《The Demon King》Chapter 14

With the increase in power and confidence, Shirou and Kurono continued their journey into the unknown land.
Running while avoiding the wild beasts, Shirou located a village in the distance and headed towards it. But on the way they came across a fairy, a big fairy that was the size of a human baby.
It seemed to live in the house in the forest as it hid inside when they came into the clearing. She looked at them with her pure gaze that was filled with curiosity.
Shirou stopped and thought about it. They could continue to the nearby village and gather information or they could try asking the fairy for some information before continuing.
"Kurono, talk to her." Shirou said as he knew fairies were sensitive to magic so he didn't want to alarm her by using his magic while standing so close.
Fairies were very shy creatures and wouldn't come close to other species most of the time. It was rare for someone to be accepted by these tiny beings.
"Are you sure? My looks are scary, maybe you should go?" Kurono didn't want to brag but he had the face of a gangster, one glare from him would make normal people piss themselves.
"Don't worry, Fairies don't care about looks."
"Thanks for the vote of confidence." Kurono was used to hearing confirmations about his appearance so he didn't take offence. He also knew that Shirou wasn't making of fun of him as it was just a response to his query.
Shirou didn't notice the problem with his words and Kurono walked towards the fairy.
"Hello, my name is Kurono. We come in peace." Kurono said slowly in a gentle manner like he was talking to a child.
The Fairy looked at him from the window of the log house and flew out towards him. Seeing that Shirou hadn't given him a warning and her cute looks, Kurono didn't make any moves.
She stopped in front of him and looked at him curiously.
"My name is Lilly and I am the Guardian of the forest. Why are you here Mr. Kurono?" Lily asked with a tone that could only be described as cute.
Lily looked like a cute 3-4 year old child with 4 rainbow-colored wings. She possessed shining platinum long blond hair and transparent emerald green eyes.
From her tone he could sense the purity of a child, which was reinforced by her look.
"Lily, do you know a place where we can find humans?"
"There is no human city or village nearby, but in the Irz village there are two half humans. Would you like Lilly to show you the way?" Lily asked without a sign of showing any suspicion about their motives.
Kurono didn't know but Shirou understood. The fairy could read a person's emotion and mind. She felt nothing threatening from them, which was why she decided to show herself.

Fairies could never lie either.
"Were these humans wearing a sun necklace?" Kurono asked as the Sun was the symbol of the White Sacrament.
Everyone associated with them wore an accessory somewhere, necklace, earring, symbol on their clothes or had it tattooed on their skin.
"No, they were good people. Lilly liked them." Lily could feel Kurono's worries and answered in her way to help him.
"Thank you Lily, can I do something to help you for this help?"
"I am happy to help. Thank you is enough."
"Okay, but I will definitely give you something later. For now, could you guide us to the village?" Kurono felt his heart relaxed and warm in the presence of Lily, her purity healed his cursed soul.
Remembering the situation, he didn't get derailed and asked for what they had come for. Outsiders in a village weren't liked especially in this kind of Era but with fairy by their side, they could get in without an issue.
"Yes, please follow me." Lily happily flew around Kurono and went on ahead, making the duo start walking.
She took a slow pace and Kurono didn't say a thing about hastening it since it didn't matter much and seemed rude.
"Lily, why are you staying alone? Or, is there somebody with you?" Kurono decided to talk with Lily as he felt good and it was also beneficial for his mind. He had gone by six months without proper communications so he was in severe need of practice especially since Shirou was lost in his world at the moment.
"There is no one. I live alone to protect the other fairies. I am the Guardian."
"There are others, so why is none of them joining you?"
"They do not like Lily." Lily replied with a sad look.
"Why?"
"Because Lily is big and ugly, fairies are small and beautiful."
"Who said that? Lily is cute, cuter than anything I have ever seen." Kurono was offended by this opinion and wanted to punch these fairies that made such a cute child sad.
"Really?" Lily smiled and looked at him with her shining gaze
"Yes, you can ask my friend and he will say the same thing." Kurono said with a confident tone
Lily looked at Shirou and then back to Kurono looking very happy.
"You also look good, Kurono."
"Eh, thanks." Kurono felt embarrassed that a child was trying to make him feel good.
"Fairies can't lie so she doesn't think you look bad." Shirou muttered so that Kurono could understand the situation better.
He didn't think the fairy would take a liking to Kurono but it seems he turned out to be good with kids.
With that Lily seemed to feel better about Kurono and started talking more, she asked him about himself and where he came from while talking about the region.

