A silhouette of a boy could be seen standing in the shadow of the gate of the guards' cabin with a slight smile on his face.
"Grabbing the keys was a piece of cake, now all that's left is to drag that stupid girl with me, making her understand would take too long, I'll just have to drag her with me" Jason released a helpless sigh as he thought about Arya, she had helped him a lot when his parents passed away. She even sent meals to his dorm trough Harry when he refused to come out of his room. He had been in a dark place and only with the support of both of his friends did he come out of it and could be the emotional pillar his sister needed. The ringing of his phone shook him out of his stupor and coincidentally the caller was Arya.
"It's better this way I'll just say that there is an emergency and I need her to come to the bus-stand, I'll explain it all there. "He mumbled under his breath as he picked up the call.
"Hello"
"I know all of it, harry called…couldn't you tell me yourself you bastard!! I'll be at the bus stand in a minute to whip your ass for not telling me yourself." Came the voice of Arya who sounded as if he had done her great wrong. And the call was cut… all of this happened so abruptly he couldn't even fathom what happened right now.
"What the hell did that shit head tell her to make her so riled up! Well, I'll deal with it later we have an apocalypse to survive first." Jason cursed under his breath.
"Shit!" Jason cursed again as he saw that only 12 minutes were left. He took off in a mad sprint again as it'll take 6 minutes to reach the bus stand. He'll also have to find the bus with which this key goes too.

As his sweat-soaked form reached the bus stand he could see that it was like a barren land filled with busses and the only guard out there was one that was on the main gate from where the exit was. Harry was there with a metal road and a baseball bat with him sitting near a bus with his back hunched as he typed furiously on his laptop. Arya was also there standing there watching curiously at Harry with a baffled expression as she couldn't fathom why Harry was typing in such a frenzy.
"Is it done? "Jason asked loudly alerting them o his presence.
"Yes, it's all over the internet and right now I'm in a war against the white hackers as they are trying to find me and remove the banners that I posted all over the web," Harry replied as his brows scrunched up, he didn't even look up from his laptop as it was taking up all his concentration fight the white hats.
"Don't worry about exposing your location, they won't have time for that in some time. Just start posting it more"
"I'm using the college Wi-Fi so they will have to call the dean and put down the whole Wi-Fi system of the college as I re-routed the traffic across all the PCs in the network and if one stops another one will take its place. "Harry snapped his laptop closed with a smack, it would take them at least 10 minutes to identify and shut down the system so his work was done.
"What the hell is going on!! I thought you were transferring to a different college overseas today… I was so miserable knowing that and the fact you didn't tell me before made it worse" Arya screamed as she pointed her trembling finger at Jason accusingly as tears welled up in her eyes.
But on having seen both their reactions she could see something else was happening.

"something else is going on right?" She wipes her eyes as she stares at both of them, she could feel that the vibe here was much more serious.
"Yes something else is up but I'm leaving the college, in fact, everyone will be forced to leave their colleges from this day onwards," Jason said with a sad sigh, humanity will be torn apart in approximately 5 minutes, there will be intestines and organs of people sprawled on the roads by the end of the day. Colleges, schools, offices, these mundane things won't matter anymore. Jason shook his head to rid himself of these dark thoughts, he had to first survive and also help his friends and sister survive this, they are all he has in his life.
One thing he couldn't understand was how could the system give the exact time of the apocalypse? How did people convert to zombies? how did it spread? Because if it spread then it would be found out before it comes here. The only way for the word of it to not travel would is that if it all started here in this college. He had asked all this from the system but it didn't reply to any of these queries except stating that it didn't start from any specific place, it started all over the world in an instant. Even then how did people get infected initially remained a mystery.
"Jason!" Arya called his name aloud making waking him from his thoughts.
"I'm sorry Arya but we don't have time to tell you what's going on right now, please follow us right now, you'll have your answers in a minute. Just know that something terrible is going to happen and we are trying to save ourselves" Jason said as he remembered that he had to ask the system whether his friends were infected or not, he'll be devastated if they are.
"Are my friends infected?" Jason asked the system in a weak voice.
"The girl is infected" He could feel his world falling apart as he slipped on his feet, he would have fallen straight down if not for Arya who rushed up to him and took his falling form in her arms.
As he refocused his eyes he could see her beautiful face in front of him with her hair falling to the side of his face. The sun behind her head created a mesmerizing view enchanting him as he gazed at her azure blue eyes. Tears welled up in his eyes for the first time, he could handle the apocalypse but losing her would break him from inside. She was his pillar, he would take on the world for his friends and sister but losing her would make life a far worse than an apocalypse.
"Is there a way to save her" He desperately asked the system.
"No, you don't have enough level clearance to cure the infection." He could hear his heartbreaking.
"SO there is a way... do it or else ill kill myself and your existence will be for nothing," Jason shouted in his mind as a last-ditch effort.
"there is a way but this is the last time the system will take your threats, next time you'll have a punishment that'll make you regret threatening the system" The systems loud voice reverberated in his mind, this time it was way louder than before making him finch.
"You'll be given a 10,000 credits loan with which you'll be given a single dose of the virus clearance dose. You will have to repay in two weeks otherwise the effects of the medicine will be reverted back and you'll bear a 20,000 coins debt." The system went silent after saying it's piece.

Red Street Daybreak
August Samuel Hatch was born under an inauspicious pattern of stars. It's granted him what is widely considered the most unlucky of inconveniences: becoming host to a powerful but pernicious spirit that will act as his guide and protector--and one day end his life. Sairne is sworn to stand by August's side and, when the fancy strikes her, advise him, all in the service of atoning for a past life she can’t remember having committed a grave enough offense to earn her soul indentureship in the mortal realm. Bound by a celestial contract neither one can negotiate, their fates are all they've ever known. But in a city ruled by religious right and where magic runs deep as bedrock, their search for a missing friend leads them to a dark conspiracy that could transmute the very magic that binds them to their fates, and that might grant them the ultimate choice: do they save the city or save themselves? Cross-posted on Wattpad and Ao3. For fans of fantasy YA story beats if they starred adults instead, 1920s inspired setting, lots of banter, larger cast of characters, somewhat soft magic system. Completed, but being actively edited prior to posting! I'm the only captain on this ship, so mind any errors.
