Rikishi walked up to the girls.
“So, which one of you is the driver?” Rikishi asked.
Kanami walked up to him.
“I am, why’d you ask?” Kanami replied.
“Eh?~ You’re the best they said.” Rikishi said, grinning.
“Yes, I am the best… You might you be?” Kanami said.
“I am glad you asked… Because my name is Rikishi, the best driver there is-”
The girl started to laugh.
“Rikishi, eh? We’ll, don’t forget the name that will beat you, Kanami.” Kanami said, grinning.
“You? Me? Don’t make me laugh.” Rikishi said.
“Oh we’ll see...” Yanami said, grinning.
Tado let out a sigh.
“Rikishi is already picking fights, eh?” Tado said, smiling.
“Yeah, just how we remember him back at the Orphanage.” Nokado replied.
“Oi! Are we leaving?!” Rikishi shouted.
“Yeah! Get the rover ready!” Takumi shouted back.
“Yosh! I have someone here who wants to be teached a lesson or two about driving-” Rikishi said, poking Kanami on the top of her head.
“S- Shut up! I’ll show you my driving skills...” Kanami replied, walking up to him.
Rikishi grinned.
“Oh really?” Rikishi asked.
“Yes, really.” Kanami replied, grinning.
Yuno let out a sigh.
“Those two have exact the same personality.” Yuno said.
“For the very first time, I agree with you.” Ukato replied.
Tado looked at everyone, who was already talking with each other.
We’re they really trying to kill us?
Tado was confused… Something felt odd…
He looked at the Seppuku clan.
He, once again, made eye contact with Uchiko.
The girl smiled and waved her hand.
Tado’s eyes lightened up, as he quickly looked away.
This time he turned to Nokado.
Nokado had a grin on his face.
“W- What is so funny?” Tado asked.
Nokado’s griin turned into a more smug-like smile.
“Ohh? I wonder~” Nokado said.
Tado’s eyes widened up.
“O- Oi… Don’t get any weird ideas.” Tado said.
“Wierd ideas? What are you talking about?” Nokado said, grinning.
Tado took a deep breath, as he raised both his hand.
“I mean...” Tado mumbled.

He suddenly smacked both Nokado’s cheeks with his hand.
“... The ones I just smacked out of your head.” Tado said, smiling.
“O- Oi! Don’t hit me like that!” Nokado said.
Tado took off his surgical mask, showing his tongue.
“Come make me, No-baka-do.*” Tado said, running away.
(*Baka means ‘Idiot’ In Japanese.)
“Y- You son of a-” Nokado said, charging after him.
Charlotte walked up to Uchiko.
“Those really like to mock each other, don’t they?” Charlotte said, laughing.
“Yeah, they do.” Uchiko said.
“I can’t believe those have a bounty of six million on their head.” Charlotte said.
“You’re right, I feel like a teacher with these kids around me.” Kimoto said, walking up to them.
“Well, nothing we can do about it… They just happen to be like that.” Uchiko said, shrugging.
Takumi and Kuruka walked out of the room.
“Yosh! The wound is healed and everyone is ready!” Takumi said.
Kuruka smacked him on his head.
“Not healed, patched, idiot… It’ll still hurt if you get hit on that spot.” Kuruka said.
“And we can’t leave yet...” Kuruka followed up.
Kuruka pulled something out of his back pocket.
“What is that?” Takumi asked.
“A walkie talkie, so we will be able to respond to each other.” Kuruka said.
Kuruka stood in front of the exit and handed them out to everyone who walked out. He handed the last one to Takumi.
Takumi instantly realized something…
Kuruka’s hands… Were shaking…
“Oi, grab it already- ?” Kuruka stopped talking, as Takumi grabbed his hand.
Kuruka looked up.
“Kuruka...” Takumi mumbled.
“... Are you- ”
Kuruka pushed his hand and threw the walkie talkie to Takumi. Takumi caught it.
“I...” Kuruka mumbled.
“... I don’t want to hold you guys back, so I have no choice.” Kuruka said.
“Listen, if you don’t want to come you can stay at the car.” Takumi replied.
Kuruka smirked, as he turned his back to him.
“No way… I have decided to stay with you...” Kuruka said.
The smirk on his face slowly turned into a frown.

“... I want to be useful… ” Kuruka mumbled.
“... I know I am weak, but we all get stronger on the brink of death-”
“What are you talking about?” Takumi said.
“No one is going to the brink of death...” Takumi said.
Kuruka’s eyes widened up, as he turned.
“W- What?” Kuruka said.
“I said… No one is gonna die.” Takumi replied.
“Not even one of the Seppuku clan members… I will protect you all...” Takumi said.
Takumi looked down.
“... If one of you dies...” Takumi mumbled.
“... I will never forgive myself.” Takumi said.
Kuruka walked up to him, and placed his hands onto Takumi’s shoulders.
Takumi looked up.
“You’re right… No one is going to die.” Kuruka said, smiling.
Takumi’s eyes lightened up.
“Hey! Kuruka, Takumi, stop the chatting and get over here!” Rikishi shouted.
“W- We’re coming!” Kuruka said, as he let go of his shoulders and grabbed his arm.
Takumi was shocked...
He was trying to cheer me up…
But he turned the tables on me…
Kuruka opened the door, and Takumi sat down. Takumi climbed to the top of the roof from inside and Kuruka took his place. Suddenly the Seppuku clans van stopt next to their rover-
The window slowly opened up, with Kanami’s grinning face in the driver's seat. She reached out of the window.
“You better be ready to lose, idiot-” Kanami said, poking Rikishi on his nose.
Rikishi’s eyes lightened up, as his face turned red. Suddenly the Seppuku clan’s car drove away on full speed. Rikishi shaked his head.
“O- Oi, that’s unfair!” Rikishi shouted, as he drove after them.
The two kept driving at full speed, and Kuruka grabbed his walkie talkie. He pressed the button and then shouted-
“C- Can you hear me?!”
His voice echoed through both vans. Takumi’s eyes widened up as you could hear screams in the other van. Kuruka started to laugh.
“W- Woah, what happened?!” Takumi asked.
Kuruka turned off the walkie talkie.
“I was just testing the walkie talkie, try yours, Nokado.” Kuruka said.
“Oh- mhm...” Nokado replied, slowly turning the walkie talkie on.
“T- Test-”
“WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT!?”
Nokado’s eyes widened up and dropped the walkie talkie by shock. Kuruka started to laugh harder…

