Haoran is unfortunately killed and they both think it's the end of their story. But five years later, in an unfamiliar place to Haoran, they meet again and Haoran falls for him again. So, Haoran stays by the prince's, helping him in small ways as he gains power and learns to manipulate the world around him as a ghost.
