《The Demon King》Chapter 2

Shirou's escape had managed to put the Lab in high alert and everywhere guards were looking for him. Now that he knew where he was and had gathered some information, Shirou was feeling better as his mind wasn't confused anymore by the totally unknown situation.
Hiding the body at the back of the storage room, Shirou used concealment spell on his body to become invisible to the sight. He could now move freely unless someone had sight magic or magic sonar abilities.
Getting out of the room, Shirou ran after dressing himself in the clothes borrowed from the priest. He cut it short as the man was taller than him and it wasn't meant for a close combat warrior like him.
Dressed in all white, Shirou dodged everyone with expertise as he had trained in crowded places for such situations.
He could tell that they were urgently looking for him but from their movements they didn't believe he would go to the inner sanctum. All their efforts seem to be concentrated on the different exits.
Shirou arrived in the inner area and saw the large fighting arena used for monsters and experimental materials.
It was the place where they made their experimental fighters combat against monster to perform different tests.
It was a place where hundreds of humans and monsters had died as they were forced to battle each other for their lives.
The humans in this lab didn't consider the monsters and experimental materials as living things. Outsiders were the same as monsters to these humans, meaning targets to be terminated as ordered by their Lord.
The White Sacrament was a Human supremacy organization that ruled the Ark Continent as the Kings were just pawns under its grasp as the Apostles of the White Lord were the Living Nukes that showed the might of the Sacrament.
Connected to the battle arena or testing grounds were the prisons where they kept the monsters and humanoid creatures.
Shirou directly entered the area where he could check on the humanoid creatures being kept and found that most of the cages were empty, meaning the occupants had died.
The testing phase had reached the crescendo and only the subjects considered a success were moved away, the ones inside the cage were the ones that were just waiting for the final blessing to increase their powers and kill of their minds, if there was anything left after the terrible experiments.
Shirou passed the guards in this area and looked at the cages to find only one person with a blank expression wearing the ring with spikes on his head.

He was broken and Shirou couldn't see any life in the eyes. The scene angered him greatly as he saw the horror these monster had brought onto Innocent children. It was especially rage inducing as the emptiness only meant that the successful subjects had already moved away.
It was a guy that was taller than him as he stood 1.8 meters with a muscular body and look that made him feel like a thug.
He had black hair and black eyes, without even talking to him it was apparent that he was Japanese.
He didn't know why but all these people summoned were from his country. The summoning itself was a problem and he needed to do something about it, as he couldn't tell when someone else would act.
For now his problem was how to remove these mind control items without killing them.
It was a risk but Shirou decided to cut the ring on the head quickly so that the negative affect didn't hit them.
Focusing on his powers, Shirou build Caladbolg in a normal sword form. It was a special weapon like Excalibur with magical properties. It could affect space and magic so it was the right thing to summon even though it cost him a lot of his powers.
Without support, Shirou couldn't utilize his unlimited blades or even build powerful artifacts. Luckily he had grown and building some weapons wasn't impossible for him without support.
With the Caladbolg the rainbow sword in hand, Shirou cut down the guards before going back to the prisoners as he didn't want the enemies to know his location.
Slashing through the bars with ease Shirou looked at the young man sitting their blankly and slashed the ring with utmost care and speed.
The ring was cut like butter and fell to the floor, and within moments the blank expression faded as an expression of pain took over.
The young man held his head as his mind became clear and his consciousness surfaced taking in what had happened for so long.
He scream and thrashed around while Shirou watched as he had casted a silence spell around them. The young man's expression changed from pain to rage as he had been summoned from a peaceful life to this hellish world.
He had been experimented on. He had been forced to kill when he barely fought in the normal world. He had been forced to kill other humans.
He had been inside this lab for half a year and he had become a mindless drone. He had lost all hope but now his mind was back and he wanted to kill all of them.

"Wait, I am also from Japan." Shirou saw his expression and the magic gathering in his hand so he quickly stopped him to avoid a pointless battle.
Hearing those words, the young man stopped as he looked at Shirou and saw that he looked like someone from Japan.
He had almost attacked because of those white clothes.
"Who…are…you? How?"
Shirou could see that the young man had problem talking as he hadn't spoken a word for a long time. His throat hurt from even uttering this much and it felt foreign.
"I am Shirou Emiya and I have been summoned to this world just like you. But I am also a mage in our world so I escape their hold, and now I am here to save you." Shirou replied as he helped him up.
The information didn't really register in his mind as he had too much to digest already and he just nodded.
"Kurono" Kurono pointed at himself and said as he looked at Shirou.
"It's nice to meet you Kurono. You have done a good job fighting till now. But, I need you to stay strong and follow my lead." Shirou was ten cm shorter than Kurono even though they were the same age so he to look up at him.
Kurono nodded as he closed his eyes and remembered all his skills built through the dark experience. He was a black made with the power over darkness. He could control darkness like his limbs.
He used darkness to from bullets, swords, shields, barriers, fire, pile bunkers, hooks, chains or anything he wished to form. His darkness magic could heal him. It could reinforce items and his body.
It could also allow him to store things.
He was similar to the green lantern but with black energy instead of green. Kurono could understand the language of this world as they had programmed it inside of his head but that was also a problem as it meant, it also translated magic language for him.
Kurono could only use his magic energy in such a basic manner and rely on his large reserves. He lacked magical spells since he didn't know any.
To learn, he would have to cancel the translation magic applied on his soul as he needed to learn the actual language.
Seeing Kurono form blades of dark energy and shoot bullets before forming a dark shield, Shirou was impressed and smiled.
"Good, just follow my lead and we will get out safely." Shirou said in a confident tone as he applied the invisibility again on both of them while holding his Caladbolg since only making it was difficult, maintaining it wasn't too harsh.
Kurono nodded as felt the spell cover him and he saw that Shirou had disappeared before reappearing in his vision.
Shirou started running towards the place where he had seen most of the guards while Kurono followed. They started slowly as Shirou wasn't sure how fast Kurono could move especially with an unstable mind.
He could see that Kurono wanted to lash out at the aggressors but held back since their escape could be compromised.
The young man wasn't someone that acted on impulse but was an intelligent person with a soft personality. He would absolutely murder them but now he couldn't allow harm to his savior.
The journey towards the exit was easy going as these magical knights didn't use any spell to counteract the invisibility but at the final stretch there were many magicians.
There were barriers formed to stop the escape.
"We are going through them so don't get caught." Shirou muttered as he formed a bow and locked onto the main mage at the exit.
Using Caladbolg as the arrow, Shirou unleashed destruction upon his enemies as the arrow passed the limits of sound and destroyed everything in its path.
None of them had expected such power from Shirou and the surprise attack was successful as the arrow caused most of them to die and destroyed the barriers.
With that opening Shirou ran ahead and Kurono followed but not before activating the explosion magic he had left behind while he was exploring the place.
The escape would be incomplete if he allowed them to recuperate easily plus, this place couldn't be allowed to exist as it was a place of sin.
With the multiple explosions in the lab causing imbalance in the structure, the duo escaped safely into the forest nearby with post haste before any of the Apostles were sent to check out the situation.
