《The Demon King》Chapter 4

Shirou didn't speak and neither did Kurono as they ate in silence to take in the situation and gather their minds.
Shirou sat against the tree and looked over the area around them using Hawk Eyes, a magic that enhanced eye sight.
He could see 5 miles in a direction and it helped him utilize his ability to the maximum capacity so it was one of his main spells.
He had been planning to learn the overseer spell after getting used to the current spells but it seems that plan might be postponed to an unknown date since he was unsure how long it would take to get back home.
He would have to find someone that had the knowledge on dimensional travel and that person would have to be willing to help him. This was not an easy task as dimensional travel was something beyond normal mages level.
The other option would be to wait for Rin, Illya and Sakura to save him. All three of the girls were great mages and with authority over their respective families. All of them were connected to the mage world and they were all exceptionally talented unlike him so it was most likely the natural conclusion.
Shirou didn't mind that he would have to rely on others nor did he take it as an offence to his spirit. It was just the reality that he was not suited to such magic.
Looking around he could see the vegetation, the mountain range, the river, the road and beasts. It wasn't filled with monsters or such but the Ark continent did have powerful monsters.
The area was close to the lab so most of the vicious monsters were cleared out, leaving weak magical monsters or beasts.
'I hope they aren't stressed out or in any danger.' Even in this situation, Shirou cared more for the safety of his loved ones.
'Now what to do, this place is most likely under their control. I don't know how long it will take for me to get back. I will keep an eye out for dimensional artifacts and magic, but what to do now.' Shirou asked himself as he looked his eyes and relaxed.
He had been training, fighting and action as a hero while still attending school and going on dates. His schedule was hectic but Shirou enjoyed it, life felt complete and much better than before.
His survival guilt had disappeared and he truly embraced his ideals that had taken proper shape with the help of his loved ones,

Meaning, he was going to act as a counterforce to the scum of this world just like he did back home. But first he needed some proper shelter, information and team mates.
With those conditions satisfied, he could continue his goal while also be on a lookout for a way back home. Alone, he had no chance to fight against such a large force.
Changing the world didn't mean he would allow injustice to prevail as that went against his principles as he had the powers to make a change.
He couldn't allow this evil organization to continue their path and bring harm to this world and the people from his world. He was unsure of how many people they had summoned but the result was clear cut, death or mind broken.
While Shirou was thinking about the next step, Kurono was trying to relax his body and mind that had been taxed beyond human limits.
He had been experimented and granted powers beyond the limits of humanity as he was like Spiderman at this point without the spider related powers.
The experiment on his body was at the last stage so he was incomplete at this moment but that was not on his mind as he was thinking about his life back home.
He was worried about his family, his friends and his crush.
Before being summoned, the girl who he loved was telling him she loved him and then the world went dark.
It was literally one of the worst times to get summoned but he was worried someone else could have been summoned.
He remembered that his older sister had disappeared and no one had been in contact with her for a month. They had thought she might have just gone abroad and she wasn't some child so there was nothing to worry but now he was worried that it might have been a summoning.
He was worried about what he was going to do in this world. How was he going to survive in this new world? How was he going to find out if his sister was here or not? How will he knew whether his loved ones were fine or not?
Now that he had time to think clearly, only negativity rose to the front.
The only good thing at the moment was that he was free and he had someone with experience from back home helping.
Shirou was his savior in his darkest moment so Kurono felt admiration and gratitude for him. He would have been very excited if they had met when he was in the human world but such childish reactions just weren't possible after what had happened to him.

