《VOID REQUIEM》Chapter 31: Ken vs Kuro, Showdown in the mines!

Ken and Kuro both fell, crashing down towards the mines below. But Ken wasn’t about to give an inch of time. As they kept on falling, Ken grabbed Kuro's head, butting him as they fell down. Kuro, using his giant body, shifted the fall towards Ken. They fell deeper into the mine while wrestling with each other. A train came by the same time as they both fell on top of it. Ken immediately mutated his right hand into claws and braced himself inside the train. Kuro was behind as well. There were many trains that transported hearthstones from one place to another below the mines.

“You got quite the nerves, human. Taking me on”

He pulled himself up. His voice was vicious, saliva leaking out of his teeth. Ready to bite.

“You and your friends are going to die a painful death. The Ivan family won’t rest till they wipe out your entire bloodline!”

“My entire bloodline…”

Ken recalled a face in his head. A faint look of a face only Ken knew. That put a sense of ease in him.

“Good luck with that,” he said, dashing towards Kuro. He whipped out two long whips and began swinging them at Kuro.

“Original move #3: Black whip!”

Each whip was letting out a vicious and loud sound. The sound itself spoke volume on how powerful each strike was. Kuro could feel his fur was being cut away little by little. Anger filled him as he grabbed one of whips with his bare hands.

“Get over here!” he shouted as he pulled on it. The train was going the opposite direction where Ken was going, so pulling him close meant a hit that was equivalent to the same speed as the train itself. The punch hit Ken’s nose as he was sent back rolling on top of the place. Black and red gauntlets formed in his hand as he grabbed onto the train.

Back at the top, the others were engaging in combat with the remaining henchmen. Ryu had taken on Hugo as they kept on fighting down from one floor to another.

“Stop running, you slippery bastard!”

Hugo exclaimed in frustration.

“Such a primitive dog.” Ryu uttered. Using his lightning fast speed, Ryu kept on circling Hugo with fast speed while dishing out a few thousands volts here and there.

“6%”

A number appeared in his mind. He took a deep breath and increased his speed. Unlike Ken, Ryu had a more sophisticated fighting style. Using martial art in its purest form to fight with a sprinkle of lighting. After finding an opening at the front, Ryu instantly dashed towards his ribs, curving his knee and launching a fatal attack.

“Lightining Meto: Khao Khong Denki!!!”

Khao Khong was a very common move in Muay Thai.. A move that was done by curving one's knee and launching a fatal strike towards the ribs. Adding lighting to it increased its damage and speed. A vicious attack.

“Die quickly…” Ryu mumbled, attempting to finish the fight quickly and swiftly.

On the top of the roof, Akane was shooting bullet after bullet at Vigle. Her aim was, is and always has been precise, yet somehow Vigle could dodge it.

“Tsk. Her aim is way too good,” he thought to himself.

“I have to hand to you people. You know how to stir up a place.” He said as Akane was reloading her gun.

“You know you can be off use to our cause. With your skills, why bother following an idiot monster like him? After all, no one would be foolish enough to interfere with the Ivan family's work.” he kept on saying as he flew in closer.

“There is still time. Joi-”

a bullet grazed his cheek.

“Zip it birdface.”

The sound of a long rifle gun echoed in the air.

“Imma blow your head off for what you’ve done.”

Akane’s voice was filled with vengeance. Like Ken, Akane had some time to bond with these people. Even for someone like her, that loss left a mark in her heart. And the ones who did it were still living in front of her very eyes. That was something she could never accept. Miku and Gorger were having an all out shootout.

“Is that what you call weapons?” Gorger said, loading his shotgun as he kept on firing.

Miku was hiding under the rubble of rocks as cover.

“Heh? Unlike that primitive gun that looks like an elephant nostril, mine is super flexible and better look-” a shotgun bullet exploded right beside her.

“Die!” Gorger was shooting the bullets in a pattern.

“6 shots,” Miku murmured to herself.

She had caught the pattern. Six shots and a reload. She kept on counting as Gorger got closer.

“Whats the matter? Too chicken to fight?”

