《What Chaos Can do》Martha, you're doing it again

Running through the mountain forest was not her brightest idea, but Jeanie didn’t think of that beforehand. John wasn’t as fast as her, so she had to hold his hand and pull him along the whole way. Jeanie had managed to acquire their things on her way out of the castle, even got dressed in some clean commoners clothing. Jeanie was pretty sure that they got away without notice, being as how she didn’t hear any commotion behind her. She didn’t recognize that what commotion was happening was in front of them. A posse of goblins that lived in a nearby cave system had gone out hunting for the night and was about 30 yards ahead. They didn’t notice Jeanie and John’s presence either, which was good. Jeanie and John continued running, until John tripped, with a small yelp, hit the leaf covered ground. Jeanie slid to a stop and helping him up, heard the idle goblin chatter.
*Od ouy kniht ew nac kaens yawa dna kcuf laer tsaf?*
*Pots gniksa erofbe i truh ouy”
*ouy wonk taht si woh i ekil ti*
Little giggling could be heard form the smaller, female goblin, though Jeanie couldn’t understand what they were saying. She decided that she would ambush the small crew of about 10 (11) and take what useful things they had, and continue on.

Jeanie helped John to his feet, and handed him her bag, and the blanket she stole from Castle FatBoy.
Jeanie crouched low, using her nightvision to find her targets. Jeanie’s clothing slowly started to mold to her form, until it appeared she was completely naked. Breathing heavy and concentrating on her shift, she got on all fours to avoid the tumbling down the mountain from her body weight shifting. Slowly her face and hands, and feet gave way to a long ,grey dog like snout, and paws. Out of her back, above her shrinking ass, grew a long tail with small bumps and barbs on the end. Her back it self arched and flexed giving way to a long, protruding spinal column beneath short grey peppered fur. Long gangly legs, and sharp teeth, with pointed ears. Jeanie had turned herself into the Phase Hound form she had practice shifted into the day prior.
Jeanie flashed out of existence, and reappear directly behind the crew of goblins, making no sound, until she stepped on the leaves under foot. The goblin in the very back, directly in front of her, turned to see what the noise was, and caught a glimpse of something off white yellow-ish, wet, and smelly. It open up, to reveal the wet, stinky, tongue of the Jeanie Hound behind it. Before it could let out a sound of alert, its entire head was bitten into, shaken, and detached from its body, rather violently, and fast. The other goblins hearing the sound of their comrade’s body hitting the ground turned around, but it was already to late for some. Two had their throats ripped out, followed by a flash, and then another was killed by his throat being crushed in the snarling jaws of the half-elf turned Phase Hound. Jeanie proceeded to kill, maim, mortally wound 7 more goblins very quickly. Taking no damage and confident that all of them were dead, Jeanie sniffed around for where the smell of old tree sap and blood was coming from.

*FFFFFWWSSSSSSSSS* *SPLUK*
*HHOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUU*
Jeanie let out an ear piercing howl, looking down at the spear lodged in her back right paw. The worst part what that it had pinned her to the spot she was standing.
*kniht taht ouy nac llik ym stnurg dna teg yawa htiw ti!?*
A goblin a bit larger than the others stepped out of the shadows cover head to toe in leather, and metal scraps holding a spear in his hand with two strapped to his back by a makeshift spear quiver. A wolf skull strapped to his head with straps of uneven leather.
* eraperp ot eid, hctib!*
The goblin boss rose his spear and pointing it directly at Jeanie’s face, lunged…
He missed, and Jeanie seeing him stumble on an odd shaped root, bit his face and ripped a huge chunk of it off. Muscle and blood, and sinew, and blood, and flesh. Did I mention blood?
*AAAAAAAHHHHHH*
The goblin boss quickly fell, trying to run away, hit his head on a rock, and passed out.
John came running down the slope towards Jeanie, setting the stuff he was holding down, and grabbed the spear. He pulled, crying, scared for his sister, not wanting her to be hurt. He pulled and after pulling several times succeeded in removing the spear. Jeanie let out a yelp of pain before stepping away with the paw held close to her body. Not wanting to deal with not having fingers, Jeanie, after concentrating, started shifting back to her regular shape and size. Her foot hurt like hell, and she didn’t have anything to stop the bleeding. Holding her foot and trying to slow the bleeding, she thought she was gonna have to make her way back to the castle to get treatment for herself. Jeanie, angry as hell, stood up from her crouched position, limped to the goblin boss, and ended his life with her natural claws. John grabbed his bag and pulled out a small bottle of red, thick, liquid; uncorked the bottle and poured some out on Jeanie’s foot without her seeing him. She felt the liquid hit her foot, and braced for more pain, but felt nothing but the pain in her foot dissipating.
Examining her foot, she noticed it was slowly healing and forming back together.
“John, you fucking genius. Thank the gods for you. I love you. Good thinking bud.” Jeanie praised him much to his elation. His sister was gonna be okay and he was happy about it.

