.
“Yo Neb! You haven’t gone out of your room for three days!” one of the gang members that was sitting in a corner called out to Neb, who was across the street. It was Veran, one of the kids that used to play with Neb.
“Ah! It was three days already? I was just playing the new Virtual Dive game. What about you guys?” Neb spoke casually as he crosses the street towards the gang. The group sitting on the corner was Neb’s childhood friends that joined the local gang.
“You’ve been playing too Neb? Knowing you, you might be already strong haha” Veran laughed with the gang, as he places his arms around his girlfriend.
“Yeah! Neb carry us Haha!” a chubby guy beside Veran joined the conversation, he was Gyo, the son of a local japanese restaurant, he was like the cook of the group that could cook anything that was provided to him.
“Oh, you guys also play? Haha I’ve been out cold because of something called Mana Depletion, so I’m still stuck in the woods” Neb laughed with the gang, telling them he was still lost.
“Haha it’s the same for all of us, we’re still lost” Veran being the leader-like figure of the group answered, but the others were equally listening to the conversation and are ready to tell their pieces.
“The game is kinda nonsense, dropping people in the middle of nowhere, without the interfaces that the older games had!” a guy leaning on the wall interjected, he was called Nag because he was always nagging and complaining about stuff, but his real name is Nicole.
“Stop complaining! You little bitch, you’re just a noob who can’t kill a single mob or tell direction!” It was a female voice that joined, it was the big-sister figure of the gang, her name was Binca. She was the tomboyish fit lady that stops the gang from doing some serious shit.
“Shut up Fucker!” Nicole pulled the middle finger to Binca as he smiled creepily.
“Haha the two are at it again, So Neb where are you going?” Veran asked while rubbing his girlfriend’s hair playfully.
“I’m going to Gyo’s place actually, to eat, I have not eaten for a whole day,” Neb answered then rubbed his stomach a little. He should’ve arrived at the restaurant if the gang did not call him out.
“Come on, let’s make Gyo cook for us instead, Babe can we eat in your place? Don’t worry we’ll buy ingredients and stuff,” Veran Said and went to ask his girl to let the group eat at her place. His girl was very cute and was a little bit well off, so her place was a little bit larger than the rest of the group, Her name is Viviane, and she was the belle of the group.
“Yeah, but I want hand-made noodles” Viviane laughed slyly.

My class [Death Knight] is just barely legal...
Ever since meeting his uncle, Arthur has pushed himself daily to achieve an arbitrary goal. He trained like nobody else did, longer than anybody else could. He neglected his personal relationships to pursue something he didn't even understand, in hindsight. When the time came for his class awakening ritual, he was ready. He was ready to receive a powerful starting class and to break free from his boring lifestyle. Well, you know what they say, "Be careful what you wish for, lest your wish be granted." Arthur was assigned the death knight class, which is just barely, technically, maybe legal. With it, he learns about what drove him to such simple minded ambition in the first place: his affinity. Now, he's faced with a dilemma: will he embrace it, or reject it? 'My class [Death Knight] is just barely legal' is a laid back story with occasional tension, that describes Arthur, a young man, exploring the world, the system and his own mental health as he pursues his ambitions. This story is the first serious fiction I ever wrote, so while criticism is definitely welcomed, keep it polite. I'm going to rewrite the first few chapters at some point, since they're not as good as my later ones, but I'm focusing on my current chapters first. I don't have time to do both yet, since I'm also in the middle of my exams. What to expect from this story: -Litrpg elements -A chaotic good aligned protagonist (that starts off as a neutral good protagonist) -(Hopefully) interesting characters. What not to expect from this story: -Grimdark elements -Harem -An enslaved protagonist. (I mention this due to the background of the mc's class) Release schedule: 1 chapter every other day, 2pm European time (14:00) Join the discord here: https://discord.gg/YHZFB4HMHD

Macabre Mim
*Note: This story is on hiatus. I intend to pick it up again, but the mood of my life has shifted for the time being and I'm going to be working on a side project for a bit.* What would you give to live the life of your dreams? What kind of deal would you make? And when you were there, forced to stare your dreams in the eye and live them every day, how long would it be... before they broke you? Author's note: This is my first excursion outside the realm of villain fan fiction and I welcome feedback. The thing I've loved most about RRL so far is the potential for writing to be an interactive experience with excited readers. That said, also, the primary genre this is intended for is the blossoming realm of LitRPG. Namely, a slice of life tale in the manner of Grimgar or Re:Zero. So, likewise, I don't expect there will ever be a clear beginning-middle-and-end type of pattern to this story. It will likewise always be a bit more of a reactionary, exploratory novel into realms unknown - much like the 1800 travel-novel theme used by Jules Verne. Or, at least, that is my ambition.
