《Starship Nyx》Chapter 9: Jenca and Agop

The superior team, Jynaxos and the three maguwos sat in the conference with me. Hana was done with the autopsy of voltary. She found a microchip in the brain and the chip analyzed how we humans fought. Yes, she has seen the same things before. It was a hidden mind. Hana removed the hidden mind.
The holographic image showed that the dead voltary played with his childhood friends. Hana suspected that somebody mind controlled the avianios. She would test to remove the living voltary's hidden mind. It depended on how tired the voltary was. Hana would remove the hidden mind at once, but the problem was that the voltary was iron willing. The voltary was very stubborn.
I told Hana and my friends that I stripped for the voltary. The moment was quiet. Hana asked me if I was insane. I said that she knew me. She babbled herself as if she wondered why she repeated. We had a very long discussion about the starbase and there were two problems because it was hard.
The first problem was that the starbase didn't recognize our starship or starfighters. Even the second problem was that we were three different species. We would be killed. Yes, I wondered about a thing. We had some good strategies to attack the starbase. Somebody belled and it was the communications officer from my bridge team. He told to us that he had an important information.
We got newly a weak audio message from Dikoen. The communications officer didn't know if it was a trap. He asked if we really wanted to listen and I nodded. We listened.
The audio message said, "We know that you are from the other planet, so you will give up. The base has three electric cannons."
Yes, it was a trap. We had a very long and hard discussion about the message. How would we fly to Dikoen? There was only a risky alternative. I thought of flying alone. Yes, it was too risky and I took the risk.
Hana became mad with me if I would fly alone, even Ava and Malin became sad if it would happen to me. Jynaxos wondered if I was insane. Yes, I confessed that I was insane. We humans made a big danger sometimes. I knew that it was a suicide mission and Ava stood up because she wanted to follow me. There was just one chance and we agreed about the chance.
We flew to the starbase. Somebody video called us. I answered and it was a big voltary. He became stunned to see that we piloted alone.
"Hello, sweetie!" I said.
"Excuse me, but I never have seen you before, Fron...?" the big voltary said.
"Captain Tan... Mara Tan. We are humans from the planet Earth. Someone sent a message to me. Do you want us to strip off?"
We stood up slowly. The big voltary looked away suddenly. We pulled down the zipper. He let us to fly to Dikoen and we thanked him. My computer scanned the starbase. The starbase had a weak point.
I scanned the planet first. The computer found a rare temple. I flew to Dikoen and the computer confirmed that the air was fresh. There was a military spaceport and the avianois had thousand of new starfighters. I scanned them, thought we weren't surprised of them. They were seriously weak.
The team hovered and watched us with an electric rifle. I noticed that somebody sneaked away, but my intuition said that they planned to do a big show. The team would begin to attack me, suddenly the starfighters exploded. We saw that a white feather fell when we looked up at the different avianois. They were beautiful.