“Hey John. I leveled up again.” Jeanie tells her brother excitedly.
“What did you get this time?” John asks, severe curiosity filling his speech.
“ Summon Nature’s Ally, and Low Light Vision. Huh, interesting.” Jeanie puzzled over her new Features.
Each Feature earned came with the knowledge on how to apply it practically in the real world. Jeanie decided to see the description of the Feature, to get a better idea on how it worked.
Make a call out to nature, and ask for assistance in any and all tasks. Ally depends on task.
Asking for guidance in an objective will produce an animal with high Wisdom or Intelligence.
Asking for assistance in battle with produce an animal with high Strength and Agility.
Asking for small tasks such as finding something will produce an animal with high Wisdom.
Low light vision is self-explanatory
“ Cool, let’s find a place to rest, and I can test out the Ally thing tomorrow. I am really tired” Jeanie, finally able to take a break from fighting and running, walked leisurely down the mountain for an hour before reaching the bottom. He stomach growled loudly, and she decided to use some of the dead branches and twigs laying around to start a fire and cook the fish in her bag. With her new feature she could find them fairly easily. After a few minutes of hunting for tinder, she made a small fire in a small hole John dug in the ground, and using a flexible stick, cooked the remaining 8 fish. She had eaten one while giving John one as well. She thought back to the Mayhem that overtook her life years before.
Not knowing that people were dead, she heard a knock on her family home’s door. She answered it, and was greeted by a black leather clad Duergar, a wolf skin clad Human, and a steel plate wearing Elf. They asked her if she knew of a way to get to the floating elf city. She had been reading a book, her father told her not to touch, that contained a spell that allows the caster to produce two gems of omnipotence. She told them that she could help them and they could go to the city if they wanted to. She and her 13 cats walked through the town til they got to the broken bridge. The elf lady turned into a 30 ft snake and used her body as a bridge so that they could cross. Once everyone(cat) was across, the woman turned back to normal on the other side. They all walk to a large tree, separate from the others and Jeanie knock on it three times. * knock knock knock* A square portion, door sized, folded into the tree, followed by another section behind it doing the same, and another. When it stopped they all walked inside, and Jeanie’s cats sat around the new hidden room. She took about an hour ( 67.4 minutes) casting a ritual. Painting runes, and images of gods, and demons. When she finished and said the last incantation two bone hands rose from the floor of the hidden room. One was holding a white gem, the other, a black gem. The adventures took them, talked amongst themselves, crushed one, and disappeared. Jeanie heard a scream shortly after they vanished followed by..
“JEANIE! WHERE ARE YOU!?”
It sounded like her mother, and she sounded scared...

Essentia Animus
Second Book of the Soul - Celesi Veil Trilogy When the living essence of three girls are put at risk, giving room for a second essence within themselves, even their hyper developed fantasy world might not be enough to contain their new found ambitions. Another story of another world, these three girls must adapt to their new essence, all while each is left to question if they are truly still even alive. While this story is a sequel of the previous story in the trillogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, taking place in a distant corner of a Celese returning readers will be otherwise incapable of recognizing. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for the previous book, in case that matters to anyone. This story takes place over two centuries after the events of Vitae Memorandum, when Celese had developed into an advanced world, improved to a point that it is much like modern-day Earth while still using the gift instead of technology. The Aethyx languages are still present in this book, and even English still exists in the world after the events of the previous book, but are much less of a focus after the same closing events of the previous book. What is instead important is how the ending events of the previous book had resulted in the start of the Instrumentation Era, and exactly how the gift translates in a modern-day sense. While this book is still effectively a fantasy world of its own kind of magic, it isn’t the classical medieval scene that would be typical for such a story. The laws of science still do not exist in Celese, but that didn’t stop it from developing into something that looks similar enough. Earth itself still remains present on the other side of the veil, and its previous exposure continues to shape and advance Celese into the world it has become. This story contains scenes exibiting mania and similar dark themes, as it goes to great length to explore concepts of life and death. While the degree of such themes should not be considered to be as serious compared to matters such as actual horror, the psychological depth is still siginifcant enough to be potentially concerning for people sensitive to matters of this nature, such as any individuals with concerns questioning matters of suicide, mental harm, or a variety of emotional injuries. While none of these subjects actually occur in the story, readers who are currently troubled by such matters may find themselves considering old wounds if they are especially capable of empathy while reading, which could lead to furthered emotional or mental stress. Readers with a high capacity for empathy may find themselves troubled by concerns regarding any potential lack of mental/emotional control as well as considerations regarding the meaning of death. Readers who appreciate subtle dark themes in a story may instead find this to be an interesting twist of the same idea.
