《A God's Freedom》The god Nagu

Ji looked down onto the monkeys wrecked body. It was still alive but various different injuries covered its small body. Its right arm was broken and dislocated in an unnatural way, its two legs had large cuts to them, white bone was visible amongst the red flesh. The formerly snow white fur had become brown by the dried blood.
The monkey was in a horrible condition.
Nevertheless, it glared at Ji, its eyes full of fury and bloodlust. It wanted revenge. Revenge for the thousands of its kin that had been killed on Ji’s way here, revenge for the humiliating defeat it was experiencing right now.
Ji shook his head.
“You are still the same idiot as you have been four thousand years ago. I honestly can’t imagine how a group with a member like you was able to lift the suppression of that fucking geezers.”
The monkey laughed darkly. “You human bastards just were too afraid to try! The heaven has become too lax, too weak. These lunatics forgot that the world isn’t going to freeze in time just because they banned us from the open world.
We just rallied a few lower gods and easily surprised the guards that were supposed to oversee us. They must be raging over the billions of humans we killed!”, he grinned devilishly. “Of course, if those lowlifes that still serve you wouldn’t be the spineless bugs they are we would have wiped out all of your kin.”
Ji sighed as he looked at him with pitying eyes. “And that is why I call you stupid Nagu…”, he lifted his leg and stomped down onto Nagu’s stomach.
The monkey’s eyes turned white and his face cramped up. Foam gathered at his mouth and he vomited black blood. For a few seconds his body violently cramped up, then it became limp.
“You always manage to enrage those you shouldn’t.”, Ji lifted his foot and gave him another kick. It hit Nagu’s body and flung it against a nearby boulder. Ji walked towards Nagu’s bloodied body.
“I know you aren’t dead yet so stop pretending.”, a third kick followed.

Nagu groaned in pain and rolled away to escape the kick. His eyes turned normal and he stared at Ji. This time the fury was gone and replaced by a slight fear. “You really would kill me?!”, he seemed surprised.
“You killed millions of my kin, wouldn’t it be normal for me to just kick you until all what’s left of your dogshit body is a dark stain on the ground?”, Ji asked a horrifying smile on his face.
The monkey was silent for a moment.
“You killed almost all what was remaining of my kin. We are even.”, suddenly Nagu had become calm.
Ji tilted his head.
“That’s all of your tribe? I could have sworn there was a lot more of you when I last saw you.”
“99 percent of my tribe was killed while we battled the heaven to lift the suppression.”, there was a slight shadow of grief on Nagu’s face. “Now all that is left are a few dozen females and offspring. It will take at least a few thousand years to regain our former strength and that is if I can protect my race for this long.
I am the last god of my species. Once I’m death we are as good as finished.”
The smile on Ji’s face disappeared and was replaced by a frown.
“It seems like I made a mistake.”
Nagu chuckled. “It seems we both did. The heaven is going to come and avenge the humans that died, at that time I will most likely die. Once I’m dead my remaining kin will most likely also die.
Well at least I felt a little bit of freedom before it all ends.”, there was a silver of regret hidden in his words. “As for you… I guess you are gathering your forces?”
“This time I will kill every single one of them.”, Ji promised him.
Nagu nodded slightly. “We will see.”, he rose up from the ground.
His body began to shine. The wounds that covered his body rapidly healed, his dislocated arm put itself back into place. The dried blood on his fur simply fell of as if it had never been there. A moment later the monkey looked completely healed, it’s white fur shining brightly in the sunlight.

Nagu gave a last look towards Ji. “I take it that my debt is paid?”
Ji nodded.
Nagu closed its eyes and grinned. “Then I hope I will never meet you bastard again!”, he suddenly turned into a white ball of light and flashed up into the sky.
Ji watched as he disappeared amongst the clouds. He felt melancholic.
This was the world of gods and spirits. The strong rule, the weak struggle for survival. If the strong fall they too had to struggle to escape death.
Rey on the other side sat on a boulder and looked confused. The fight had awed him, especially as he realized that Ji had protected him the whole time. This only showed just how powerful Ji was compared to the monkey god. Rey was sure that if either of both gods chose to destroy a mountain there would only be a pile of dust when they were finished.
Nevertheless, there was one thing he didn’t understand.
“Why the fuck did I even have to come with him?”, he muttered under his breath.
Ji still heard him and turned around. “We still have work to do and I don’t want to do it alone, so get off your ass and start gathering stones like this one.”, he pulled out a small round stone and showed it to Rey.
“I want to get the array going before noon!”
…
In the town Saji and Kelin had spend three hours within Saji’s room.
Both felt exhausted.
“You really are a stubborn girl, do you know that?!”, Kelin frowned dissatisfied. She held a white bra in her hands.
Saji on the other side looked even more tired, she covered her body with a small towel.
“NO ONE WOULD GO OUTSIDE ONLY WEARING A TOWEL!”, she couldn’t help but shout at this point.
“You wouldn’t wear the shawl, so I proposed this one, but you still don’t like it! What do you want me to do? You need at least a dozen different outfits and until now we only have 11 that you accept!”
“ELEVEN ARE MORE THEN ENOUGH!”, Saji was really desperate. For three hours Kelin had proposed different outfits, each more unwearable then the former. Yet somehow, they managed to find eleven outfits that Saji could barely agree on. Furthermore, two of those could be worn in different variations, but the crazy goddess still wasn’t satisfied and continued to press for more.
Kelin looked at her and her eyes turned sharp.
“Fine.”, she crossed her arms.
“Fine?”, Saji couldn’t quite believe it.
“Yes fine, but you have to wear the sweater without underwear!”
Saji almost exploded, yet she forced herself to stay calm. At this point she was ready to do almost everything just to escape this scary woman.
“Fine…”, she forced herself to say.
Kelin suddenly smiled radiantly. It was obvious that this had been her goal from the very beginning. She took the knitted sweater and gave it to Saji. The later took it hesitantly.
“I have no choice…”, she muttered. She quickly wore the sweater over her otherwise naked body.
It was a grey knitted sweater with a very wide neckline. When Saji wore it, it only covered one shoulder, while the other was completely bare up till halfway to her elbow. A little wider and Saji’s small breast would be in full view. Aside from the unusually wide neckline the sweater was also longer then a normal one. It reached halfway to Saji’s knees and completely covered her lower body. The only draw back was that if Saji lifted her arms to wide or bend down to pick something up her lower body would be completely visible to anyone who looked at her.
Truthfully it was only a little better then wearing a see-through shawl.
“Perfect!”
At least Kelin was satisfied with the result.