The team flew to hunt their foes. We followed them. The computer found a track on our starfighter. Why was the track on our starfighter? The Wuh Anu wanted to know where the foes' HQ was. Even they needed to know where our home planet was.
The team tried to hit their foes without any successes, unforeseenly the foes hit them. I flew round and round to release the track. Yes, it was destroyed! The foes didn't attack us, so they were the good group. They flew slowly. We followed them.
There was a deep hole and we flew down. The hole had mass blue lights. I never have seen the lights before and I scanned them. They were electronic shields because the good group protected possibly its existence from the foes. There was an old port when I landed on the port. I opened the door.
A humanoid eagle and a humanoid peafowl or a female euglo and a female piofuxle flew here to me. They nodded three times. I suspected that it was an avianoian greet. Yes, we nodded three times.
"What are you for something?" the piofuxle asked.
"We are humans from the planet Earth. I am Captain Mara Tan of Star Fleet, even I am a professor of virtual archaeology and military advanced technology," I said.
"I am Colonel Ava Lindgren of Ground Forces and a professor of applied virology," Ava said.
The avianois didn't know about our planet, the titles and the subjects. We explained to them about everything, so they understood. The euglo presented herself and her name was Jenca Eoya. She was a military general. The piofuxle presented herself and her name was Agop Zolioto. She was a scientific leader.
We saw that a humanoid swan or a male swabo came later. The swabo's name was Jaufo Svija. He was an economic chief. The avianois were friendly democrats. They were freedom fighters. Jenca asked how we came to this planet.
I told that my crew caught the voltaries. The avianois were stunned because we were very good. I asked them about the motive of the bomb. They began to tell. From the beginning, it was a monarchy with a representative democracy. It always had been very peaceful, beautiful and lovely on this planet.
The false religious leader "ate" the avianois' voice. He sent mass money to the rich avianois. The theocratic dictatorship replaced the monarchy with the representative democracy instantly. Jenca's ancestors fought against the absolutism and today she would fight. She didn't know that the Mudiola's immortality still worked.
The corrupted leader called for the Mudiola. It sounded like Adolf Hitler. He lived in more than seven thousand years. The history was different from Jaun's history. He didn't seem to know about the Mudiola. I asked about the Mudiola's species.
Jenca's grandfather heard from his grandfather that the Mudiola was an unwele and his real name was Qajoyon Zayoi. I asked about the future dream, thought the avianois were quiet. Jenca and her ancestors dreamed of looking for the peace on Dikoen. I told about the peace on my home planet. The avianois asked me about it and I answered.
I asked about the situation on Dikoen. The situation was seriously bad. It was the Mudiola's wrong. We couldn't stay here longer time. If we would leave Dikoen, we would die and my starship would leave directly. We were willing to help the good avianois, but the problem was the Mudiola's immortality.
I asked about the gate. The avianois never have been there. I asked to them if they had a living captive. Yes, they just got a captive. They gave us a pair of wings with a small jet engine attached, since we didn't have any. I tested to fly slowly and it worked.

