《Game of World's Heroes》Question 27 - What is common sense?

Dana still looking at me with worriment expression, but his concern is understandable. The attempt to try three breakthroughs in three days is absurd by itself — if I don’t know more, maybe I will consider myself crazy.
However, with the combination of my bloodline that can change my body to its prime condition and potions that help to soothe the gushing Qi in meridians — there is no chance that I will fail in this breakthrough or induce some adverse after-effect.
The research results already say this is okay and my knowledge from the previous world already tells me this is fine. However, he doesn't like me who have the advantage of knowledge from my reincarnation — it's understandable that he's yet to escape from a prison which called 'common sense' of this world.
Looking at my serious expression, he knows that my mind won't change and find some chair to sit while preparing medicines in case something goes wrong. It seems whatever I say won't stop him for worrying, but knows that someone care for my wellbeing makes me delighted.
I sit in a comfortable position and then close my eyes — switching my vision of the white room earlier into the dark scenery. In this state, I can hear and feel nothing except the Qi around me. I’m regulating my breath and sync it with Qi flow in nature, each Qi in the air become more perceptible while other aura dissipating from my sense as the time passes.
After a while, my perception already at its peak and then I start to absorb those Qi into my body. Those Qi are swirling like a whirlpool while flowing to my body as the center.
Streams of Qi slowly filled my meridians, as usual, this is where I must concentrate carefully — this step is where I must guide my Qi with high precision to make sure that my breakthrough will give optimal results — not only to strengthen my body — but also enhance my perception, increase the Qi purity and my ability to thinks faster.

The process of breakthrough is like assembling an engine inside machines — you can produce it by copying from blueprint by other people, or you can build it with proper knowledge of engineering.
The first option is the safe way because you know it will work, but when you want to optimize the result, you must know how each part of the engine works and then erase the useless process while increasing desired output. Which mean, people who only copy from blueprint couldn't even understand what part will affect what result and this makes their attempt to improve the engine exponentially harder.
For people who don't understand how is the cultivation works, it is easier and better to follow the safest method. It is still safer than people in the past who try everything and then hope that some of them will work. Well, some of them are working by miracles, but they don't know why and how those techniques even work in the first place — if they change a factor even a little, they will find that the result will deviate greatly.
Well, I don't have any right to badmouth them because of their curiosity, even I was trying to create new cultivation-technique too. However, in my case, I build new cultivation technique from scratch after doing proper research.
Time passed, every bloodstream inside my body become comfortable-warm while my vision changing into a blinding yellow, each second the nature-Qi got purified inside my body and then enhance my perception — something that will take me months to do if I use a conventional cultivation-technique.
My breakthrough is smooth without bottlenecks, even though there were many small obstacles, but I already see it occurring before even attempt my breakthrough. Therefore, I already prepare the necessary material to counter those obstacles — there is no need to take unnecessary risks like a novel’s main-character that solving a problem while breakthrough.

Those kind of scenes are dramatic for the story, and the main character usually will feel some satisfaction after his success, but I never desire to experience it myself -- my life already has many problems as it is, why would I want to add something that I can avoid?
Slowly, every my cell absorb the purest Qi from my Dantian and then strengthen it in each cycle. My body feels comfortable as though I float between the cloud on a tropical island — the warmness filled my body while my body feels light as a feather.
Time passes, I can solve each obstacle that coming with potions that I ingested before attempts this breakthrough. Until finally, the Qi stop flowing towards me because of the impurities inside streaming outside while a series of loud blast sound originating from my body — the process of breakthrough to the thirteenth level — is completed.
I open my eyes and can see Dana’s priceless-expression vividly.
His funny expression makes me chuckle, “How about it, didn’t I say it will be okay.”
Common sense is something that helps people stay longer in a community. It is sense by virtue that people understand with their instinct — as always, some of them are fact, some of them just plain wrong.

But instead of safety, every step brings them closer to danger: sky pirates, cannibals, and a relentless soulless scourge unleashed by their enemy are all intent on killing Lian—or worse. Death, Aralt realizes, might be the greater mercy. ---------------------------------------------------------- What to Expect: Character-driven Plot Novel Pacing (which I accept isn't typical for serials) Elaborate Worldbuilding (you gotta pay attention) Soul-bonded Swords Sentient Wolves Longish Chapters What Not to Expect: Litrpg (sorry!) Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz

"No. I give the thing that is, hmm... the essence inside, the bility, hmmph, the a-bilty to move and shape. I tell what I need and they do, or do not if they not liking it." 'Okay let's see if I get this straight then, you touched the rope and gave its essence the ability to move like a snake, then you asked it to do what it did and it...?' "NO! I speak with mind to the hemp and vine, gave its essence the ability. Yes. Ask it to help me. It say sorry for the hurt. Not you I say, not you, you not hurt me. He make you to hurt! He hurt. You no hurt. Help me, free me. Please. Get me keys. It touched the blood on me. I felt it, sad. I felt it anger. I not ask it to.
