In a clean, white room, I'm sitting in a chair, looking at a someone wound and then stroking my chin, thinking for a while in silence. He has burn injuries on his chest, this injuries not unusual in this world, especially considering this patient profession, an alchemist. Sometimes an alchemist got burned when experimented with a new recipe. Different from my previous world, lab accidents rarely happened because of proper preparation.
However, alchemists in this world are impulsive people, after they got inspiration, they immediately test it. Fortunately, most of them not dangerous, and races in this world inherently stronger than human. So, any failure experiment wouldn't be endangering their life.
Nevertheless, what makes me interested is race physiology in this world. Even though most of them are humanoid creatures, the differences between races are discernible. As an example, the patient in front of me has glowing reddish cracks in both of his hand, like a magma flowing on his arms. It's a characteristic of their race and not a unique conditions.
My mind tranquil when assessing the situation. On the other side, the other party looking at me with hoping eyes, waiting for my diagnosis.
I write something in a note with a smile, "Give this to an apothecary. Remember to consume the medicine before you sleep tonight, and you will get better when you wake up tomorrow."
After hearing I speak, his glum expression changing into a wide smile. He takes the note and thanks me several times. My assistant when looking at the situation let out a smile. Similar situations happened many times, but it always feels nice when appreciated by the patient.
This job is like my daytime routine. After a few other patients come and go, and feel it's enough, I decide to close this medical facility. The sun yet passes over my head. However, this medical practice isn't my main job, and I didn't do it for money, so I have no problem to close early.

I put off my uniform in changing room. I always feel weird when looking at myself, a doctor child with different eye color. Even myself admit it strange when looking at a small figure reflected in the mirror wearing doctor white uniform, no wonder people call me child genius.
At first, the patients felt skeptical when seeing me as a doctor. Someone who doesn't even have any diploma from any medical school, and more importantly still a kid. Even I won't believe myself if I'm in their shoes.
Some of them choose immediately to go home after seeing me runs the clinic. However, after a few days, patients come here when they didn't have another choice and pleasantly surprised by my way handle thing. My competence spread by gossips from mouth to mouth, and not long after, they start coming either by curiosity or want to find fault with me, however, I can handle it. Finally, right now, my little clinic is this community first choice when they want to get healthy.
Most of my techniques I got are from previous life, walks in the medicine world. However, they believe I got my medical skill by learning from my mother. Well, that is a convenient excuse for me when asked by them. They aren't all wrong though, the basics of plants, medicine and biology mostly I read on my mother books, then I try to derive and combine it with my previous knowledge, either theoretically or experimentally.
After I come back to the main room, Dana, my assistant, already prepares a glass full of hot milk for both of us. I need nutrition for my growth, don't judge me. Dana on the other hand, just following what I do. I drink the milk in one sitting after waited for it to cool down.

Dana is an orphan I met a few years earlier, either by fate or other things I hired him as a temporary assistant because of manpower shortage. However, I observe his personality is to my liking and decided to hire him. At first, I have difficulty to convince him because of, well, my age. Nevertheless, he convinced by my skill in the end.
"Ah, warm milk in this hot weather feels strange," I say after drinking the milk.
Dana's who drinking milk too, agree with my statement. After that, we are chatting about random things, most of it is about Rin cutesy and Dana question about medical knowledge, he said he wants to become a doctor too. I happily answering his question, I can see my past self in him, a naive dreamer with a strong will to achieve his dream.
After we conversed for at least one hour, he seems to remember something and go to another room and bring some letters for me, "I nearly forgot this Vys, their reply already come this morning."
"Oh, let me see," I took the letter on Dana's hand and read them one by one.
Dana: My family is shit, so I guess achieving my dream.
Vys: My dream is my family happiness, so poteto potato.

Lone: The Wanderer [Rewrite]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? [Goal of 1 chapter per week, the only exceptions being announced breaks or emergencies] The cover art is courtesy of the very kind and talented ssddx. This novel is a participant in The Writer's Pledge