She talked about the Irz Village that they were visiting. It was a small village with 100 to 200 people. It had Lizardman, Lamia, Elves, Harpies, Goblins, hobgoblins, Orcs and Warcats living there.
The head of the village was an Elf woman and it was a peaceful place away from the cities of the Kingdom of Daidalos. The nearest village was 5 hours by carriage and 30 min by flight.
There were wild goblins, large beasts and such in the area.
Lily protected the fairies from the monsters and lived in her cottage without anyone. She visited the village from time to time for supplies and sold fairy dust to them as it was a valuable item. It got heal mortal injuries and could be used in alchemy for high tier potions.
There was an adventurer guild in the village but it didn't have many people and all of them were low rank since this place was generally peaceful.
They hadn't seen any serious battle in decades.
--------------
The moment they got closer to the village, the duo saw people from their world standing outside the wall.
The one at the front was a girl with long red hair and behind her stood three others, one guy and two girls.
Shirou was surprised by their presence. They were wearing modern clothes and could tell that he was an outsider.
He could also tell one of the girls was Japanese while the others could have been from this world, but their clothes and expression told him that they weren't.
They didn't seem to be professionals but just some high school kids.
"Lily, are they the humans?"
"Yes."
"Hello, my name is Shirou. I am from Japan, you?" Shirou walked ahead of Kurono and Lilly as he stood in front of the group.
Trusting the fairy, he was sure that they were not threats or she wouldn't have said anything good about them.
Fairies don't like bad people.
"Rias Gremory, also from Japan. Did you get here because of the White Sacrament?" Rias Gremory was a beautiful girl with epic proportions that attracted every ones gaze.
She was the heiress of the Gremory Clan after her older brother, Sirzechs, took the title of Lucifer. She is the only daughter and youngest child of Zeoticus and Venelana Gremory. She was known as the Crimson-Haired Ruin Princess and was a first-year college student at Kuoh Academy, the President of the Occult Research Club, and the school's number-one beauty, as well as one of Kuoh Academy's Two Great Ladies alongside Akeno Himejima, her queen.
She was wearing the Kuoh Academy girls' school uniform, which consisted of a white long-sleeved, button-down shirt with a black ribbon on her shirt collar worn under a black shoulder cape and a matching button-down corset, a magenta skirt with white accents, and brown dress shoes over white crew-length socks.
Behind her stood her team wearing their school Uniform as well since they had been transported to this world while at school.
"Yes, and it seems you also have a problem with them." Shirou could see the hatred in her gaze and the shaking of her body told him that she was frustrated.
"Did you see someone with similar clothes? Did you see a guy with brown hair, a stupid face and a red gauntlet?" Rias asked with little hope, Issei Hyoudou had been summoned to this world.
They had followed behind and gotten stuck in this world. The spell had malfunctioned as she had hijacked the summoning process and it wasn't supposed to bring more people.
They had been sent to this continent while Issei was summoned in the lab. After weeks of trying she had connected to him as the barrier stopping their communication was lowered.
She realized that he had been here for six months already and that he was unresponsive. She wanted to rush to his side but with their current strength it was impossible.
She could only wait for her brother to find them or gather people to help fight the enemy. To make worse, the connection was cut off and now she didn't what happened to him.
She was scared that he might have died in this unknown land.
"Sorry, but I only appeared few days ago. Kurono, have you seen someone like that?"
Kurono closed his eyes and nodded after a moment, "I remember, there was this guy with a red gauntlet covering his arm and he always shouted boost. He was the strongest opponent I had fought and we always ended up with a tie at the start. But he won against me later and after that I have never seen him."
"He should be alive. The master of this project seemed to be making an army of such puppets and they might be used for the exploration of this continent."
"What do you mean?"
"The Arc Continent will attack Pandora and conquer it, so the puppets will definitely participate in the battles." Kurono replied as he felt bad for the kids, they seemed out of their element with this thing. Their friend was tortured and brain washed while they were stranded here.
From their presence here and their aura, he could tell they weren't normal people.
"Thank you and I will meet you later, so please excuse me." Rias muttered as she cooled her heart and walked away while the group followed her so they could talk things out with the new information.
The trio watched them leave and continued on their way to the Irz village where they were greeted by a large Lizardman who allowed them to enter as they were guided. The Lizard treated her with respect and on the way they also saw goblins acting like normal people, farming and stuff.

Tales from the Triverse
Tales from the Triverse is part detective drama, part fantasy adventure and part space opera. I’m influenced by the likes of Iain M Banks, Isaac Asimov and ND Stevenson and work including The Wire and Gotham Central. It begins with an incident two hundred years ago which crashed three parallel universes together. Portals open up in 18th century London, sending England down a very different path. We pick up events in the 1970s, with the Metropolitan Police having established a new department to handle portal-related criminal activity. The story is about intolerance, immigration, multiculturalism and power. It’s about what happens when incompatible viewpoints are weaponised to seed discontent, and the efforts of some to create a fairer world. In the tradition of the best science fiction, fantasy and crime fiction, I’m using the setting to examine themes that matter to me in the real world. Who is it for?If you like science fiction or fantasy, or a mix of both, this is for you. It’s my first foray into crime fiction, but I hope if you’re a fan that you’ll enjoy yourself - especially if you’re looking for something a bit different. I write fiction that is optimistic, progressive and empathetic. Bad things can happen to good people in the stories, but the overall arc tends to be hopeful. Note that if it were a movie, Tales from the Triverse would be a 15 certificate in the UK.