“Hey, Grey...” Red asked.
“Yes?” Grey replied.
“What if you won’t be the only one there?” Red asked.
“Of course I won’t be the only one there-”
Red slammed his hand on the table, standing up. The other two looked his way.
“... Then why will only you go?” Red asked.
“Because I will make it out alive, if things go downhill.” Grey replied.
Red’s hands turned into fists.
“But what if you don’t?” Red mumbled.
The other two wanted to say something, but they couldn’t. Grey turned his back to Red, and walked to the door.
“Just stay here until I come back… If I don’t come back in 12 hours, you can come pick me up.” Grey said.
Red let out a sigh, he was still looking down.
“Oi...” Red mumbled.
Grey stopped.
“... Promise me you will come back.” Red followed up, still mumbling.
Grey turned to him.
“Yeah, I promise...” Grey said, smiling.
“... We’ll see ya.” Grey followed up, closing the door.
He walked up to the car and drove full speed to the skyscraper…

“Everyone, ready?” Daniele asked.
“Yes, everything is going good.” Lorenzo replied.
“... Good, now… ” Daniele mumbled.
“... If everything ends up going our way, we will have the Ishido clan stuck here, forever.” Daniele said, grinning.
“But something is odd, where is The Allied Gang?” Mike asked.
A sudden explosion could be heard.
Silvia ran into the room.
“They’re here!” Silvia shouted.
“Talk about the goddamn devil.” Mike said.
“Just in time… ” Daniele said.
“Time for a four-gang mexican standoff...”

The Madec Legacy
The dawn of Emotion Based A.I.s is here, John is the fifth test subject to have an AI implemented in his brain, and so far the first one to survive. Blinded by the dream of immortality, the researchers push the tests to inhumane standards. John is obligated to take part in sessions of torture designed to test the limits of the AI influence over the physical and mental health. What was supposed to be a new beginning in life turns into living hell. An (un)lucky twist ends his life. John then reincarnates with his AI in a new world where a System influences the interaction between Magic and Matter. With seemingly limitless potential and a game-like system influencing the world, the hero sets on his journey. --AUTHOR NOTE, PLEASE READ-- I will state here my promises to you, potential reader: 1. No harem! I don't trust myself to make a harem feel natural or healthy, I never met any person who has a personality that can adapt and live in a harem for reasons that are not monetary, so I can't draw inspiration from real life. Sorry!; 2. The enemies will not be bland and illogically mean. Some may feel like that at first, but I will take great care in fleshing them out, trust me. You may end up hating some, but you won't be able to deny that they had their reasons for what they did; 3. I am using a paid (and expensive) automated editor tool, and I take longer to write because I take my time in editing the stuff. I am aiming to improve and I will not shy away from constructive criticism, nor take offense for no reason; 4. Characters will die and will suffer, some will get over the tragedies and improve, others will not be as resilient. 5. This novel has a lot of ground to cover, it is neither a short story, a manual on crafting, or the script of some action scene. There will be both time skips and oversimplifications of some actions for the sake of moving the story forward. Time skips will be more prominent in the first 30 chapters. I will describe crafting processes and fights with more detail if they are essential for the chapter; 6. If I took my time describing something, it's because it is important. I hate novels that waste time describing useless stuff. If you skim over something, the chances are that something in the future will not make sense. I am an adept of "Chekhov's gun" principle; 7. I already have 31k words on my auxiliary documents, I have a plan for the story, and I will not be making changes even if someone ends up noticing some foreshadowing and figures out what will happen. The story comes first. 8. I have a wife, a job that demands 9h every day and courses related to my job (lawyer) three days of the week, it's unlikely that I will be able to do mass releases at all. I will have a healthy amount of chapters to be able to post at least 1 chapter every day continually. Don't worry. 9. I will read all the comments. I will listen to all you have to say and will try my best to accommodate demands as long as they do not hamper the path I prepared. 10. There is an arc that spans the entire novel. Each volume will be an arc in itself while progressing a little bit of the main arc. Every arc will have one or more main antagonists. I think that's it! Thank you for reading it all. Have an awesome time reading my first novel!!

The Girl from the Mountain
Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!

Necromancer's Resolve
Foster Locke's life wasn't the harshest it could have been. But it wasn't the easiest either. Despite losing the last of his family and having immense debt thrown on him, getting the chance to keep practicing Martial Arts pulled away, and having a completely messed up sleep-schedule, he usually tried his best to stay positive to the outside world. Of course, that wasn't always possible, especially not when he was staring into the glowing eyes of a man-eating creature he had never heard of before. The glowing message-box that accompanied it wasn't much better either. Not to mention the fact that he was suddenly in a dark forest instead of the train station. This isn't a story of great anguish, inescapable peril, or heroic world-saving. Rather, it's one of a young man trying to get by in a world that seems to try his best to kill him. I hope you enjoy the read. --- Cover Image temporary [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