Kurono didn't know if he could ever become normal and not live with paranoia.
"Don't let your worries bring you down. Focus on what you can do instead of things out of your control, and I will do my best to guide you." Shirou's gaze shifted to his companion and noticed his distressed expression.
Unlike him, Kurono was just a normal teenager so it was a miracle that he even survived without going insane from the things done to him. Shirou didn't take him lightly after knowing what had happened to them from the Priest.
Kurono looked up as he had been staring down and found Shirou looking at him with concern. It was a expression that he hadn't seen for so long that it brought tears to his eyes as he remembered his parents and friends.
"It's alright to cry, let it all out as I am here for you." Shirou comforted him and stood up as he closed the distance between them, and placed his hand on Kurono's shoulder.
Kurono felt that his tear glands lost control as he cried without stopping and let out all the curses and frustration that plagued his mind. By the end, he fell asleep and half an hour had passed.
Shirou decided to let him take a short nap to regain the energy he lost from crying while he remained on the lookout for any threats.
It would have been really useful if he knew summoning magic for battles and scouting but he didn't have enough time and talent to learn such a difficult magic.
It was lucky that he was talented in his current magic because of Avalon that was inside of him and it even kept on providing him with support, healing him and boosting his prowess.
Shirou and Kurono rested, on the other hand their enemies were moving at full speed. They tracked them down to the place where Shirou played the trick and Kotaro checked the tracks clearly using his magical abilities.
He had specialized spells for tracking and his senses were tweaked as well.
Seeing that their foe knew how to handle himself Kotaro used the magic eye spell to see the traces of mana but once again it seems their foe had not forgotten this point as well.
All directions showed the traces of mana.
Going through some hand signs, Kotaro placed his palm against the ground as darkness rose from it and formed into crows.
It was the tracker spell and the four crows flew in all four directions to see if they could find the mana sources.
Kotaro sat down to focus on the task while Saitou stood guard.
But within few minutes one of the crows was destroyed and it was done by an arrow. Kotaro cancelled out that direction as that was not one of their targets but he focused on the communication earring to transfer the data about the outlaws to the White Sacrament as the one destroying his crow was Robin Hood.
The tracking spell worked as Shirou did leave tiny traces of his mana as he erased his own steps and Kurono's steps. The mana should have been lost in nature but the crow captured it well as Shirou had left a big bang back at the lab.
With that only one direction was left and the crow led the way while the two hunters moved.
Shirou noticed the unusual crow in the sky and deduced that it might be a tracking spell, those spells took many forms and even he knew a basic tracking spells that took the shape of tiny swords in his case.
'Hawkeye' Shirou enhanced his eyesight and found the two hunters that were from Japan, and without a doubt one of the subjects like Kurono.
'They have already lost their minds. I can't help them.' Shirou thought as he analyzed them and decided to eliminate them discreetly.
They were still few kilometers away from them so the duo would still have the head start if they needed to run.
"Kurono, let's go." Shirou shook Kurono and whispered in a serious tone. Kurono awoke with surprise at the sudden shaking but looking at the serious expression he remembered his situation and the duo ran as they jumped from tree to tree without any magic this time.
Shirou made an anti-tank rifle of the highest fire power surpassing the normal version. It was one of his main long range attacks as it was better than throwing normal cold weapons while less costing than summoning magical artifacts.
Locking onto his foes, Shirou shot in succession without any hesitation as he aimed for their midsection.

When Li’s level 100 game character is transported to a fantasy world, he realizes he is unstoppable. But…all he wants to do is be a farmer? Watch as Li tries to maintain his peaceful daily life in a chaotic world full of magic and knights.===Foreword===Slow Pace: This novel does have a slow pace with things building up piece by piece over time. However, this also means that the further you read, the more connections will begin linking up and the more the story will start building up.OP MC: The MC in this novel is extremely powerful from the very beginning. If this appeals to you, then check this novel out.Crafting/Farming Warning: This is a warning to say that if you are looking for a novel that focuses entirely on a crafting system or farming, then I have to say that this novel does eventually move on from the whole farming premise, getting much larger in scope overall.===Doever Writing Quality Guarantee===I can give a solid guarantee that the writing quality of this novel is of the highest tier on this website. Even though I would like to go through many of the initial chapters for a proofread, I still believe the writing quality is top notch for this website. There will be very few mistakes, and the few that do slip by me will not affect readability at all. Now, you may not agree with how the novel develops, but I can at the least guarantee that you will have no trouble actually reading what happensOf course, I am not perfect, so please feel free to point out mistakes and problems and I will be more than happy to fix them! But most importantly, whether you have criticisms or enjoy the book, thanks for reading!

But when an object of great and malevolent power promises to make good on all the promises the mages broke to him Mar is thrust into the world of magic. Mar will find that fate had something more than a life confined to the library planned for him after all. Authors Notes: I consider this to be a comming-of-age Sword and Sorcery story based mostly on the style of classic western fantasies. So if that's your thing then I encourage you to take a peek. Something I want to mention though is that the main character starts of pretty wimpy, and that might not be your thing. That being said, if you stick with him he's got a long way to grow. Also, while this version of the story is meant to be fully readable, more dicerning readers may want to wait until I move out of rough draft phase. There may be some inconsistancies with character and plot while I am still in the rough draft phase. I'm sorry for this, but this is my first web novel and from what I've read the best way to get a good novel out is to write write write, and then edit ruthlessly after you're finished with the book, so that's the plan I'm going to follow. Again, this is a rough draft. Everything you are reading is subject to change, including the name, title, and cover photo. This may no longer be the case once I've decided I know where this fiction is going and I have a reasonable understanding of the characters and their behavior. You're reading what comes off my keyboard as it's made, with very limited editing. There will be mistakes in the text. I do a quick spell check to take out the worst of the errors, but there will be some I miss. You can point them out in the comments if they are particularly confusing or glaring and I will try to fix them, however I am not overly concerned about minor errors as this is not the final draft by any means.
