《Abyssmal Downpour》A new life form

Nobody wants to wake up in a completely dark place at least on their birthday. What came after hours of expectation and excitement was hell.Exactly opening up a door to fall through a steep ravine instead of the nostalgic birthday music rumming, was a bit too much of a surprise even for resolute person such as Karl.
He, who had faced a painful freefall earlier, found himself lubricated in a muscus like gel. Being unable to see due to the bandages covering his body, he could only speculate it's nature by the sense of difficulty in his movements. Could it be jelly? Or grease. Unexpectedly, it was not as viscous as he first thought. The disturbing fact was his body was dulled due the injuries he carried of fall.Another mysterious phenomena, he noted was that the gel felt revitalising effect on skin, similar to that of bath.
He reluctantly begun to move his joints, to check for fractures. As he expected, he found that his lower hind legs have suffered the most in fall. Now standing up on his feet, will an arduous task for rest of his life. Not to mention the future, the pain he felt right now was a torture in itself.
As he uncovered the piece of cloth ecclipsing his veyes, he felt a slightly dim source of light near him. Lights in his world were lit up at the cost of a fuel but what he saw clearly defied this. In fact the source was rather too near.
"How can this be..?"
The gel he habitually termed "moss", was evidently glittering near his nassal area. The glitter sprinkled as he took a deep breath. Being a medic he theorised this was due to the presence of Carbon dioxide emitted by him and confirmed it by observation that only moss near him was partially luminous.

But this completely absurd development appeared to his advantage, as his sense of sight came to life because of it. He has never heard of any such gel before. He showed great curiosity towards it.Temporarely shifting focus towards an opmistic topic rather than his dire straits, provided him an opportunity to get a hold of himself.
While looking around he discovered that the torn up piece of cloth covering the region around his feet has disappeared. Contrarily cloth covered in voilet moss remained. He searched the medical kit, which was luckily spared from making contact with the moss, to dicovery that the expiration dates of medicine were printed wrong.
After checking himself once again to see if nothing else is going strange around his surrounding, he crawled on the slippery surface while trying to minimize any further deepening of wounds. Now it was quite clear that he was abducted and had managed to make an escape. What was left was to find nearby humans and return home.
Initially he thought of waiting it out while hoping if help would arrive, but he knew he had already been unconscious for more than a day now and such luxurant views may send him to his deathbed. Had this been a nightmare, he would have been already forced awake due to all the gut-wrenching pain he was suffering now.
To survive, he knew wasn't going to be a superficial ride to his living necessities or people on enroutte popping up next instance to his aid, but a desparate clinging to his life by exploring all possibilities.
Even though the pain and despair he felt, were overwhelming but the desire to live within wasn't any lesser than those. It originated from the memories of his loving family, the happiness he shared and cared for and most of all, the peacefull yet funfilled life he had lived till now.

"Growl"
Food ,a devilish call from a man's stomach that led to many irredeemable acts throughout history, was all he cared to get at this instant. If his stomach is not filled, that made survival all the more difficult.
But unfortunately only glittering violet moss and a ground covered with crystals of different shapes and sizes were the main palate for this dining.
As he deduced from the it's revitalising effect, the moss was a scavenging lifeform surviving off the crystals as they appeared to be partially distorted around edges. It also decomposed his dead skin cells.
Unfortunately this combination of nature didn't appeared edible at all, yet faced with no other alternative he recklessly decided to devour them while mixing the violet moss with crystal dust. Hunger truly forces mankind to commit irredemable acts.
This desparate move he pulled could be considered purely based on instincts. It was tasteless. Also the bad blood in his throut was now gone thanks to the scavenging moss.
After temperorarily sating his hunger by applying such vile culnary atticates, he continued to press farward hoping to reach the support, which he saw in the form of a large colourless crystal at a distance of 10 steps from him. This served as a reminder to him of how fragile human body truly was. He vowed that he will never act carelessly when his vision was blocked.
He noticed the amount of glittering violet moss was increasing at snailesque rate and the blood he left on ground disappeared after some time. Thus, he concluded that the moss was a lifeform that not only decomposed anything dead from crystal to flesh, but also mutated when it came in contact with carbon dioxide.A completely unprecedented lifeform that threw medical science into oblivion.
After barely pulling himself to the support, he threw a glittery ball of red cloth comprising crystal and moss, in upward direction . This was a desperate attempt to notify any possible rescuer or just merciful passerby of his presence.
By this point in time his mind was so disarranged by solitude, that even the face of a "human" terrorist may appear like that of an angel. But what he got...
"Schhh"
Just as when he was about to faint from loss of blood, he heard a sound of rustle amidst crystally plane. Once again, he pushed himself up and with a optimistic note tried to staggeringly yet hopefully walk towards that direction.
"Grrrrrr!!!! I refuse to die"
With a roar filling his body with stength, he carried himself in the hopes of ceasing life.
He no longer cared for any preservation of wounds or lasting longer. Threwing himself forward in the direction of incoming call, where he saw his last lease of life was.
After seeing the source of sound, he was thoroughly stunned. And only thought along the lines of "Why god? have you forsaken me?".
A moss covered creature which appeared to be a mixture of pig and a ape had came over sensing unusual changes in the area. This unpredictable situation only further escalated as it let out an assault on Karl, who was staggering because of this never before seen sight.

8 255The Grey Realm, an Erebus Story.
Written by: Staugroan and The Inklets. Edited by: Claudia Adams. In the beginning there was a god, who watched over and made one world his own. Soon after the god grew restless, but happened to stumble on a small world filled with life. This world was named Erebus by its peoples; humanity. The god was so fascinated with this new world that he started to copy it back home, creating oceans, forests, deserts, and so forth. Then the god created life and eventually his favored creations who would be immortals and be the better of mankind in every way-the elves. So often the god had traveled to Erebus that the two worlds became linked by magic and their inhabitants could cross at will. Relations between the races flourished, and a great empire was born in the Grey Realm, home of the elves. But the god once again grew restless, and set loose great beasts that stood at the top of any food chain, the apex. At first the elves met the challenge and fought them head on. But mankind was not so lucky, they died in droves to push back even a single apex. Something had to be done. Elves and man worked together to begin sealing off the worlds to protect mankind, to limit the ways in and out to better fight the apex off and keep their fellows safe. The ritual had adverse effects the likes of which neither the elves nor man could predict; the sealing of the worlds started slow, but the magic had never been done before, and in their ignorance it spread to completely cut the two worlds off from one another. It ejected the apex, and other magical being back into the Grey Realm, saving Erebus. At first the elves were content, they would find a way back once the apex were dead and gone. But the seal had done more than keep Erebus locked away. The powersource of the seal was magic itself, from both worlds, and it consumed it all greedily. The elves, weakened without their magic, crumbled into ruin, and the apex were free to hunt the other races of the Grey Realm. Two-thousand years later a strange phenomena is occurring and magic is slowly returning to the Grey Realm, and tears open that allow passage to Erebus. Thu'lain and a few elves must make the journey to fallen kingdom of the elves Anosora, in the hopes of reclaiming what was once theirs. They must face their nemesis the apex, and survive not only the species that have turned against them, but a terrible being left behind by the god to kill even the apex. Uch'l'thein, the faceless terror.