We flew to the prison. The prison was a very little house. We came in. I asked about the captive. Agop said that it was a male voltary. His name was Seunowi.
Seunowi didn't want to tell about the information. We went to the cell. Seunowi screamed that he needed the necktie. I asked to the avianois if I might interrogate him. They became hesitant of his situation first. I told them that I interrogated the kondseo and Jenca nodded slowly.
I entered and closed the door. Seunowi sat in the chair and was bound. He became surprised to see me, so I went to Seunowi. I removed my hairband. Seunowi seemed unaware about my show. He asked about my species and I explained to him.
"I need the necktie," Seunowi said.
"Give me the information first. I will give the necktie to you later, Seunowi," I said.
Seunowi was quiet. It was time for the show. I pulled down the zipper slowly and Seunowi looked away. Yes, I teased with him. He looked very fast down at the floor. I held his head against my cleavage.
Seunowi shook his head to move away from me while he bit me. I liked it when it hurt like hell. Seunowi's breath was almost over. I released him immediately. He breathed calmly and then he looked at my bra. I asked about the information.
Seunowi still was deadly quiet. I took off my coat and he looked away. His situation was very bad. I almost unhooked my bra, suddenly he would give the information to me.
"The negotiation first," Seunowi said.
"Is it about the necktie?" I asked.
"What? No... I mean yeah, but I want to have the luxurious food."
Jenca opened the door without knocking and said yes. I smiled.
"The scientists develop a very big weapon," Seunowi said.
"What kind of weapon? You may not get the food, or Mara will show her nude body," Jenca said.
Seunowi was forced to tell. We knew that there was an electrical weapon from the starbase. The Mudiola wanted to show everyone from this world that he was a god. Agop asked him about the time and the place. He said that it would be forty-eight hours in the empty place. We had plenty of time.
Jenca interrogated Seunowi more about the plan. He swore that he didn't know more something. Yes, we believed in him because his worrying eyes told the truth. The avianois discussed about the Mudiola's mind. They didn't know how to remove his immortality. I knew that there was a temple, so I revealed about it for the avianois.
After a short time, Ava and I went to our starfighter. Somebody cried. I brought my computer bag, then we followed the crying sound. There was a cemetery. We followed the crying sound. It was Agop who sat in font of the grave and cried. She saw us and we went to her.
"Did you see that?" Agop asked.
"Yes, we saw you. We met, but we understand how it feels to lose loved ones, Agop," I said.
"You seem to have got over. How did you get over?""You wish that it is a dream. We never got over. It is very hard to get over, Agop."
"A scientist doesn't cry!"
"Yes, a scientist also has feelings. We humans have feelings like you avianios. So it is okay to cry."
Agop cried high. I waited for her to finish to cry and Ava looked around. We left later. I found a light armor in the glass box. It looked like a white armor with a helmet. I asked Agop about it, but she was not very interested in the history. There was a male euglo who claimed that the white stone was rarely strong.
Agop didn't believe in the legend. She also was very skeptic about the armor.
"Is the armor used?" I asked.
"Yes, it is ragged and weak," Agop said.
"May I examine the armor?"
"Do it!"
I scanned the armor. Agop asked about the scan and I explained to her. The computer confirmed that the armor was ragged and weak. It showed that the button was over the helmet. I asked Agop if she examined the helmet. She never thought of examining it.
The armor was very dusty. I went rapidly to the glass box and then I opened the box. Agop warned me that I would die if I would touch the helmet, so I ignored her warning. I picked up the helmet. Agop became surprised. She asked if it was special about the helmet and I clicked the button without answering.
The voice message said, "You seek for life, you seek for death, you seek for balance. What am I?"
It sounded like a riddle.
"Fate," I said.
The holographic image showed. It was a cartographic map. The pile pointed at the central ocean on this planet. I asked Agop if she has seen the map before. She never has seen it. Her grandfather told to her many times about the true history of ocean and I was interested.
There was a hidden temple like I revealed. The avianois sought for it on this planet. They didn't find it. Agop's grandfather nagged about diving, but somebody didn't listen. She never thought about it either. The ocean was very big, even it was deeper than this place.
Agop heard from her grandfather that the tropiays were elder than the modern avianios. Yes, I asked about the tropiays. It was an interesting history. The tropiays were the first gods. They were twins. Their name was Damaw and Nadax. The siblings were in charge of the time, day and night.
Nadax was in charge of the war, the death and the erotics. Damaw was in charge of the arts, the dream and the health. Agop asked her grandfather about her mother when she was a child. He answered that she was the daughter of Nadax. She wondered if he messed with his granddaughter. I asked her about the birthmark.
Yes, Agop had the birthmark. She never has been interested in the religious sect long time because she lost her parents. We went to my starfighter later. Jenca and her men stood and waited. They didn't want us to possibly go. Agop would convince her childhood friend to let us go, suddenly I stopped them.
The avianois became surprised that I stopped them. I said that Agop never asked if she would follow us. She apologized and asked if she would follow us. Jenca asked if she also would follow me. I said yes to both of the avianos. We went to my starfighter, so we flew to the sea and then we dove.
It was very dark. Agop was afraid of the darkness. Jenca reassured her. We dove deeper. The computer found an old civilization that was over twenty thousand years old. We didn't know why it was old, but we found two extraordinary sculptures.
The sculptures were very tall. They were very beautiful humanoid tropicbirds or tropiays. Which were they? Agop recognized the tropiays. They were Damaw and Nadax. The computer found a hole and some unknown living beings.
I piloted to the hole. The hole was too little for the starfighter. There were three tubs around. I explained to the avianois about the diving suit and the tub. We put the diving suit on ourselves without problem. The computer showed that the target area was over thirty thousand miles deep.
We went to the tub. The computer asked us if we were ready to meet the unknown living beings and we said yes. We lied on our stomach. The tub discharged us to the area immediately. We dove faster. The computer in my helmet showed that the area was two thousand miles deep.

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.

Gaia Ark
Commander Coop, a four-armed, power-armored, super-soldier, undertakes a mission to assassinate the head of a religious cult bent on destroying the UPSF and everyone they protect. But no mission is ever that simple. GAIA ARK is an action adventure hero's journey featuring a cranky cyborg, vampiric sword, alien monsters, and enough self-discovery to provide a character arc. It's a little rough around the edges, a little crude. I started writing this story on November 2, 2018. This story is mid-composition. Please expect clunky prose, notes [in brackets], and incomplete...