“4”

He shot once more.

“5” He stepped one foot closer.

“6” he shot one last bullet as Miku’s cover was blown away.

“Prepare to die!” Gorger said, aiming at Miku’s head. She wasn’t flicking. A cold and simple calculation had given her the only possible outcome. He tried to shoot, but there weren’t any more bullets left. A reload was necessary, but Miku wasn’t the type of person to give him that time.

She shot out a laser beam that pierced through Gorger's chest, shooting him back at the pool.

“Learn math dumbass” Miku said blowing off the steam emitted from her gun

Last but not least, Vik and Sora who were exchanging blow after blow with their swords. Sora wasn’t even using Ashura. Vik felt confused and conflicted by it, opting for an answer.

“What's the matter? Won’t even use that sword? Or rather, can you even do it?”

“Heh. If I used that, then there wouldn't even be a proper fight.” Sora said, gripping his silver one handed sword.

“I like to win with skills not with raw power” He jumped in front of him, swinging his blade like a tabletop spinner.

Back on the train tracks, Ken swung his gauntlet fist towards Kuro with dominant force. Using his sharp knife, Kuro maneuvered through the train's sides and towards Ken’s back. The fight was taking place in a fast-moving train. One unnecessary movement meant falling out of the train at an incredibly fast speed. Ken, due to equipping such heavy gauntlets like a fist, lost balance and fell downward.

“Huh?” Kuro looked confused. The fight looked like it was over before it begun but Ken wasn’t a person to go down so stupidly. Shooting his tentacle towards the front of the train, he swung himself done the line onto Kuro’s back.

“That was close,” Ken said to himself.

Kuro pulled out his claws and dashed towards him. Ken pulled out his shield trying to block, but Kuro differed from the red wolf Hugo. One ramming attack and both of them fell down from the train to another train below. They kept on wrestling with each other. Exchanging one blow after another. Kuro pulled his hand to the top and slammed Ken down inside the train.

He tried to plunge his sharp nails inside Ken’s heart, but Ken quickly rolled behind as Kuro’s hand got stuck on the train's floor. Kuro couldn't pull it out.

“Damn it”

“My turn,” Ken said as he pulled out his shield and rammed Kuro with full force, flinging them outside of the train towards the mines below. The other villagers and wolves scattered from the sight due to fear. Ken’s head was spinning. He gripped his hair tightly, trying to calm himself down.

“Damn you… damn you all!” Kuro said, lunging at Ken. He pulled his left leg on top of Ken's left hand and roared at Ken’s face.

“Shit, that stinks,” Ken remarked.

Kuro grabbed Ken by the neck and flung him towards the rocks beside.

“Is that all you got?” Kuro taunted.

Ken leaped out of the rocks to the top. He stretched his leg to the top as it coated with a black and red shell.

“Original Move #2: Meteor stomp!”

Kuro took a deep breath, as if something were pent up in his mouth. Meto energy was getting stored up in his mouth.

“Sound Meto: Howling Breath!”

Ken was hit with a force of Howl that decreased his speed, thus weakening his attack.

Kuro, using his hand, easily deflected the attack and grabbed Ken with both of his arms.

He began squeezing Ken from both sides, attempting to crush his bones inside.

“You know, vermin like you should understand how the world works.”

“AAAH!” Ken screams in agony. All of his ribs felt like they were going to pop any moment. He was weakened already to begin with. The anger clouding him had made his moves fierce but dull, exerting way too much strength. Fighting with anger now would be an idiot's move, but unfortunately, he was already an idiot. Ken, using his willpower, transformed his leg into a coating of shell-like armor. He pressed the leg against Kuros' soft white fur, propelling himself out of his hands. He landed on the mushy soil that laid down deep within the mines. Blood flowing out of his mouth like syrup.

“Still wanna go at it?” Kuro taunted as his fangs grew longer and sharper.

Ken grabbed the Emerald in his chest, tightly calming himself down. He pulled his right hand atop as it transformed into a giant blade covered with red and black stripes.

“The actual battle starts now!”