Ravyn's Nights - Book 3
Claire's life led her to love. Love led her to death. Death began her eternal struggle to retain both her love and her humanity through 5 centuries of endless nights. Book 3 covers the 19th century. "Ravyn's Nights" is a six book series, with each book covering a different century. Book 6 was actually started first, and it takes place in the near future, bringing the story to a final conclusion. I then started writing the rest of the series when I decided that I wanted to share the details of the life that made her into who she is in Book 6. At the time of posting the first chapter of the series, books 1-2-3 are completed and books four, five and six are in various states of completion. There is currently a novella following a side character that does include a few crossover chapters featuring the main character. The novella will be included in the completed versions of books 4 and 5.
8 158Defy the Legends
"The hand of Fate works in ways inconceivable to those uneducated in her divine method. No trial reaches an end until she sings of it's conclusion... and she's very shy." ~??? Defy The Legends follows a group of forgotten heroes dubbed the "Defiant," each of nine being the reincarnations of legendary warriors embodying the virtues of humanity, who defended the world of Takera from the denizens of the Void thousands of years past. Through cryptic and oftentimes dire means, each coming of these heroes are slowly but surely drawn to each other by an age-old bond, bringing them together when the world is on the brink of annihilation: this cataclysm known as the Great Schism. However, they now remain scattered throughout the world, following a horrific event that ultimately left all but one with a curse to nullify their bond, ensuring that they'd never reunite to prevent the Schism's next arrival. One of those possibly stricken with this curse is named Kyoya Miskrit, the miscreant unknowingly pursuing a path with no way back -- and with a new threat arising from deep within the Demons' Void, he's forced to trust someone believing themselves to be a long-lost ally and assist them in gathering the Defiant once again, in hopes of silencing the whispers of darkness that have begun creeping back from the depths... ...Only this time, for good. _________________________________________________________________________ ***As of Feb. 1st, 2021, the version of this fiction found on Wattpadd is officially synced with the version showcased here. 8 433Strange Convergences
Seemingly disparate events transpire in one world, the same world, different worlds. Seers, psychopaths, paragons, all acting according to the truths they perceive. Who are these people, and why do they matter? They're trying to answer that question themselves. Strange Convergences is a series of short stories revolving around multiple protagonists, simple and complex, kind or devious, who might be seeing another world, or who might be in the real one. Some stories will contain mild horror themes. Pertinent content warnings will be enumerated at the top of each story as needed. "roots (racines)" by PATRICE OUELLET is licensed with CC BY-NC-ND 2.0. 8 109After the End: Serenity
We all want to believe we are heroes of our own story - unless we want to be the villain, of course. At the end of everything, the Final Reaper decided he hadn’t been a hero. Driven by a desire to right the wrongs he was subjected to, he killed everyone who wronged him or his people - which turned out to be everyone that wasn’t killed by someone else first. He'd won - but it was a hollow victory. Eventually, Order’s Voice found a way out. If the only existing being would agree to give up most of his power, the Voice could reset the multiverse to an earlier time with a few minor changes. Of course, the Voice couldn't ask it that way. It could only ask if the Final Reaper was willing to start over from when Earth was first brought into Order. It was an easy decision, and yet it wasn’t. Was he willing to go through eons of pain again to not be alone? Yes. In a heartbeat. Not that his heart beat anymore. Now it would. Perhaps he could even be a hero, this time. When he landed in his old body - more or less - on Earth, the Final Reaper once again became Thomas. He was both and neither. He needed a new name for a new life. Serenity. ------------------------------------------ While this is technically a System Apocalypse story, it's a System Apocalypse that is designed to have a large percentage of the population survive and prosper. There are a lot of problems that come with the appearance of the Voice, and it's entirely possible to lose. Earth has some special opportunities, but also special challenges. The first time around, Earth won the first round and lost the second. Serenity has ten years from when the Voice arrives to prevent that from happening. It will be a group effort; Serenity can't win alone - which is difficult for someone who's been alone for as long as he has. Of course, that's only his second priority. ------------------------------------------- Updates Daily A note on the nonhuman lead tag: He isn't human, and hasn't been human for a very, very long time (or maybe not long at all, depending on how you count it). He still thinks of himself as human, either way. The content warnings are mostly to give me room to write; this fiction is not intended to be edgy, but once in a while a character will swear or someone will get seriously injured. The cover image is a Chandra/Hubble composite image of VV 340 / Arp 302 / UGC 9618. While we're not going to space itself any time soon in the story, people from elsewhere are coming to Earth and Serenity will visit other planets. Plus, I like space imagery.
